They've been saying for decades that usable fusion power (i.e., a fusion reactor that produces significantly more energy than it takes to run it) is five years away. It's like the mirage in the desert, keeps moving away as you think you're getting close. I'm starting to wonder if it will ever be accomplished. Imagine what a contribution this would make to humanity. No more need for fossil fuels and nuclear fission power, both of which are dirty and harmful. And practically limitless energy to run the bitcoin blockchain, no more worrying about energy costs.
I could try a Google search, but that would probably just deliver lies and misinformation. Does anyone on this forum have any knowledge or insights about the real possibility of this technology one day powering the world?
I watched a video on this a while ago. While we may invent?/discover? fusion in the next five years, it would still be decades before we had enough manpower and investment to replace fossil fuels. If it's possible, it will happen after the population reset. If it is not financially possible to simulate massive gravity with heat, it will never happen.
