Selling now or waiting for later should be your personal decision to make, and which altcoin you hold. I'm seeing the market as recovering a little this month of November, but I'm not sure how it can go and what Bitcoin is going to achieve in the remaining weeks of the year. I only have plans to sell off if what I expect to cover up my December expenses doesn't come as planned; then I will have to empty some of my altcoin bag.

I already sold majority of my assets at the end of 2024. We have experienced a short bull trend, and i don't think we will get another one. I know many forecasted Bitcoin to mooning, but don't forget bullish trend is only applicable for Bitcoin, not the entire crypto market.

If you have a plan to hold it until december, that's good. However, don't forget to always put SL.

Just accept whatever is the outcome by December, you'll take it. If it's a good decision, then that's a prop to you but if it's not then better luck next time. Many are still waiting for the altcoin season to come even if it's the obvious that it already did passed last time. I have some alts that haven't pumped yet so if it does happens and they have some gains for me, I'll take it regardless of how much it is as long as I am able to see some profits on it. But with my most plans, I'm probably done and will only take a look if there will be some additional.

This depends on which altcoins you hold and your confidence in the market. If they are memecoin, the projects are not trustworthy. Selling them at this point is absolutely correct or you should have sold them even earlier. But if they are potential altcoins like ETH, BNB or SOL, and if you believe that the bull season is not over yet. Bitcoin will go to 150k$, I see no reason to sell those good altcoins at this point.

This is not for me the best time to sell because Bitcoin  price is still down, hopefully, soon it will rise then I can sell in December or there about. Even other coins are down alongside Bitcoin, so selling now may not give turnover instead loss, it therefore mean that I should wait and watch out for a time when there will be a rise in the market

December and January has been the months with higher sell pressure historically and if you are looking for short term trades that it would be beneficial to sell before December and wait till you get a favorable price. But if you are holding for a long term and also don't want to miss any rapid bulls that may come, holding onto it or selling some that are in profit or selling a part of your portfolio could be a good idea depending on your strategy.
Personally, I have different coins bought at different prices in my portfolio and I have already set some buy and sell order to capture the swing. I'm not going to sell 100% of my coins but am willing to buy using all my USDT if it falls below my expectations.

Whether you've made a profit or not. If you haven't reached your profit target, there's no harm in holding. After all the crypto market is volatile, so it's natural to be a patient trader, as that's the way it should be. The question is what type of altcoin are you holding? An altcoin that no longer has community support is clearly a poor buy, especially if the project lacks clear utility. Now considering altcoin trends is also important to avoid holding onto unattractive altcoins.

This is not for me the best time to sell because Bitcoin  price is still down, hopefully, soon it will rise then I can sell in December or there about. Even other coins are down alongside Bitcoin, so selling now may not give turnover instead loss, it therefore mean that I should wait and watch out for a time when there will be a rise in the market

If your alternative to "bitcoin going down" is to "buy new tokens at binance" then you are going to lose all your money. There are no ways you could make money from the current situation with investments into new shitcoins, you are going to just lose your money quicker. And looking at bitcoin, it is not doing that bad, certainly doing better than shitcoins, so it would make sense to keep it in bitcoin if your alternative is new tokens.

However, if you want ETH, or something that high, you should be fine and the result will not be that bad. Because to be frank known altcoins are usually fine too, they will do as fine as bitcoin, or they will do even better, hence I would say it will not be that bad for the long term at all.

to be honest bro! it depends on your goals and how much risk you are willing to take because the market is unpredictable! altcoins can still pump if bitcoin stays strong but they can also drop fast if bitcoin corrects i am personally taking a mixed approach, taking some profit now to secure gains and holding the rest till December just in case we get that final push. it is better to play smart than to regret later and one cool thing is just to always buy spot and stay on a safer side.

I've trimmed down my altcoin holdings and only hold the worthy ones. Don't know about whether or not there gonna be altcoin season but I personally think most of altcoins just gonna stuck on their all time low.

