It really feels like betting has become part of being a fan. People talk more about bets and predictions than the actual game itself.

I don’t know its exact impact, but I believe sports become more popular when there’s a betting market for them. Fans get more engaged and start learning the stats because they use that info for their bets, which makes them more interested in the sports they follow.

As for the feeling, it’s definitely more exciting when you’re watching a game and you’ve got a ticket on the line, hoping it hits. It can get a bit expensive, but that’s how sports have evolved, the thrill now goes hand in hand with betting.

The thing there is most fan's do place bets on the club they are supporting that's why it's seems like betting has become part of us who are fan's of a particular club, and seeing people talking more about bets and predictions more then the a game itself shouldn't surprise you, because in this world we are today almost 70 percent of the world population are gamblers, and about 30 to 40 percent of the world population are already addicted to gambling, only few percent of the world population are gambling for fun and for entertainment, so you see why fan's talk more of bets and predictions instead of talking about the main game. And there is also this fun in holding your own ticket while watching the game play, hope to heat a win.

Sports betting has been on us since way back the ancient times, as per simple research online I think people in ancient Greece have been placing bets on Olympic games already. Personally I think when you're a sports fan you have a higher chance to be a bettor but I know that not all fans are bettors, an example of that is my mother who's a fan of a volleyball game but whenever I ask her if she would like to place a small bet just to increase the thrill, she always decline and said she enjoys it without placing a bet.

I think the reason why we feel it's thinner now is because we can easily place bet online and there's a lot of gambling sites/casinos where you can sign up for free, unlike before that you need to go to the arena to place bet and you'll do it manually. Now, all is automated and you can place bet and watch the game even if you're laying on your bed.

Honestly, I think it is changing the way people see the game. Most talks here in our neighborhood are about how much money they put into a team or how much they lost afterwards. They won't even talk about the game itself or how the players performed.
Before, we do remember how even the smallest talents of players are shown, especially the new ones, the drafted, or the newly signed players. Now, it's mostly about the money that was gambled, and I think it's getting out of hand.

Well, sometimes I believe it's just the change of era. But truly, it's not. It's just because of the easy way to place bets in sports nowadays.

On the other have, as the advent of internet and as we are now connecting from Africa to Asia, maybe in the next couple of years, the norm is that most fans are going to bet because of accessibility.

Or they might see that it's more fun to bet before and then watch the game live or either in live streams (another effect of the internet of today).

Yes, I do agree, right now it's hard to talk of sports that didn't involved gambling. Before there could be betting already like p2p and the best place to go is in our regular barbershop where everyone converge and talk everything under the sun including sports. And that's where you can find someone to bet against or even team up to go and bet against any other player.

But now, it's different the line is getting thinner, you can't be a sports fan without being a sports bettor. And maybe if we see the numbers of sports betting in like football or basketball, we might be shock on how big it is. Which means fans are already betting huge money.

I wouldn't go that far, but what is undeniable is that more and more fans are betting, because it's easy to do and has become popular.

Neither good nor bad. And yes, it has changed how people enjoy games, but that's because the overall experience has changed. Years ago, you didn't have the opportunity to watch the variety of games you can watch now from home, and the same goes for betting. It goes with the times.

This kind of change is really inevitable now. Even kids already know about sports betting, which just shows how normal it’s become these days. I’m not even surprised anymore TBH, watching the game is already exciting, but placing a bet while watching makes it way more thrilling. You might think so because you're there every day, but for those who only watch matches on weekends, it's not the case, as they're busy with work and everyday life. Also there are many who simply go to matches on weekends to help their team win. Even though casinos are growing, that doesn't mean all fans will bet. And I think that many players may bet just to try it out, but after a few losses they stop.

I don't think that most sports fans today are also bettors, and I don't know the official numbers but according to my own experience, most of my friends are fans of one sport or another (those who don't like football like cycling, for example, and rare is the case of someone who doesn't like any sports), but only a few ones bet regularly, and a few more occasionally. But what I've seen in the last years is that the perception about betting by those who don't bet is much better than previously. I guess that advertising leads to the normalization of sportsbooks, regardless you like them or not.

I still have a very close friend that likes watching football but he does not like watching movies but just football. He do not gamble at all to the extent I have not seen him bet or gamble before. He likes watching EPL and Spanish Le Liga Leagues even than we that are betting. Someone like him may not be common but they still exist.

It is your own choice to bet or just to watch the game. I don`t see deference how i watch the match with or without bet. If the game is interesting - it is interesting. That`s all.
But i think that betting increase number of match views. It is good for TV, and, as result it is good to the fans: new sport channels, additional cameras, more matches on TV.

You must be a football fan before you can bet on football likewise other sport games. I don't think that betting is taking over sport and we hardly see real fans. Every gambler has his club tha he supports but that doesn't mean that he must bet on his club to win because when you are gambling, you are more concerned on making the right prediction without being biased. I watch most of the matches that I bet on. Will you say that I am not a fan. Football has more fans than any other sport.

There's probably a trend, but I'm not sure it differs from the global average. If you look at company stocks, shitcoins, memcoins, even political events, everything is assessed from a betting perspective. Any business or life coach discusses the optimal strategy, maximizing results, reducing risk, and so on. Maybe life has simply become more calculated, or maybe people have simply started to look at everything more (as they think) rationally, and it has all become betting? In general, it doesn’t seem to me that sport stands out in any way from other areas of human activity - this is a general trend.

It all depends on the kind of sport a guy chose as his favourite but, if it's football sport I think almost all the football fans are into betting because if you're not betting on your favorite teams I wonder how you will manage to get the fun it's when you're betting on your favorite teams that we usually enjoy the fun because it's like voting for them that they are going to win their opponent.

 and yeah, this is what makes football look more interesting and fun, though some people can only be a fan of football but they are not into betting which is why they usually feel bored while watching their favorite team sometimes they can even sleep in the process of watching their favorite team play.

With the development of technology every field is changing. Earlier gambling was only physical but with the time it has changed and now people are gambling through phones. While in the past there was a designated place to bet nowadays you can easily get every gambling material online.

You don't have to do a lot of research to bet on sports because there are many helpful sites where you can get advice on how to bet. I think technology is ruining the real fun of gambling.

I don’t think most of them are, since there are still kids who are big sports fans but can’t bet yet. I’ve been in places where groups of friends watch the same game, drink beer, and talk about how good their team is but they’re not betting. So I’d say not everyone who loves sports is into sports betting.

You can be a fan without being a bettor, and that’s perfectly fine. But if you’re a bettor and not even a fan of the sport, that’s just wrong.

I guess not all of them are into sport s betting there are some people who really like just to watch the sports event they want to support, others are just enthusiast only that would like to have fun and entertainment while sitting and watching their favorite team or player on the field and doing their best just a casual supporter but other are want to have more excitement in life, they want to extend the fun and to feel a roller coaster of emotion because they made an additional bet on the game. Well other seeing that as a form of fun only but others seeing that as an opportunity to earn an extra money while enjoying the sports game.

Bettor or non bettor as long they are watching and engaging on sports discussion that boost the exposure of the game means they are helping sports industry.

It’s a good thing if many are involved in sports even through the form of betting because it means that they are watching the game.

We have a culture here in my country to bet against our friends to support our favorite team when they are against each other to the finals. It gives more excitement than watching it without bet.
