Well, while I'm not a financial adviser, I would plainly say that whatever action you want to take should be predicated on two things – (one) the state of your financial standing and (two) the type of tokens you've invested in. If the cryptos you've invested in are utility based ones there's not much to worry about, especially if you don't have any emergency you need the invested cash for.

Since you're new in this industry, I doubt you will know how to identify utility based cryptos. It will be fine you asked whoever talked you into investing at a stage that's supposed to be for your learning to evaluate your portfolio and find out which should be disposed to cut losses. Without that, you will be selling off blindly.

Crypto market is totally unpredictable, no one has the crystal ball to see where the price will go, but we all know that it's either up and down. But you have to turn this negativity into something positive, just think of it as a lessons for us newbies and then try to understand that root cause and not make the same mistakes again. Alts are pure gamble especially that we don't know if they are going to last long since there are so many of it created for pump and dump schemes. That's why its so risky to trade if you don't have enough knowledge to deal with old or new alts in the market. I also consider those things as gambling because chance to get profit is questionable and we always need to pay attention on what we are trading or else we might lose big time especially if there's sudden down trend happens.

Hard to spot that coins will pump if Bitcoin experience a heavy dump. But if they are lucky there's good chance that they can able to earn good profits with those alts.

If i were you. I would be cutting loss my investment instead of hold it. Losing 50% portfolio is much better instead of losing 100% of your portfolios. We're in the bearish trend and none knows how big and long the dump that is occuring right now.

Did you buy when prices were high? Because that's the number one mistake newbie traders make when they join the crypto bandwagon. They just ride they hype, without doing their own research about the coin they're investing into. Not that I'm blaming you, ofc. If you want to play it safe, "stick" to trading top-tier cryptocurrencies with high liquidity. Preferably Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Litecoin. Altcoins (coins other than Bitcoin) are usually riskier than Bitcoin, so it's advised to only invest what you can afford to lose. You should put around 75% of your income into Bitcoin, while putting the rest into altcoins (15%).

Since market prices are declining right now, I'd suggest you hold on tight until the next bullish period (when market prices start going up again). Many are saying the "altcoin season" will begin after the FED (US Central Bank) begins to do QE (Quantitative Easing). That should happen within the next 2-3 months. It's likely major altcoins (those within the top 10 ranks in market cap) will skyrocket in price. But I would only be guessing. We'll see what happens in the long run.
