I was making some few research yesterday concerning help for problems with gambling, and find something that I will like to share with the community, and I believe 40  to 100 person's of this great community may find it helpful to themselves, and as we all know gambling is something that when over do it can cause a lot of damage to many areas of our life, and this can include problem with our physical and mental health, finance and lastly our relationships. but here is the main thing, if you are not sure that gambling is causing problem for you here are questions you should answer, because after answering all this questions and know your score you will know if gambling is causing problem for you or not.

Here are the questions you should answer to enable you know if gambling is causing problem for you, judging from the scores below.

1, do you bet more than you can afford to lose?
2, do you need to gamble with large amount of money to get same feeling?
3, have you tried winning back money you have lost (chasing looses)?
4, have you borrowed money or sold anything to get money to gamble?
5, have you wondered wether you have a problem with gambling?
6, has your gambling cause you any health problems, including feelings of stress and anxiety?
7, have people criticise your betting or told you that you had a problem with gambling (regardless of wether or not you thought it was true)?
8, has your gambling cause any financial problems for you or your household?
9, have you ever felt guilty about the way you gamble or what happens when you gamble?

* So if you score zero of each time you answer "never"
* If you score one for each time you answer "sometimes"
* If you score two for each time you answer "most of the time"
* If you score three for each time you answer "almost always"
* If you score total of eight or higher for each time you answer, you or those close to you are likely to be experiencing gambling related damage.
* If your score is one to seven gambling might still be having negative impact on your life.

About the number 7, don't you think that there are some persons that will find out that you involve in gambling and they will be criticising you? They might not say it directly to you but like the old adage that says bad talks spread faster, the criticism will get to your ear as soon as it comes out of their mouth. People that believed I was not supposed to be a gambler have spoken against me but spoke not because I was addicted but because they don't like gambling and they are not to decide for me.

You need to make it simpler to understand the Likert scale correlation with the found results. Explain it clearly, so people here can understand if they are facing problems with gambling and how prevalent or intense it is.

Such tests are great tools to measure psychometrically how much someone is into gambling, especially in cases where the gambler can't confess verbally he has a gambling issue. Just make sure to use tests which had their efficiency proved, so we can be assured their results are going to be legit and valid.

Each an every gambler knows when gambling is causing problem for them because when your life has changed from how it used to be, then it is a clear warning that you are no longer the person you used to be. That is the way it is. Most persons always think gambling affects every one at the same level, and that is not so. The effects of gambling is in different ways with different persons and it will be up to you to know how it is affecting you. According to what you said, the way it will affect one doesn't mean it will affect me in the same manner. Financial state also have a greater effect on gambles, and it depends how much you might be willing to gamble. In my area I have come across so funny gamblers that will only gamble with small amounts of money and expect to win a huge amount of money, to me, that is crazy.

These are very important questions, as gamblers it's important to sit down and do some self reflection, identify your weaknesses and triggers, find a way to curb them if they cause you harm...But it's not only about asking yourself all of these numerous questions the most important thing still boils down to having self contorl and discipline without these you'd keep on making the same mistakes

Stop it before it gets to you looking for help for gambling problem. Before the gambling problem you caused the problem. Gambling will not start being a problem when you gamble responsibly. Most gambling addict did gamble irresponsibly for a long time till gambling began an addict and a problem.
If you are now an addict and gambling is a problem when you to you then seeking help like the one from OP is good but if you don’t want to get there then you should start gambling responsibly.

Some gamblers have the bad side of gambling in the financial lifes and not on the amount of time the waste on gambling and we have others thay have money management but their own addiction effects on in the time the spend gambling, so ues you are right that gambling affects people in different ways and should be taken into account as such when discussing this topics such as this one

Some persons are already sure of the problem that gambling is causing them but that is not the challenge for them, the challenge for them is how to stop. On the action of how to stop many persons are doing it wrongly because they keep trying on their own to stop the habit of gambling and each time they fail they make the next time they try to stop harder. After accepting that gambling is causing you a problem I think the next thing you should analyze is if you're capable of stopping it on your own, and if you then realize that you're not capable of stopping on your own, it is best you seek professional help instead of trying to force yourself to stop on your own.

To me, I would say that once a gambler is perfectly okay with his gambling habit it's assume that he doesn't have any problem you don't necessarily need to answer this question before knowing if you're facing gambling problem or not because in this aspect of financial problem there are some other things that can lead to financial problem which gambling will be considered as one of the factor that cause financial problem because I have seen a lot of folks that doesn't play gamble yet they're going through financial problem, I don't mean to dispute on this things you stated here of course those informations can be very helpful I personally do not need to look into those things before knowing that I'm into gambling problem but the moment I notice some changes in my system especially while gambling then I will quickly hit the stop button to ease the pressure before starting all over again.

Irrespective of the nature of gambling and it side effects, one can still gamble and derive pleasure from it without having to under any rehab just to be in a good shape. It all depends on ones self discipline to be able to control themselves as they get engaged in gambling activities. Yes these questions are quite alright to ask oneself but are you really doing the right thing to gamble for fun and not for profit?  however be the case, gambling is done for fun and anyone gambling for profit should apply caution so they don't get addicted.

It’s always going to be how to stop because, once you’ve identified it to be a problem, it actually means you are at the verge of a gambling addition problem and when it gets to that level, it simply means you might not be able to put yourself through any fine of rehabilitate alone. You obviously would need the help of others to aid you in being properly rehabilitated to society.

The OP has got some important questions and I don’t see it as one that every gambler would scale through, it’s that real what hold gambling has got on gamblers.

People are quick to criticise what they don't understand and one thing i have come to terms with is that everyone is entitled to their opinions. What's important is that you are gambling responsibly and what others think doesn't really change anything.  Gambling is a fun activity and if you are not doing it in such a way that causes harm to you then there's nothing to be worried about, just focus on yourself

This is a good questionaire guideline and may help an individual who takes these questions seriously.  With this, we are able to identify whether we are going into an addiction or not.  Knowing the signs early can enable us to create a strategy or approach to combat gambling addiction without totally leaving gambling activities.

Yes, it is the best thing to be a responsible gambler, but we should also know where we are standing so that we can address things even before it become a problem.
