I can recall about two months thereabouts when some members in this section where hinting on a last possible altcoins season yet to come again before the year and bull season expires.

Are you still optimistic about the altcoins season for a cycle top? Or, is it still early to draw conclusions about it that the altcoins season has already come and gone but some of us are not even aware of it?

Some believe the altcoin season already happened long time ago in the early days of this year when bitcoin was bullish. Many altcoins were also bullish and followed in the direction of the market trend. Since then, we haven’t seen altcoins move with that momentum, that’s why some group believed that the altcoin season is already over and we shouldn’t be expecting it again.

Also, since the market still remains in a state of surprises, some group still believe that the market will continue to be in this state while we still anticipate that the altcoin season will happen when we least expect it to happen. So it’s a mixed feeling from different people, we just have to wait to see what the market has for us to even come to any conclusions now.

I guess altcoin season has come and pass in this year, and people are hoping for another season that will be greater than last season that makes many altcoins investors to double up their profit.  You can see the dumping that is going on in the market and is affecting altcoins price too, because is a sign that many altcoins price will reduce for some hodlers not to sell their altcoins in this season.

I don't think there is anything left this year because the price of bitcoin keeps depreciating and that is what as also affected the price of altcoin and have stopped them from growing, since Bitcoin is the main thing that affects the price of other altcoins. That is one good thing about investing because anytime the price is down it will recover even with a greater ATH so there is always this confidence given even if the the price is going down. Instead of panicking, this period is not a good time to sell and periods like this you buy more and hold. This how to make money out of the market. Selling out if panic will result to loses.

There will still be another altcoins season but it will not happen this year, because the price of BTC is still falling to make other altcoins to remain in red light not to encourage altcoins investors to have the mind to sell than to buy little altcoins and hodl.

This year is finished already and before another season will come it might be next year and even the next year there is no assurance and because you can not predict exactly what will happen tomorrow. So we can only buy and eventually when it happens then that is good and if it does not happen then you hold that is the easiest way things can be done. As far as they want to buy and hold they should go ahead.

No market is beyond unpredictable currently, because this circle is different from the previous ones. Of course, a lot of shitcoiners were hoping for an upcoming altseason but it seems that it's all a dream now because even bitcoin price is at the dip. Majority of altcoins suffered a heavy dip on October 10th and are still down in price.

Altseason is over, because we are close to the bear market season. All I want is for bitcoin to create a new ATH before the end of the bull run.

The Alts are very much dependent on Bitcoin for there bull or bear season. Right now we see Bitcoin going down in price and as a result Alts are also down and out. It's not possible for Alts to go up on their own, as long as Bitcoin is down their is rear chance that we see an Alt season. Not every Alt is worthy for investment because market is flooded with sh*t coins and even an altcoin season won't be able to help these sh*t coins to go up in price. Make sure you choose the right Alt for investment.

I share your sentiments that we shouldn't put our hopes in altcoin bull season to happen yet because Bitcoin that triggers their bull run is on a downward trend now. A lot of us were optimistic that we should have seen a new Bitcoin ATH by now to give us assurance that altseason will happen, instead Bitcoin has been on a downward slide. Many of had predicted that Bitcoin will reach $150k and I believe that it is the benchmark of many investors to sell and diversify profit into altcoins to start it's season. Let us watch and see how it unfolds but if we don't see a new Bitcoin ATH it is likely that we won't see altcoins season.

Being optimistic is not a bad thing but of course you should secure your funds and there is certain amount to be sold if ever there's an alt season. It's always up to your hands of course, the market is very volatile, we already knew that in the first time we set our foots here in crypto, so now we should at least be responsible on our money, take a move and lessen the risk. I'm still optimistic tho, the last time I saw a market pump is after the year ends, when DOGE pumps so hard and I really took a good profit from that alt.

But again, securing is a must, being optimistic is not a bad thing, at the end of the day we all want to have a good holiday season.

Seems like this will not be a good holiday season this year. Yes next year we might see some recovery but these holidays will make us see bloodbath when it comes to altcoins. Even I remember the time when DOGE pumped so hard. I am expecting the altcoin season later next year after all tax filings are done. I think that we already might have passed the altcoin season because now most of the altcoins are rallying down similar to bitcoins. When bitcoins crossed $100,000 was the time when altcoins were rallying and I think that was the altcoin season.

