Overview
I have observed that the Nigerian local board is being infiltrated by foreign aliens. They are not people we do invite for our contest or for contribution but by people who create new alt accounts and join us here to seek information to validate their hatred for the flourishing Nigerian community.

Their mission is to prove to the forum that the successes recorded by the Nigerian community over the past few months are not genuine and that Nigerians are bad people. They openly abuse Nigerians and our gains in the general boards using their main accounts but come here with their alt accounts to act as friends and people that care.

If we don't do something about that, we will wake up one day with a post in the reputation tainting the image of the entire local board with accusation and even our senior members will not be exonerate because if the image of the Nigerian local board is tarnished, their reputation will be eroded.

Action Plan

• Let us impose a strict use of the Naija pidgin because that is like an identity and anyone who tries to use translator will easily be caught. Language, they say, is an identity
• Proposal for the use of our local dialects in communication. We have Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Ogba and many other languages, let people use them to post to shield us from foreign aliens.

Meanwhile, if you cannot speak the Naija pidgin or any of the local dialect, there must be a way to identify you as a Nigerian.

Nigerians and their wahala. I see people that want only local languages to be like Boko Haram that dislike Western education. They are not Boko Haram but they are extremists is what I mean. They are self-centered and see things in their own way and want things to be in their own way.

What rubbish is this? Did I post that I am holy? But I am neither a bad poster nor afraid of anyone monitoring my actions on this forum.

You know me, you registered your account since 2021 but you did not know anything about this topic that you brought up. If you know about it, you would not have brought it up at all. It has nothing to do with the progress of our local board. If you do not have skeleton in your cupboard, do not be afraid. We have progress and become the highest poster per local board but you people are still complaining.

You don't need to get overly dramatic about this. He simply shared his opinion and asked you to support your claims with evidence. If you have proof, you should post it in the thread.

Regarding Alt Infiltration You should know that no matter what rules we implement on the local board, we cannot completely solve the problem of alt account infiltration here.I personally haven't seen this happening recently. The last time I saw it, I reported it and the post was deleted and the user haven't tried to post on the lb again.

If you have strong evidence of this happening, please create a thread on the reputation board about non members of the local board. There is a specific forum rule that covers this.The forum is open to everyone. There is no need to worry too much about what oyibo say. Just make sure you do not violate the forum rules.One important thing to remember is that no one is above the law on this forum. No matter how good your reputation is, if you break the rules, you will face the consequences. We all know this and should try our best to follow the rules.
 
Regarding your suggestion for a strict language policy, it might not be possible for local dialects. We don't want threads here that no one can understand and that therefore get no replies. But then I agree with you about Pidgin because everyone in Nigeria can speak and write it.

No doubt say aliens no dey among our midst for this our Naija local board to monitor wetin go fit be the main reason why we dey grow so fast, even though we no get any concrete proof to verify that. But when eh come to this suggestion wey you O.P just give above about we prioritizing the use of pidgin for communication. Eh still no be bad idea on the contrary. Because I personally dey always use both pidgin and the normal English for my communication for here. And as such, for me, I go saw the only way to remain safe for this forum is to treat every user as an alien until you don see the person physically, or had a certain level of business or mutual communication, to avoid stories that touch the heart tomorrow.

I don't know the specific case mentioned by OP , but I should admit that there is a lot to learn from your local board even if I am not from Nigeria.

add just a local rule/moderated topic/etc if you make some of these initiative and want restrict participation. thats all.
there is no sense to bans "foreigner aliens" (that sounds really bad ) as a form of principle.

My post was all about giving us identity which language is one of them and even the best of them. I gave reasons why we should find an identity else this place will eventually be taken over by foreign aliens. Thanks for your contribution and I love the way you put it. If you read my post carefully, you will understand where I said that people from other boards are welcomed but they should come openly and not to come using their alts accounts and pretending to be Nigerians yet go to the general board to speak ill about our progress. The other day someone called us all manner of bad names in the reputation board yet came to the local board to create a thread about interest free loan as a way of helping Nigerians. There was one that could not even hide his racism and if we all communicate in English here, nothing stop such person from creating account and infiltrating this board. We love other races and cultures even in the local board and in our country that is why foreigners are working and living freely in our country with some even inter-marrying.

Their is no need  for us to start having misunderstandings between our self, as a matter of fact we are all brothers and one Nigerians, is a simple thing that we can resolve between our self without arguments.

Secondly, privacy they say is power, If we all can understand and write pigin language very well then it's fine, however let's try and keep to the rules and regulations that govern the forum so we wouldn't have issues from our end.

We have seen similar issues in Italian board (people pretending to be italian by completing random translations).
Of course yes this is a problem - it leads to scam - plus all users that want join forum initiatives will find it really hard everything.

This one no go happen. Nigeria na diverse country way get tribes and dialects, if we bring this tribe leg come here e no go tay before we go start to see another problem. OP this is the umpteenth time that a proposal for the Naija pidgin English have been made in the local board. However, i learnt that any member of the forum can make posts in any local board of the forum inasmuch as they can speak the language of that particular local board fluently without using translation tools. To be honest with you, we can only encourage members of the local board to use the pidgin English to make post in the local board but proposing for a strict adherence may not be possible in the sense that the pidgin English do not have a unified wording because many people write the pidgin English differently which makes it difficult to understand every pidgin English written in the local board. I have come across many pidgin English in the local board that i find difficult to comprehend what was written. Again, not everyone can write the pidgin English even though they can speak it fluently in reality.

This is a free forum with little to no restrictions to users so if you find any suspicious activity by a user who is trying to spy on the local board, you have the right to raise a thread against such person so that members of the local board can do some investigations to know the true intention of such person and probably tag them.

It seems there was some drama in reputation that OP is referring to. There’s so much going on these days in reputation board, it’s hard to keep up. I wouldn’t pressure OP to call out the suspected alts since he’s not 100 percent certain that they are. He might also be afraid of the backlash he might get from the main accounts.

To out rightly stop the usage of normal English on the local board is something i would not buy into even though it is something that if adopted can help create a sense of identity for the local board.

let us not forget that there is nothing different from the local board and the kind of thing we do in our normal life here as Nigerians. the same way it is difficult to tell a typical Nigerian to strict to pidgin or good English is the same way it is hard for an average local board member to stick to just a single language viz aviz. pidgin.

there can be clauses that we can put in place to help dictate external infiltrators for instance, every local board member can be made to introduce himself on the introduction thread using pidgin English to at least show he understands pidgin but even at that we have to be open to accept the fact that not all of us has the ability to efficiently write using pidgin in a manner that the next person can read and understand.
