Hello, password reset emails are never sent to accounts registered with hotmail.com on bitcointalk.org. How can I solve this problem?

If you've reset your password but haven’t received the confirmation email then please check your spam or junk folders and make sure you entered your email address correctly sometimes typos can often leads to the problem.

If you’ve registered with a valid email address and you can also reset your password using your username, you’ll still receive the automated email from the forum.

Edit: this user has recently changed their email address and woke up after a long period of inactivity.

The tag on your profiles says you tried purchasing full member account.

Have you seen one to buy but having difficulty logging in?

I don't know about the hotmail.com recovery, the only option is to verify ownership of the account to Admin (sign address in the account), they change the email and you can now request for new password.

Obviously, you won't be able to prove being the real owner, no access will be given.

As mentioned above by Findingnemo, OP is probably trying to reset the password for another account, not this newbie account.

Again dont expect him to mention or share then account profile link he in this thread, he wont agree to share the account information to keep eyes away from that account.

I don't think like you.

Nobody want to buy a newbie account, and if the person knows about the forum, there is even more reason to don't buy an account with negative trust feedbacks like this account.

Password reset via email does not show clearly that the account was sold and this account woke up several times while making very little posts.

The OP question does not mean he has issues with the account password, as he still has acccess to this account for posting this thread. So he can easily change the account password through the profile settings.

I feel you didn't understand Wiwo correctly. He is probably right.
Most probably OP is trying to reset the password for another account, not this newbie account.


Password reset via email does not show clearly that the account was sold and this account woke up several times while making very little posts.
As I said, Wiwo wasn't talking about this newbie account being purchased.
If you check OP's post history and his trust page, I think you will agree that he has probably purchased other account(s).


So he can easily change the account password through the profile settings.
You can't change your password without knowing the current password.
If you don't know your current password, the only way to change the password is to reset it via your email address.

Maybe there's something you are not doing right if the email you used to open your is still very active and okay and you click the forgotten password it will take you to the place the you put your email address, put the email address connected to your forum account after that don't click on Ask me my question because if you click on that place the message won't be sent to you, so after putting your email just click on I'm not a robot after that send the message for your password changing we be sent to you and you can rest your password through there.

The OP question does not mean he has issues with the account password, as he still has acccess to this account for posting this thread. So he can easily change the account password through the profile settings.
If you check OP profile, he has received a negative tage from Bthd on account purchase. In believe that's the account OP want access to. He does not have access to the account anymore and want to change the password which is the reason why he's worried that he didn't recieve any password reset email in his hotmail maybe, used for the account.

It seems the owner of the account is one step ahead of OP and has changed the email and password of the account  in order to prevent OP access to the account. OP did change his newbie account password and email recently, which shows that he knows what he's doing and asking.

The last time I checked bitcointalk.org  did not rest new restriction rules against email domain such as the Hotmail you are driving about.
For the fact the email has been accepted in confirming a successful account creation, definitely that same email will be accountable to proceed whenever you want to make password reset.
The password reset confirmation message may also have been filtered to your spam box. So check there. But if you don't find it, it is either you have misplaced the main email address or you are just stepping on the wrong bitcointalk account.

I don't remember Hotmail got any issues but as long as it is a valid email, it should receive the link to reset the password.
Yes, I also think he is not talking about this account. Maybe he has an alternative account with which he is facing this problem so he is trying to find a solution with this account. If he wants to reject the password using a valid hotmail/mail, then there should be no problem normally. I am most surprised that I have not seen any more responses since he posted this.

This seems to be an unusual problem but it’s not unsolvable. OP just tell us the name of the account you’re having trouble with so we can help you.
It seems that the OP does not want to share the name of the account he is having problems with. He has not responded since his second post here.

To change your account password shouldn't be that difficult if you're the real bearer to that account, don't force yourself into using wrong credentials to login, moreover you were already told to have just reset one after a long wake up.

Once the recovery plan you wanted is not part of the procedures that have been mentioned, then you may not have an access to the account, if you're truly having ownership to that account and also have access to the email, then there shouldn't be any problem with that.