Cosmos, Tia, and many more are some pretty dead coins which I initially hold and my ETH gains have compensated the loss.
I think I just prefer bitcoin at this point honestly. If i'm gonna bet, it's SOL that might go up with ETF and much more to come. It also hugely depends on the market.

What you're most likely to hear as response on this is to do your own research, because we can't afford to take a step of actions without checking if it's the best time for doing so or not, we need to observe the overall market and how our investment has yield it's kind of return before choosing to sell them, because this altcoins and not bitcoin, some of them may be rising while you discover that others are falling, but we can speculate the more to know when best it will be for us to sell into profits and not loss.

I've been selling, some of my altcoins have been taking profits and returning to the main bag, at least until past the unclear market with high concerns in macroeconomics and political sentiments that continue to suppress the confidence of market participants.

Some of them are still being held just because there is little hope for the market to grow fast again in a short period of time to get decent returns in altcoins, BTC is also currently having a very hard time holding on to the previous $115k level and was thrown back down to consolidate the price, Bitcoin needs a strong foothold and positive news sentiment to increase the confidence of traders and investors again.

There is so much leverage and unbacked stablecoins minted out of thin air that I believe the altcoin market capitalization is vastly inflated. Altcoins are getting rekt all over the place after recent mass liquidations, hacks and ponzi collapses. When lower risk protocols that have had years of audits get hacked, as was the case with Balancer, it is time to question whether any altcoin investment is truly safe.

My humble advise is that people should be minimizing their risk exposure. If you are holding a token that has already gone down more than 50% this year, you should dump it and get out with whatever you can. No amount of buybacks and burns are going to save it, in all likelihood. Coins that look good because they have gone up a lot, like Zcash and BNB, are being manipulated and will go back down once there’s enough exit liquidity.

Many altcoins are at year lows, why would you sell now if you are 80% down on a position?  Just hold as it can all change very quickly like we have seen many times before.

What we are seeing now is pure manipulation just like we saw on October 10th with the biggest liquidation in crypto history, the government is shut down and today marks 35 days of it being shut which is the joint longest in history.

Soon as it opens again there will be a better feel about, QT is ending in less than 4 weeks, more rate cuts coming and Trump will agree tariff deal with China.

Sell some alts if you want and need the money, but if you don't just hold through this.

The market right now is moving weird and it’s not giving that full confidence we usually get during strong bull runs it feels like we’re stuck in between phases not fully bullish but not entirely bearish either and that’s what’s making it tricky to decide whether to hold or sell. For me i think selling part of the altcoins and securing profit is never a bad move at least you’re locking in gains and not watching them disappear if the market dips again especially since BTC has been struggling around that $110k to $115k range like you said if Bitcoin can’t break and hold strong above that level then altcoins will likely continue to bleed out.

But at the same time December has this psychological pull where many expect one last pump it’s been that way for years sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn’t so holding a small part of your altcoins until then isn’t a bad gamble either as long as you’ve taken your initial capital or some profit out. Personally i’d say split it hedge both sides take profits from half your holdings and let the rest ride till December if there’s that “one last move” you’ll still benefit but if it doesn’t come you won’t get wrecked fully it’s all about balance and keeping emotions out of it.

Yes that's right, I like what you said about the current market situation, where we are not in a fully bearish state and a fully bullish state, it can be said that it is gray for now, there is no definite clarity about the decline and increase in prices which are very high volatility.

But we must remain realistic with this unclear market situation, at least taking profits even though it is not big is the best choice available, or some people take Cut lose even in a state of loss but it is much better than losing deeper, today bitcoin is back to $103k and that is not a good thing, but also keep in mind that it should not be excessive, at this time it could be taking steps for additional DCA if your option is still optimistic about the market.

The October 10th liquidations removed a lot of leverage from the market. Most altcoins are so overvalued because of leverage.

The market pumped in anticipation of Trump’s policies. Everything dumped when he and Melania launched their memecoins and later his threats to impose high tariffs made things dump even more. Most coins have given up either all or almost all of those gains.
