I go in with an all-or-nothing mindset on sports betting and I don't even try to cash out when it is obvious that I am losing this game which is kind of bad in terms of finance but emotionally, I am ready to accept the results based on what I have picked for the result it to be. This exact thing happened with me recently. I made a bet on Denver -10.5 pre game, against Sacramento. Was pretty sure this will be a cakewalk. Now the game begins and they were leading by 8-10 points in 3rd Q and I was feeling pretty safe. Then the difference got narrowed down and I made another bet -7.5 in the 4th Q and eventually the score was 130-124 and both lost.

Such losses are tilting but happens too often with me. It's quite difficult to accept loss in reality and that's why gamblers will do all it takes to better their chances of success.
Unless a gambler decides to delete the app from their phones or laptops, then it would be hard to not chase a loss mostly at times when there's enough funds to spare.

I even think that a bet that is placed without making much analysis may bring better luck than settling down to do analysis and loss and then have to repeat the cycle and rebet.

Making decisions based on emotions is losing end game. The fear of losing your money is what makes gamblers decides on things that is not guaranteed. I don't bet live games because there's a lot of emotions attached to it mostly when you are also watching the game. Can't blame yourself if you took the bait. Afterall, that is how the betting lines are designed, to let the bettors get tempted in grabbing those odds, especially when the game are getting intense. This normally happens to every sports bettors. Though sometimes when luck is on our side, we get the W for the pregame bets and the other odds as the game progresses. No, I don't tend to double down on bets that are in progress.  If anything, I would say the opposite is true.  If I see a team isn't performing the way I'm expecting, I would typically end the bet early and get out what money I still could.  I think the same is true with investments as well.  Sometimes I will make an investment and the company starts doing unexpected things or performing in a way I wasn't expecting, which will lead me to remove funds and put them somewhere that maybe I understand a little better.

Nah mate, it happens to everyone who gambles. Your team is behind but you have a feel for it and try to recover the previous bet by making another one, feeling much more assured about it. But, taking break in between two bets may help in you in most of the times. When you chase your losses, you may not predict accurate.

I have experienced even worse. I had under 280.5 runs in a cricket match and made over 291.5 live, trying to hedge the bet somehow. Both lost because total runs scored were 288 I think. It is better to make a bet and stick with it no matter what because the next bet you make is again 50-50 even if it doesn't look like that.

Of course, that's how it normally end up when you allow your emotions to control you. This happens especially, when you're losing because you are eager to make profit and don't want to accept losses. You go ahead to risk more thinking that it's a way to cover up your losses. I have bet in several irregular patterns thinking it was a smart move but I ended up doubling up loss.

You know it is always better to distance yourself when on a long losing streak but at then some people do deploys other ways of gambling thinking that it would help them to recover what they had already lose, the best choice and option to gamble is, when you are losing then distance yourself because at that moment that particular gambler is filled with emotion and partially not with their right senses they would be that blindfolded thinking of what to do to recover their lost and make more winning. Sounds very common tbh. I'd be surprised if the average joe is so disciplined that they don't check their games and try to salvage a situation with unfounded confidence. I read similar stories on trading experiences from many users, so it's certainly not limited to you or just gambling in general. I think it's a good exercise to formulate a plan and stick with it. By formulating a plan, I also mean managing your risk properly instead of going all-in on one basket or something similar.

Then when should emotions be needed when it comes to gambling, everything gambling is not all about been logical and stuffs like that, but been emotional also helps too, there are times the fear of loosing the previous bets can trigger your emotions to place another one in order not the loss everything but at least recover something.

That's when emotions grid in to let you choose a game that can gets you lucky enough to win at the end, I've ended up winning lots of live bets because of emotions.

I don't think I've ever felt that way because when I've made a bet, I actually rarely bet again on the same bet even though I always monitor the bets made, especially when parlaying.

But to bet on the same club at different times (pre-match and during the match) I never do that because for me it becomes a waste and it should obviously be avoided a little.
Maybe if I did the same as you it could get quite ugly and I could find myself in the same situation as you so I prefer to stay in my lane and not double bet to avoid wastage.

Dont beat yourself over such loss, it barely happen and most time your team can get back up to win the game. If they are the better side in that game, they can still win it. I have bet on a favorite team, during live game when they are losing two goals down and later won the game. These are just random events so it is not wrong to take advantage of the odd in live game.
