Reporting posts to mods by mistake does it affect my account?

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to ask something that been on my mind for a while now. I accidentally reported quite a few posts before, tbh probably over 20 since I joined haha… just by mistake, because there is no confirmation button when you hit “Report to moderator”

It actually happened again today after I replied to a topic I liked somehow clicked report just after the page got refreshed. I hope it doesn’t annoy the moderators or make me look like I’m trolling or toxic or something since sometimes, I report posts I actually just interacted with a few seconds earlier lol.

So my question here is,
Do moderators see our usernames when we report something?
And can reporting by mistake affect our account in any way?

Just curious to know how it works behind the scenes

​No confirmation button? That “Submit”can act like one. When you click on a report, you are taken to a page where you write about the description of your report and if you click on it by mistake, you just have to close that page and not click on submit again. Unless you go ahead and click on submit, which makes it a double mistake instead of one, it don't leave any harm but at least is easier to cancel than how easily we can ignore a user without noticing it while using mobile.

When clicking the report to moderator button you're redirected to another page which you have to submit it. Just clicking the "Report to moderator" button without actually submitting it on that page isn't reporting it.

Even if you click on the Report to Moderator  option under any reply, it takes you to



You gotta click submit with a comment (optional) why the post should be reported.
It won't affect your account, but it takes two click to have a post reported.

The accuracy does nothing just that Theymos wanted to at a time add a badge for some specific accurate reports and probably had to think it through and didn’t proceed again, probably thinking that some members will be spamming report button just to get the badges

I think that I'm going to add some badges for people who report a bunch of posts. Maybe one for 300 good reports, one of 1000, and one for 5000. Does anyone want to make or find these images? They have to be exactly 16x16 px (like ), and if you find them online, then they must be copyright-free.

My bad, guys. I get it now, honestly thought that clicking the report link automatically submitted it and that adding a comment was just an extra note for the mods haha
