This could be risky too. You’re hedging, but that also means you’re getting lower odds. For example, in point spreads, the normal odds are around 1.90. If you bet on the other side, you might still get 1.90 at best, but usually it drops to around 1.70, so you’re basically losing about 10% to 30%.

This happened to me not long ago, I think it's a normal thing because we often think that is the best time to hit the game forgetting that it's not possible. Of course, when a gambler is eager to make profit without accepting losses thats how your emotions would lead you into more losses, the best way to overcome frequent losses and move on is to let go when you have already bet your game. Because hoping that you can easily make a smart move in the game can make you lose everything at ones.

Have you check the team's conditon pregame? I think there's some mishaps especially if they just played the other day then play again the next day, that could really make a difference on what you'll expect on them. Well, it's frustrating tbh but that's the game you can bet again the next time with them and maybe learn not to let that happen again next time.

There are times it may work in your favour, there are also time such decisions may not work out as you plan. The best thing is to allow bet to go as predicted from the beginning and not to allow your emotions to push you into making decisions that may not work out for you. I have tried such too in the past and it didn't go well also. I was more convinced because of the change in odd that the game will go that way, I decided to place another bet . At the end it didn't go as predicted.

Who has not been through this? Surely some have, but some people deny it and hide it... it is a typical case of emotional make-decision disguised as logical reasoning

It is normal to see the odds change and think you are seeing an opportunity when in reality what is happening is sometimes just a stroke of luck or a momentary unforeseen event, but the fact is that if we did a detailed analysis before the game, studied the statistics and really verified the probabilities, then we should stick with it until the end.

I do believe that some times a game can "turn around" and something very improbable can happen, this isnt uncommon in football, but I believe much more in statistics and probabilities and I think we should never change a bet in the heat of the moment without thinking a lot before changing a bet that has already been thoroughly studied.

Yeah, the sad reality is that on the long term the gambler will lose their money.

There are some warnings of gambling that many people would not agree with until they have experienced it by themselves, this one is exactly one of that warning, you  don't have to let your emotions lead you into taking a decision without thinking about it properly because the results of such decisions always end up this way unless you are lucky. I tried to place a game on upcoming matches since I can't find any live foot ball matches, I bet on a winning team that it wouldn't score more than 1 and as the time goes by the team reaches 2 goals on around 85 mins and of course I know I lose already but I saw the odds that the under 2.5 goal odds is around 1.20 or 1.15 so I bet around 3-4x of my previous bet to at least win back some of my losses or at least even, guess what? they scored at 90+2' I lose a lot.

Yes you are right, the lesson is don't let your emotion take over your strategy or bet. Once it lose, don't try to win back or do something, accept it, take small break and play again.

This has happened to me many times in the last World Cup Argentina vs Saudi Arabia game, did anyone think that Saudi Arabia would win? I lost a lot by betting on this game. Most gamblers feel that live bet is more reliable than betting pre-game but I find live bet to be more risky than pre-game because the feeling when you bet an event earlier before the kick off time is not the same as when you bet live game especially when you bet a team when they are leading maybe 2 or 3 non and maybe you just log out hoping that the game is sure maybe after some time you decided to login to take profit only for you to discover that your balance is empty and no unsettled bet you know at this point you will just feel depressed? Though I know this similar thing happen even when you bet in pre-match but I don't like betting on live due to the hope they give people from the start.

Actually, I try to stay away from live games and bet on them, because they indeed mess up with ones feelings, leading one to commit mistakes with money which one may have not intended to use from the very beginning.

In my opinion, it is better just to get onto the money line shortly before the beginning of the game and not to touch the money during the development of the game.

If you don't control your emotions, fear of the unknown, and anxiety will make you make some decisions that you will regret later. It has happened to me, and my plan was to place another bet that will enable me to recover the game I am losing. You would be forced to use funds you didn't budget for gambling to place bets. It is better to always follow your budget strictly and don't allow your overshadow your sense of reasoning. Gambling is a game of luck, and the risk you take might also be a good decision if you win.
