I want to know what you people think about betting with higher amount and never bet again till the next week or next month, now let me break it down a bit.. I was in a discussion with friends days ago and one of them said he doesn't like bugging himself every day to keep gambling or keep predicting matches to gamble, that he loves placing one time bet and take leave without him pinning down his head on doing analysis or even trying to fight against the casino by placing regular bet.

He said " instead of me to keep doing analysis and spreading my money across games it would be better I do my analysis and just place bet with huge amount, and after the end of the match he wins or not, doesn't care whether he wins or not that he would space till the next week again to place another bet". And I asked, he said the major reason why he does that is to reduce distractions, addiction or and to reduce his attention towards gambling since it's usually luring where one wouldn't know when they become addicted, but with that strategy it could be hard for him to become addicted.

Though when you looked at what he said there is a sense to it but then I have to think that he wasn't gambling to have fun rather he is gambling for the income and since it wasn't for the fun then it would be hard for him to win because there is no passion of love and pleasure towards him as he is gamble.

I want to know, do you find this methods of gambling as something someone could apply to themselves?

This can make it easier to analyze and focus on just one bet rather than several at the same time

Sometimes I increase the amount of my bet when I have a good prediction, but not always. I like to bet on more games, even for the reason you mentioned, for the fun factor

This is about betting and not about gambling in casinos. If it is about betting on sport, that is what I am doing but I am still using a little amount of money to bet once in a week because it is always around 1% of my weekly income. I do not have time to bet during weekdays and I do not really have long time to bet during weekends but I do place one or two bets until next or next 2 weeks.

It's his money, he has the right to gamble the way he thinks is appropriate or convenient for him. I spread money throughout the week because I want to be entertained for a long time. Also, betting with a large sum involves high risk. If you lose once, all the money is gone. But it also has the advantage of winning big if you are fortunate. I also think he is making sense concerning his thoughts on limiting his gambling activities to avoid addiction. Spending more time on gambling could actually increase the chances of developing abnormal behaviour.

Selecting few but trusted games is a good strategy to win your bet, and in this way you can decide to increase your stake a little as you maximize your profit. But when you accummulate so much game, the possibility of loosing your bet becomes very high.

In sports betting, their are teams that are very consistent in their winning, sometimes a team in a particular league can remain unbeaten throughout a whole season, so if you can spott such team in few leagues, you can decide to bet on those teams as such team will give you more opportunity of winning than betting on in insistent teams and loose regularly.

He has a solid reason which obviously i agree with, although not my style but based on his reasons, someone reasonable doesn't need to be convinced in order to see how much benefit it does copying the same pattern.

I don't gamble each day, sometimes not all weeks in a month, I gamble only when i'm financially comfortable to lose my stake (little hope to gain), either a day before the game or few hours before the match begins, and that's explicitly how i enjoy betting.

In as much i won't copy his style, every gambler creates patterns that would work better for them.

The guy in question isn't having any fun, I don't even think he's doing that which he described. In my associations with gamblers as friends, we all like having more than one betslips to spread the risks as well as possibilities of getting wins. There are some weeks that I construct 5 betslips and one or two wins, and it may not even be the first one I arranged. If I had used all the funds with me to place only the first betslip, there's a huge possibility it would loss.  What's the fun when you don't spend some quality time to analyze and construct some parlay and even visit the casino section with the remaining balance on your bankroll?

You made a good point about quality over quantity, but you must remember that this is betting we are talking about, nothing can really be quality guaranteed. Even though there's a chance of winning you might end up losing the guge amount you are betting at once. But spreading your bet has some advantages, it isn't safe but it keeps you long enough in the game and it's possible to win a huge amount from one of those bets.

Exactly the point and this is very much practical of which I have am a victim of various circumstances, when I don't have much time to spend I quickly gamble with the deposited amount with few bets other than splitting in to many and there is nothing wrong with that because am already aware of risk involvement in not spreading bet, I do this because I don't have enough time to spare, this might not be the same approach when I have enough time and would want to spend it tossing around gambling activities, the fact remains that whether the money is huge or not it is still an amount I know that i can do away with.

If you play with large quantities you must be able to play wisely since just one error and you will defintely out.

this is what most people that are responsible at there bets do only that for some, they still maintain a decent amount per bet and never gambles with an amount that is extreme or to an extent outrageous. strategies are person dependent and does not really matter much as long as it is working for you. what matters is that your strategy is not causing you to try out something you can not afford to loose all in the name of gambling fewer times but with an higher amount.

It's just the same with people that bets on a daily basis with smaller amounts, both are for the profit and not for the fun. Gamblers tend to hide the reality of telling they're doing it for fun but can't deny that the desire to win and do it for profit is a real goal.

Yes, we can apply that and that's even more controlled strategy. If that's what might work for him and he's disciplined to do that, that's good that he knows what he's doing and what he likes. He's saving time and if he losses his bet, he simply moves on and wait for the next week when he's available again, no dramas.

That practice is not common, and if anyone is gambling huge at once and expecting to bet again the next week or month, he may lose a lot of money because with that it could take 6 months to even see a single win. If atol a single win will even be achieved because of the long distance of each bet meanwhile we know how hard it is to win.

I don't fancy this gambling method and will not encourage anyone to apply this method. It is better you gamble with what you can afford to lose with the little amount you have than gambling huge at once and coming back again.  What you ought to know is that to win 1 time in gambling it will require more than 10 or 20 times of lose for that to happen. Now if you decide to gamble once a week or a month and it happens that your loses are more then you might gamble in a Year without hitting one big win because the distance is too much and the chances of loses is more compeard to win.

Is your friend a multi millionaire? because you said he bet huge amount and he bet every week.

Imagine, someone can gamble every week with huge amount of money, obviously their money are really huge and that's why they don't care either they win or not.

It's different to us, a small bettor. Probably betting $10 is already big and if we lose, we can't be like your friend who don't care whether we win or not.

It is necessary to take time when making decisions. Numerous factors determine the success that we desire. We are sometimes under pressure of certain expectations or outside force but we should keep in mind that we cannot always control a situation. It's like a one-time big-time type of bet that you could only do if you could risk your capital for it. It's quite a problem, IMO, if you lose, but if you accept that you could lose it all, maybe it's a chance you could get.

The question is, what if you lose? Would you continue betting after a while, or would you recoup your losses? There are considerations that might not be ideal, but you still have to be ready for them. I believe that's a hard approach to betting. I would like that if I accepted losing a bigger amount in one go. It's 50-50 for me.

This method really do makes sense, mostly from a point of view of self-control. Betting once in a while using a fixed amount will assist to reduce the rate of addiction, emotional stress, and impulsive losses. It raises a clear boundary and continue gambling from  turning a daily habit.
Notwithstanding, the downside is that betting huge amounts at a time raises the risk, when the bet losses, there won't be a space fr gradual recovery. It is a high-risk, low frequency style which works just when the person is disciplined and truly fine with losing that money.