Most might have missed the season but it will come back again if bitcoins recover in short term. If not, we might see bloodbath for a couple of months and will eventually see altcoins pumping again. Keeping a watch on most of the altcoins is a bit difficult to I prefer watching bitcoins alone because they give me a rough idea about where altcoins stand as of now. To be honest, I was so busy investing in bitcoins that I kind of forgot about the altcoins and that made me miss the opportunity. I do not regret though. I will be looking for another opportunity in the future.

We already are seeing some major altcoins dumping as they are following bitcoin's footsteps so I think this will only continue for a couple of more months before we can see the price stabilize.

I am still optimistic about the alt season. Mostly in bull run, bitcoins will be given all the priority so altcoins might seem a bit stable because there is not that that big of a fund flow but in situations like this where bitcoins are somewhere stable, people will look forwards towards altcoins as a better investment opportunity which can trigger a alt season.

I patiently wait for the alt season and really think that before the end of 2025, we might see some promising growth. I would like to make quick profits when we enter the alt season but will still not prefer holding my positions for a longer time as things might change really quickly.

When it comes to TA patterns, and repetition of them, big and long bear run was expected to start around this time.

Look at days from halvings or days from US presidents in office. I would have been very surprised if i kept on going, or if there would be some long term altcoin bull run (aka altcoin season). You might make money from bounces coming from the drop, if you are lucky enough to catch bottoms and sell the correction.

I would say that of end of 2026 would be more plausible target to buy the desperation, but i am not in a hurry. And it might take way more than that when it comes to confidence of investors.

I sympathize with your losses and I could only hope this would make you be more cautious next time with spreading your portfolio because altcoins could be so frustrating with the speed they fall with, which some can be difficult to recover especially after a big dump. Considering how bitcoin continues to fall pulling altcoins down, I think it's a calculated decision to actually cut losses if you're not confident about the altcoin you're holding from recovering than trying to be optimistic holding a coin that has met it waterloo.

30% loss sounds like too heavy and hope you will be able to recover in the near future. This year things were really quite difficult with altcoins. I mean, yes we saw altcoins reaching ATH but that happen so soon that we didn't even realize that was the altcoin season. We were so busy focusing on bitcoins that we might have overlooked towards altcoins. I missed the opportunity but I will not cry over the missed opportunity. As of now, I do not see altcoin season coming for a while. I have made up my mind to see some more drops coming the way.

Cutting loss is a good way to save our portfolio from being ruined but that will still make us end up in loss so maybe holding for long term can be a better option here. Yes, temporarily we might see losses but that will eventually turn into profits if we are ready to hold for a couple of years.

Mine is down as well but I have not dumped because I'm holding mostly Bitcoin and the established altcoins. I knew that in bear market, there is usually cases of some token not recovering that was why I focused on Bitcoin and some notable altcoins like Solana and BNB who I'm confident will not die when we enter bear market. I don't know if others do like me but I'm confident that I'm not making a mistake in my decision.

They decline so much that a recovery at ATH requires 40x gain which is crazy and that happened to majority of altcoins.
If I were them I'd wait for a bounce and then escape convert all the money to bitcoin since it's dipping and have higher chance of going up than some random altcoins.

Maybe we won't see the Altcoin season happen until the end of the year, previously when the bitcoin price had reached ATH many people thought that the altcoin season would happen at the end of this year but unfortunately the current market has experienced a correction where almost all tokens or coins in the market have lost almost half of their price, it seems the bull market has ended so we should prepare ourselves to face the bearish market and make every decline as a momentum to buy some altcoins that are worth holding in the long term while waiting for the altcoin season to arrive.

And to think that it needs 40x for that come back is sure a lot. Those who have been waiting are likely wanting to see it move like 100x.

But that's not going to happen anymore and you're right that even there will be some recovery, it won't be that much anymore compared to the past ATH where they have missed selling.

While this is unlikely on this situation, if it happens, that's also what I'll do if given some windows of escape to sell the altcoins that I still hold.

Yes, that's right. The altcoin season is no longer expected in the near future. And there are many reasons not to expect it. The altseason index also shows how poor the performance of altcoins has been this year compared to previous altseasons (Source). I personally assume that altseason will only happen if global financial conditions improve. And that's when investors from various backgrounds will start investing again in assets that are considered volatile. But at the moment it seems that investors are securing their assets in assets that are considered stable. We don't know whether next year will have the opportunity to experience altseason or even not. But we should make financial preparations to buy altcoins that are good for investment. So I personally feel that right now we need to save up to buy when altcoins experience an increasingly dump.
