In my opinion it doesn't really matter how long you hold Bitcoin or keep that would bring out your efficiency,is your understanding and knowledge towards it which makes one learn fast besides a treader can keep Bitcoin for 20years in the name of learning and still not understand when and how to trade it,one with understand, knowledge will come just for 6th months then supersede a trader with 20years experience
Another thing short term investment doesn't guarantees you a fast learner on how to trade,
Short term investment is mainly for  traders who has the full knowledge of how it works and not for newbies
As a newbie I think you should start with the long term trading since is a Year's investment it will enable you grow quick

As beginner in Bitcoin and for someone like me who's trying as much as I can to know more about Bitcoin, I always hear people advice: "Don't trade too early"

Yet, it's really not easy and very tempting when you see price swings every day. People will say just HODL for years, while others say that short-term trading teaches you faster.

For Newbies like me who are still trying hard to gain experience, what's a better and smart approach? Should we just focus truly in long-term holding until we really gain full understanding of the market, or is there value in starting small with trades to learn by doing?
I wouldn't advise you to rush in to trading now as a newbie that you are all because some other persons are doing it successful, try and learn more about it and the risk involved, however trading is more of losing regardless the common flag profits that literally actract many folks in it, is not that easy the way we presume it to be perhaps required a whole lot of skills, technics and strategies in achieving success so it's not something you just run into without proper preparation otherwise it will make you learn the hard way.

A beginner should buy BTC and hodl for long before selling, they have an accumulating target if a beginner can consistently be buying bitcoin ever weeks or months using the dca strategy you can do this for 4-10 years before you can think of selling.

I wouldn't say a beginner should go and trade bitcoin by buying and selling with holding for years it's a good asset to hold for long and not to trade for a short term.

But you know accumulating bitcoin might be very difficult and expensive for many of us and letting the bitcoin to  keep growing for so Many years like 10 years would really be a long term of patience and I am truly aware that not all holders would have such patience but can we not secure our profits if we have made enough profits already from the market or must we wait till that certain years or we can easily take profits and keep holding or we should let profits accumulate so much more till the next coming 7 to 10years. And also can we apply same strategy to other altcoins like ethereum, BNB, SOL, XRP and many others.

It depends on how much your money is worth to you and whether you are willing to lose money or make money. If your money is worth to you and you are more interested in making money, then you can focus on long-term investments, which will be better. Bitcoin is not a quick money or get rich quick scheme. So the faster you try to be, the more you will lose, it is important to note that you will gain experience in the market quickly. But you will never get your money back.

So I think it is not wise for us to rush into anything, since we can learn about the market slowly with long-term holding, so there is no need to learn quickly by losing money. I would always discourage a newbie in trading, especially, because to start trading you have to learn to lose and accept it.

When it comes to bitcoin investment there are people who are bitcoin traders they only accumulate and hold for a very short time and then sell while there are people who accumulate bitcoin and hold for a very long time from 5 to 10 years.
I will not tell you which one to get involved with however I will only tell you the advantage and disadvantage of this two bitcoin investment strategies.
When it comes to bitcoin trading you get your profit very fast however it is very risky because of the volatile nature of Bitcoin so you can end up losing your money.
As for long-term bitcoin investment profit is gotten after a long period of time however it is less risky because bitcoin volatile nature does not affect it because of its long-term process.
So you can choose anyone you wish to do however as a newbie I will advise you first start with holding your bitcoin for long time maybe in the process if you wish to trade you can but just know that the risk in Trading is higher than the one in long time Bitcoin investment.

This is really a very good question, and seriously every beginner actually went through this same tough spot. It is very tempting to just jump into trading, most especially when you keep seeing the market price going up and coming down everyday. But on a serious note, jumping into trading too early usually ends with more losses than lessons.

If you are still learning the basics of Bitcoin, like how the market price moves, what is affecting market price and how emotions can really mess you up. It's better for you to just stick with long term holding, it will really help you to understand how Bitcoin moves over time and teaches you about endurance, which is something every trader eventually needs. With time when you get to understand the market cycles, you'll not stress yourself over every price dip.

See, if you really want to trade, that is cool too. Just start with a little money, amounts that will have no effect on you when you lose it. You should treat it more like a practice and not for profit and also use this means to focus more on observing how you react and learn from every move.

So my dear don't rush, take it slow and focus more on learning and also stay consistent, then the rest will fall into place with time

If you said accumulating Bitcoin might be difficult to some people I won't doubt you because it is not everyone that can afford to invest in Bitcoin because what we need to use in Bitcoin investment is a discretionary income that is leftover and some people may not have any leftover after taking care of their expenses and even if there will be leftover it may not be encouraging to use for Bitcoin investment so Bitcoin Investment is not really for everyone but when you said it is expensive I don't agree with that because it is not, you can buy using the DCA method that is buying in fractions, you don't have to purchase a whole Bitcoin for a start I think that's why you said it is expensive.

A trader needs some level of experience to be able to trade, else you would cry everyday. Even people who have been in trading for long have also been loosing money due to the high risk of trading. So what next, it's better as a newbie to just concentrate on learning and investing for Long term. I believe there are so many things to be learnt along the line while investing.

