Does time actually affects you more than the money you uses to gamble?

In my personal case, I have seen my gambling experience getting affected by both lack of money and also lack of time to gamble the little money which I can afford to lose to my own bad luck.
That is why I have chosen to become rather a casual gambler, because it helps to set both the time and the budget in order to enjoy a good session on one's favorite casino.

Yes, money and time is what's precious and that's why it shouldn't be spent excessively on gambling or any other leisure activity. If you dedicate a lot of your time to it, it becomes like a job to you and job should bring you some money, which is pretty hard to achieve through gambling alone. So, it's definitely a wrong choice from what you can make money through, if you choose gambling or watching Netflix. Theoretically, you can be making money with that, but it is very unlikely.

I often notice that people even boast that they spend little money on gambling (they play responsibly!), but at the same time they are constantly busy analyzing bets, the state of teams, different strategies and discussing/testing them. I even catch myself doing this sometimes  If you add time costs to monetary expenses, the final result will be very serious. This must be understood objectively to avoid self-deception.

It affects you somehow the time as when you are losing money and also playing for quite some long hours it means that you have lost both time and money which is what I consider full loss. Now to become a casual gambler is extremely difficult as our brain emits dopamine during the time we gamble and our brain associates such deceiving happiness with the fact that this dopamine comes from gambling and it constantly keeps thinking about it until we gamble again, so staying casual in such circumstances means that it is almost impossible to stay casual. I have tried this my own but have been losing the war against myself as I could not stay at all casual, I needed to play in order to be happy so that led me to losing more money until I quit playing a lot of money in gambling, now I play very little money if at all.

Time is arguably more valuable then cash but also it can be indicative of your likely success, if you are throwing in too much time to the game you might find the money situation follows similarly.   
  Trying to economize with both should be a thing and you can find value and better results from not spending far too much without regard, limit time and cash both and you will find what is actually working improving the win ratio is far more likely that way imo    Inverse opposite would be chasing a loss without regard to the other tasks you should be using your time on and so on.

I can remember spending almost an entire day on gambling and it was far too much, the reason it doesn't really work is you wear out your brain and tolerance for proper risk when overdoing a game like that.  It wasnt that I was especially losing or using up money but just the extended gamble in my brain I could feel too tired and so my results were not as good though I was fine to begin with.  Don't wear yourself out is such basic advice but essential imo.

Based on the above arguments, the second category is more affecting and dangerous because you are looking for money under any condition. This means you are addicted, while the first category cannot gamble every day because they have no time, and they are not even addicted, nor can they lose enough money. So those who have enough time but no funds are the ones who is affected the most by gambling.

But you dont need to gamble like others because in gambling everybody has limit, so you just have to stick to your limits.  The reason most people make mistakes in gambling is because they gamble more than they can afford and trying to make your bet just like others is a wrong one in gambling,  this can lead one in getting addicted to gambling.  Gambling can be predicted and this is why you dont need to put in so much money, especially what you cant afford to lose.

As the saying goes, "Where there’s a will, there’s a way; where there’s no will, there are many excuses." Although I don’t gamble often, I do set aside funds specifically for gambling every week. It’s not daily, but whenever I have extra money, that’s where I get my gambling money from. This is also a matter of self-discipline for me. Even if you say it’s already a habit,

I’ve been doing this for several years now, and so far, the results have been good for me. Even though I often lose when I gamble, I expect that. Everything should be timed including gambling so no body should wast the whole his day gambling and wasting it. The time spent on gambling does not mean they are irresponsible for anyone who has that time to spend and doesn't have any other important place to be. I don't see it as an act of irresponsible gambling. Unless when the gambler sacrifices where else they are supposed to be just to spend so much time in gambling then I can consider them irresponsible, and how much time you spend in the casino doesn't really mean you are spending more there is high chance for that, but it's not always same way.

Okay, I get your point, but I have something else that can change your view. You know casinos, or let's say gambling, is designed to get people addicted so that they can keep playing for a long time, and the casino gets money from their losses. So, if you are spending more time at the casino, it can change your brain, you might start thinking about it and spend more money than you had planned to spend. The more you engage, the more you will become addicted, and if you are addicted, then soon you will be the irresponsible one. Today, you may just be spending your free time, but in the upcoming days, you will be counted among those who become addicted.

It's actually a nice angle to look at things from, sure a person can claim that their gambling life is under control and they wouldn't be wrong since they perfectly control how much of their money they gamble with but what they have no control over is how much time they give/lose to gambling especially for sports gambling where they have to analyze so many different factors in order to determine how the game is eventually going to end and in the process of doing this most of their days are spent solely on this and believe me that's a different kind of gambling addiction.

If there’s an advice that’s been said on this forum more than I can remember is, never gamble more than you can afford to lose and never chase other people’s bet cos this is often one of the major reasons why people land themselves into trouble, which makes it very essential for each gambler to set their own limits and stick to them.

But where I don’t quite agree is the part that gambling can actually be predicted. Because if gambling can be consistently predictable, even in the slighted way, then it ceases to be gambling and become more of a guaranteed investment. Even with all the analytical tools made available, luck and chance still plays a very vital role in ensuring success in gambling which means that gambling naturally is unpredictable and it only takes luck to be able to get your predictions right.

I don't agree with this. Gambling is not designed to get people addicted, it's designed to keep you entertained because that's the value you are paying to enjoy, but we allow everything to play with our heads by so doing, harbouring greed and the mindset of dissatisfaction in us. The system don't necessarily push us into getting addicted.

So, if you are spending more time at the casino, it can change your brain, you might start thinking about it and spend more money than you had planned to spend. You might be right, but I have come to understand that the reaction and experience is not something that should be generalised. People can still spend the whole day at the casino as long as they don't have anywhere else to spend it and don't get addicted.

They could even be more self-controlled than those who spend only a moderate time in the casino. The minimum wager off your budget can extend how long you spend at the casino without necessarily spending too much off your budget.

It's no biggie for me actually. Most football matches are scheduled during the weekend so I have an ample amount of time to analyse games on a chilled Friday night. Now, even if I don't do it on Friday, there's Saturday as well. So timing is not really an issue. Even on specific weekdays for UCL and UEL nights, I still haven't had issue with it taking much of my time. There's literally 24hrs in a day. I only need 30 minutes to 1hr to put a bet together. Only on ultra rare circumstances that it goes beyond that time.

Non of these actually affects me though there is no too much funds but I think the one  i have is okay for me to use an gamble if i want but talking about time, no It doesn't affect me at all because I can literally use only but 5-10 minutes sometimes to book a game and it will play, sometimes games I don't spend so much time forecasting and analyzing are the ones that mostly enter for me and I sometimes I ask myself how and why but I realize is just a luck and sometimes it is not about how many hours someone spent in analyzing game that determine winning.

Those who spend a lot of time gambling tend to consider gambling as their main source of income, they gamble with the intention of earning money from gambling, not as entertainment. And this is the reality. And they are the ones who become addicted to gambling at some point and they cannot get out of that addiction easily.

People addicted to gambling lose a lot of things, including their money, which takes them a long time to realize. This is why gamblers should not only talk about gambling as entertainment, but should also play gambling in a controlled manner in reality so as to save themselves from major losses.

The funds we spend on gambling is as important just as the time we spend but it's only for those who understands the value of their time that would agree with this equation. And it's for this that some people don't spend very much of their time to gamble when they can use most of those time for some other important things productive to them. As a gambler and you are with inadequacy of one of the two, funds and time, it's just another way of a blessing in disguise that you have the funds enough but don't have the time to be gambling. Terrible for those who have both at disposal, they can quickly ruin their life.
