You are correct, such gamber must be ready not to be greedy too, when a gambler gamble with what he can afford, it make it easy for him not attach emotion, the gamble may not even want to keep checking his bets if they have played or not, low risk makes a gambler to have peace of mind and accept any outcome as it is without regrets, some gamblers will say that it is better to take risk so that if you win, you win big but ask what if you don't win, the reason why some gambler won't stop chasing loss is because of this kind of mindset, I don't know how some people think when they are gambling, they just want to risk everything without having a rethink of what will be their state of mind  if their bet does not play.

I bet for fun and keep things simple. I set the amount I'm going to spend and stick to that bankroll
For example, I put in $50 and set a goal to only spend that amount during the month and nothing else
If I increase my winnings, great, but if not, I just refill the account the next month

It is not as if people don't know the amount of money they are supposed to use for gambling, but greed and discipline are the real problems. Even if you outline the amount of income and the amount of money you are supposed to use for gambling, if greed is present, there is nothing you can do about it. This is an interesting topic to discuss about because thesedays some gamblers really want to limit their time spent in gambling but they can't as they are not discipline or even know who to stop it rather. So this thread will help educate them properly.

Many people become greedy when they are dealing with money, that's why it can even be hard for them to spend lesser amount of money during gambling. Those people only calculate how much they might win but not how much they might possibly lose and this has made them lose much money and also make them addicted.

This one is easy, there is no reason to gamble more than this. However, many people refuse to accept that their choices have led them to be economically poor. By limiting themselves to spending they are admitting their poverty, which is why they sometimes have an issue with doing this.

Gamble no more than 4 days per month: I don't know how easy this will be for many gamblers because even around me, gamblers don't just gamble 4 times in a month. Gambling 4 times means 1 per week and I think that is reasonable. It will be easier for those who don't have Android phones   or those who are really busy with office work and barely have time, just on weekends. But this is reasonable and will help to reduce addiction if we have the emotional control. My suggestion is, to gamble four times in a month, you have to focus on few games or sports, maybe just focus of football and particularly with few leagues.

I think many more people will have an issue with this one though. I think it is a good way to keep off the addiction. It you are in the low income bracket, then don't gamble at all simple at that. Allot all your money to the more important things in life, like food for you family, 24 x 7 and shelter them. And even if there is money left after that, then save it or even invest if you are into crypto.

Could be that you might go shooting for the stars and bet on lottery every week. Who knows, that could be your best chance to change your live for good. But if you are like playing in casino or sports betting, not suited for that kind of low wager.

I am also a low-risk gambler. Gambling with one per cent of my monthly or weekly income sounds very reasonable to me. If I gamble with more than five per cent, it might affect my financial plans. That's why I budget to gamble with less than five per cent.  I have heard people call me a poor gambler, but I don't care since that is the amount I can afford to lose.

I wouldn't cope with gambling four times a month. Sometimes I could play more than three times in a week especially when there are many games.

Sticking to one kind of game is okay. But if you can control your budget, engaging in more than one type of game will do no harm.

It's very hard to gamble if you are into this so called low risk gambler. So have to be selective of the games that you are going to bet because you're budget will not accommodate the games that you wanted to put your money into. Then you really need to have mental toughness, lots of end to fight the urge not to more anymore as you are playing within your budget.

So it might just make things complicated for gamblers here. But if you are that type of individuals, then probably what has been suggested in the best strategy for you. The thing is that if you win, maybe you might change your style and still fall for the addiction.

The amount you mentioned seems very low to me. Yes it is true that if you gamble for fun, then it is okay. That is if your monthly income is 800$, then it will not matter if you lose 8$. Another thing is that with this 8$, the probability of making a profit on your bet with 1% of your monthly income is very low. Although I don't know if I am a low risk gambler, but I have never compared my gambling budget with my monthly income in that way. In my case when I want to play, I play I am happy if I win and when I lose, I get out of the game but I don't regret it. Also I never go beyond a certain limit and I also reduce my deposit.

That's a very strict restriction there. I guess it will be very hard for most of the gamblers to follow this.
I myself take low risks when it comes to gambling and set a strict budget of few dollars a month.
But its not as low as 1% because it will kill the fun. I mostly use 5% to 10% of my monthly income for gambling.
Sometimes its less than that if I am on a vacation or couldn't gamble due to other things.

These are good tips and percentage or amount on how much a gambler should gamble. A low risk gambler or someone with this budget is having fun when they gamble. Not going to chase losses with that and you're free to gamble anytime as long as it's in your budget, 1% or less than that base on your monthly income.

In my opinion, 1% of household income is too small for monthly gambling. Anything close to but not more than 5% is what I recommend and that is also what I maintain monthly. If your gambling budget is too low, you may not care much about the gambling. In other words, you will not take gambling very serious since you are gambling with insignificant. When you gamble with reasonable amount of money, then you will be serious because you know that somethin is at stake.

I think I fit OP's suggestions. I bet as little as possible without compromising my income and what I need to cover my household expenses. Not only that, but I only bet on weekends, rarely during the week, when there's a soccer match I want to bet on and watch. We all want to win, and there's nothing wrong with that. What we can't do is think it will be easy, and that if we increase our bet amount, our chances will be better. For a gambler, "greed comes before a fall".
