Gamblers life is quite a risky life as you can lose everything you own within a short period of time, and gambling even become more risky when you are gambling without limits, you choose to chase a particular direction be it winning or losing, such attempts always put your bankroll at risk all the time.

Don't expect to do fine gambling in that line, and you should stop chasing or even thinking about your loses, apply some level of decipline and gamble with a small amount you can afford to lose and be fine with all the time.

Gambling recklessly is not gambling with pride, chasing your losses is gambling irresponsible, if my gambling start getting good I try not to get emotional, it is hard and I can start losing but I still try not to get emotional.
But I think you should know that because you start to lose in gambling doesn’t mean you are doing anything wrong, when things were going good you did not think that you were gambling with pride but when you start losing you believe something is not right. Except to win or lose even if you are gambling responsibly and staying patiently.

This condition is very common and usually some of us have tasted victory first before they were destroyed because of ambition to get more victory or when they lost quite badly.

It is difficult to control this situation because we must realize that in the end, as long as we are still gamblers, there is an urge to increase the adrenaline in gambling that we cannot prevent or control if we do not train this kind of thing from the beginning.
That's what makes some of us sometimes always get out of control because we don't train it from the start which makes when there is a situation that is not too expected in the game that we do we only think about how we can restore the existing losses without being able to think more logically.

When you're on a losing streak, gone over your budget and have basically lost control, you're simply unable to accept your defeat. I believe we've all experienced it at some point and it can be disastrous, depending on how much money you have available or on short notice. Gambling with emotions and gambling with pride is similar thing, what we should know is that, anything we are doing and add pride on it, the result of it always be negative...so gamble with sense, strategies and with statistics.

This is why I always say it is important to make a rules framework and hold yourself to it. That way you can minimize your losses and actually force yourself to walk away after winning a certain amount.

But not everyone has the self discipline to follow through.

I can not say such a situation is equivalent to one gambling with pride, but rather seems like a thing of desperation to recover losses. Maybe I could say here there is a slight difference between one gambling with pride and one being desperate to recover their loses during games. As for your case it could possibly be that you were a kind of being furious for losing out and for that reasons, you were desperate to recover all that you have lost which prompted your actions.

It is understandable but it takes some level of discipline just as you have said to be able to control yourself because that is the only thing that could limit you from gambling while putting you in check to making sure you do not do otherwise. Self discipline is very important because it would guide you to be able to have control over your emotions when ever you encounter such situations.

Losing control after doing well for a while happens more often than people admit it’s not always about pride sometimes it’s just desperation mixed with frustration when you’ve been consistent and then suddenly lose a big one the urge to win it back right away becomes too strong to ignore that’s when logic fades and emotions take over. There’s a small but real difference between gambling with pride and gambling out of desperation pride makes you want to prove you’re right that your prediction can’t be wrong desperation makes you want to fix the mistake immediately either way both lead to reckless choices and most of the time bigger losses follow because you’re no longer following your plan you’re reacting instead of thinking.

The word the OP used had me thinking the same thing. That does not seem like this applies to everyone if that is really the right wording he wanted to use in the first place.

I can see where the problems started arising with chasing losses as this is a habit that has happened to every gambler. Whether they want to admit or not. Then the spiraling out of control begins from there.

Just hope this was money they had set aside for just this vice in their life and not money which they needed for living or from their savings.

That is a very good way to control your emotions. When you have reached the limit of the money you want to gamble with even if you are less happy at that time you stop, but people fall into the trap of now gambling with the win they have made within that that. Control your emotions is managing the amount you want to gamble with and having a responsible mind to manage your wins and losses.

Yes of cause, a good gambler would always deploy strategy that will make him or her to win most times, and you find out that once you stick to that very strategy, you will be making progress, and any time you decide to deviate from that strategy, you are going to fail definitely.

We all gamble to win, with the mind to emerge successful, for this reason, you as a gambler have to be very careful while making your selections knowing that when you fail, you won't be happy to yourself and you are going to loose your money.

Honestly, it is not always easy sometimes for someone to control themselves, no matter how well they may have planned. This also happened to me a few weeks ago.I just woke up one morning and that was how I started gambling. I lost all the funds I had deposited which was my monthly gambling budget. Normally, once I finish it, I hardly deposit more. But that day I finished all the funds at once, and as soon as I was done, I tried to deposit again to chase my losses.

That was how I ended up losing the amount I usually spend in one month within just a short period. If I had had more money in my bank account, I probably would have deposited more but luckily i didn’t.It’s really hard to control sometimes. The funny thing is that I believe I always gambling for fun, yet I don’t even know why I keep chasing my losses.