Secondly, slow and consistent accumulation of bitcoin using the DCA strategy from your discretionary income allows you to invest and learn the market in peace. And you know, when you invest with peace of mind, then you can actually take your time to grow knowledge and know Better. Trading if not a way for you as a newbie I must say

I would suggest focusing on long term holding. Trading is a very risky business and you have to lose to learn or practice trading. Whether you are new to Bitcoin or an experienced person, the chances of you losing in trading are very high. Even if you are prepared to lose, I would suggest you to gain deep knowledge about Bitcoin and gain knowledge about trading. Real experience is more effective than knowledge in trading, for which losing becomes necessary. From my side, trading is not advisable, if you enter a trade, enter the trade at your own risk and be responsible for your own losses. Bitcoin is not a scheme to make quick profits!

As a beginner who just started Bitcoin investment, it is advice to hold Bitcoin for at least 3 to 6 months before before going into active trading. During that period, the goal should be education, observation, and strategy building, not quick profits. Remember, patience and knowledge are more valuable than speed in the Bitcoin market.

Bitcoin’s price is highly volatile, it can rise or fall within hours. By holding for some months, beginners can:
Observe how Bitcoin reacts to news, regulations, and global economic events. A beginner can also learn the market cycles (bull and bear trends) work.
Beginner should avoid emotional decisions caused by short-term price movements.

From my end your analogy is completely wrong: first 3-6 months is too short a time to hold bitcoin and as a newbie there’s no need for you to rush into trade.
Secondly there’s no guarantee that within that period you’ll be able to grasp all the things you listed as all this takes time and good learning.
Bitcoin price is volatile yes but you can experience all it entails in just 6months even one year is not enough to know all that concerns bitcoin.
So in all my advice to a newbie is to stay clear of trading bitcoin and just buy and hold as much as he can afford to, you can start small $10 and increase as your knowledge increases and you’re able to trust it.

I no fit recommend trading for anyone one as the best option, talk less of a newbie. The best strategy na for you to buy bitcoin using any one of the strategies. You fit use DCA strategy and hold your bitcoin for like 5- 10 years before you go start to talk of making profit. However, no be only because of profits they make people to invest in bitcoin. E get so many benefits wey dey come with holding bitcoin aside the profit wey so many know. Bitcoin dey give freedom, so na this freedom dey make some investors to dey hold bitcoin for long.

As a beginner you must decide on what you are planning to get into, this can either be trading or bitcoin investment (holding) because there's a actually a difference between both of them. If you consider to trader as a beginner there's nothing wrong with that but you must sacrifice a lot of time and effort to developing yourself because trading is difficult. A rule of thumb in crypto is to learn before you earn this also includes bitcoin holding as well. As a newbie you can get into trading or bitcoin investment the choice is yours to make.

The smart approach is to do both, invest and hold bitcoin for the long term, and then with a small fund, buy another bitcoin you can trade with any time you want or feel like..

For example, let's assume you have a total of $1000 you want to come into crypto currency with as a newbie, if I am you, what I will do is use $900 to buy bitcoin, move the bitcoin to my private wallet where I am very sure it's 100% safe.
Then I will use thy remaining $100 to buy another bitcoin which I can be using for trading, I can freely convert this bitcoin to stablecoins at any time, and also convert back to bitcoin or any other crypto currency at any time as well, this is spot trading and it can be profitable if you know exactly what you are doing...

As a newbie I think you should start with the long term trading since is a Year's investment it will enable you grow quick
Is there even a need for a newbie to trade bitcoins? talking about long term trading, like how long can it be considered a long-term trading. Why should a newbie trade their bitcoin in the first place when they should be thinking of accumulating as much as they can at that stage. A newbie doesn't need to practice trading because at that time their mind hasn't been strong enough to withstand the other side of the market when things begin to go sideways. As a newbie, it's all about buying and learning the strategies you can use to build your portfolio not trading.

First of, what is trading, this involves buying and selling a particular product, or commodity for the purpose of making profit, so if ur buying and selling Bitcoin, ur already trading Bitcoin, there are different types of Bitcoin trading, we have the futures, margin, spot, and p2p, now if you buy Bitcoin with the intent of selling it off in profit irrespective of the time, ur are already trading Bitcoin, whether you hodl for 10 or 20 years, DCA every week month or day, whatsoever but with the intent off selling of in profit, u are trading, so what you should ask yourself is, what strategy am I going with, am I scalping, swinging or positioning my trades, that's just it.

NFA, trading with a long term objective in Bitcoin is more profitable than just following the daily, weekly, or monthly charts to trade, look at the bigger picture cause this commodity is truly a hedge against the dwindling society

Investing in Bitcoin is a longtime investment, so if you are investing you just need to know investment like this becomes profitable when it is longterm.  Understanding is important when it comes to Bitcoin investment because if their is no good understanding in bitcoin investment it is impossible for one to be patient in going into a long-term investment. As a beginner uou have to understand thst bitcoin invedt doesn't make one to be rich quick.

Well with the little experience I have gathered so far I learnt that newbies should invest and HODL for Long term 4 years or before attempting to sell, and you must reach your investment goal before doing that or you stick to the ongoing buying of Bitcoin until you reach the status of overaccumulation then you can decide to sell whenever you see that you're in profit. So as a beginner is advised to take your eyes off from short term investment as this is not supposed to be your thing, as an investor all your focus should be on the Long term investment and not short term if you really want to enjoy Bitcoin investment to its Fullest.

You won't learn anything by trading because even if you loss all the time you cannot mastering any method that can stop the losing so there is nothing there for you as you have not done trading before, is good to say go ahead and trade if after series of losing or few you will now understand and become highly experienced but on in this you will only no how money can be lost and how inaccuracy you can be on the market but if you want to see for yourself so that it wouldn't be that people are unnecessarily saying what is not on the trading as how some think you can go in.
