As a frequent land base casino player, does anyone of you have been affected by knowing that there are security cameras all over? Does it affect your betting pattern? Or it affected you in a negative way like thinking they are monitoring your betting pattern, thus you don't want to bet big.

Yeah honestly, I think most players get used to the cameras after a while. They’re not really there to watch every bet or read your body language, it’s more about keeping everyone safe and having footage if something ever goes wrong.

I don't care about security cameras as long as I am minding my own business and just having fun playing the slot machines. They also do not offer real protection compared to playing online at home because if someone gets mad and has a gun with him in the casino he can do a massacre before he is caught, so there is no real enhanced sense of security because of cameras being installed there. The cameras are more for the management of the casino to spot people doing all kinds of tricks and cheating to win money, that is why cameras are there in the first place, everything else is secondary. This can be a reminder for us all that is better to play at home where risk of getting hurt is absolutely zero compared to local casinos.

Anyone that goes to a physical casino has given up their privacy already so there's no need to start fidgeting over cameras. Those cameras are important to account for activities in the casino and as an information reference point when needed for example:

• A crime is committed on the casino ground
• Items are stolen
• Cashier conduct and interaction with client gamblers

Its a simple fact, if you care so much about your privacy, please gamble online. Those that come to physical casinos are ready to reveal their physical identities.

Never been to a land based casino, but I know I'll be affected, it's just automatic to me that I feel affected when someone/something is watching me.

I haven't played in real casinos yet and I'm comfortable with online casino but I am aware of the security cameras all over, I don't think there should be a concern about betting pattern since most of the games were I assume is fair. I think I would actually feel safe with them since they can clearly check everything and response to anything if needed, also if some things were stolen they can easily monitor anyone, etc. personally I don't see any negative psychological effect of security cameras in casino aside from giving its player extra security.

I visited a very beautiful and luxurious casino this summer, and there were cameras everywhere. In addition, a photographer was walking around taking photos and videos. Since I went there purely for entertainment during my vacation, I didn’t really pay attention to all the surveillance around me. I think the casino does this to protect itself from fraud, and for  players, it’s also an advantage, in case of theft, which is quite possible in places where there’s a lot of money, alcohol, and entertainment.

Based on what I have heard in the past of how someone won big in a casino, but because many people were aware of his winnings, he was later robbed and shot dead because he had never withdraw his winnings from the casino, so when he told the robbers, they did not believe him, so he was shot , why am saying this is because of privacy.
I prefer to gamble online from my own space secretly, so if I tried coming to a betting shop and I discovered that their are security cameras, at first I will be happy that these people are serious with their security, but I will not be that free because I will have that impression that someone is monitoring me. That's why I prefer doing it from the comfort of my home online. I don't like exposing myself to danger.

So I've never been to a real casino and I'd really like to go. Honestly, there are cameras in other places too, like in shops.
If you are a person of sound principles and, for example, you don't steal, you won't steal whether the cameras are there or not.
If you take the casino as a place to play and have fun then the cameras will have no effect on you.

Security cameras inside a casino are for security reasons and also for monitoring gamblers. A lot of establishments (not just casinos) have them for their safety and the safety of their customers. I don't see any reason why it would affect me or anyone negatively. If someone is anxious about being judged, then online casinos are their safe space.

If you gamble within the casino's established rules or without cheating, should you be concerned about the presence of cameras around you? I don't think so, as shopping malls are also full of cameras, but they don't interfere with your shopping.

Good points but don't you think if they really wanted to do this they would collect the data directly from the computer maybe by scraping the provider site or app and get to see the data without you even knowing they did and not stress themselves so much to zoom in from a camera. Taking such info over the camera is a very lame approach if you ask me.

Security cameras are planted for security reasons, its a physical casino so anything can happen, therefore they need to remain accountable for every event on the casino ground in case evidences are needed.

This will be my only issue if I gamble in a physical casino. I prioritize my privacy a lot, because I do not want people knowing how much I gamble with or how i won/losing in the casino. But anyway, CCTV cameras are very important in the casino, it is the major way to ensure security and transparency so that everyone can feel safe. Anyone going to the casino should choose between privacy and entertainment. Physical casino has more fun and entertainment compared to online casino.

Doesn't care, I'm more focused on playing and winning money, so I don't look at how many cameras or where is the placement. For sure those who have been in many casinos, we all know that in every corner, a camera cover that space.

And you should know the unwritten code in land base casinos, don't pick chips, don't pick money, tickets with amount. Call the casino staff if you found one so that you won't be ban by casinos.

Well, cameras can work in your favor as well as in the favor of the gambling establishment. Proof is proof.

But I am concerned as to who else might be watching. If I were to win a lot of money,  I would not want that information about my winnings to reach undesireable people. So it can be weaponized against you.

And the whole "If you have nothing to hide..." argument is complete bullshit. It is nothing but an excuse to violate somebody's right to privacy for no reason. If I go into a casino, I agree to be filmed by cameras. But the Casino must be responsible with those recordings.

I don't place a bet on the physical casinos but if I have to, I will not bother with the security cameras. I know that cameras are watching gamblers who trick the casinos to win. But I don't do anything suspicious so I don't mind about that. It is why I choose to play gambling in the online casinos where no one knows that I gamble. I've watched many movies where that camera was used as a cheating method, if the opponents are wired you will never know, and if someone if giving them feedback about your game you won't know either.

Anyway, I am not a fan of located casinos because I hate gambling inside one, online gambling have become my go to if I need to gamble for any reasons, it gives me this sense of privacy and also security than visiting a located casino.

It's just in Hollywood movies mate, I don't think that had happened in casino in recent times. It could be in the early days, but technology has caught up with that.

I don't think that majority of land base players here will think of the camera as a barrier to play. Yeah, for others it could be intimidating specially if you are a first timer. But then if you are have been many times playing inside then there are no effect at all.

And it's a good measures too, I had this experience that the dealer wrongly take the winning hand, and so there was a lot of noises. It was a big mistake on her, and then the best course of action is to review the recording and know who won as there are a lot of bettors on that color.
