By asking for "help" I presume you are begging for merits. Personally, I would never help a newbie such as your "Dexter kaycee" account grow.

I have read the three posts you have made to date and I am in no doubt at all you are an experienced member that has created a newbie account. The purpose for creating the "Dexter kaycee" account most probably has to be for the ultimate goal of enrolling in campaigns. The OP for this thread is a particular stand out for being written by a someone pretending to be a newbie.

In order to enroll in campaigns you need to rank up (or grow as you put it). I suppose from time to time, some of your other accounts will play a part in merit abuse in order for you to achieve that.

Thank you for bringing unnecessary attention to yourself, I am sure I will not be the only one to keep an eye on this so-called newbie "Dexter kaycee" account as it attempts to grow by seeking help from Legendary members.

I forgot to warn the OP. Your desire for PMs may one day come back to haunt you with a negative tag. Here's an example of one good forum member who, without further ado, invited old members to his interview thread to talk about themselves. He had no desire to gain merit; on the contrary, he was giving it away. As a result, he received a negative tag from an old forum member for bothering him with an unsolicited PM. The tag was later changed to neutral, but it still cost the user a lot of stress.
So, always think about what you're writing and to whom.

I think you don't need PM to learn, since you are already in this forum and can ask questions whenever you want. The biggest advantage is that experienced members will come here and explain the content of your question. The biggest thing is that if you ask an open question from a private message, many people will be able to answer it and newbies can read and learn from that answer.

However, you are probably in a hurry. If you really want to learn, then stop rushing. Spend a lot of time in the forum and read. Then you will be able to contribute to this forum someday. And when your contribution becomes valuable, you will also become a respected member. And I am trying to follow this rule myself.

With respect to accessing established members, some members set their message settings to not receive messages from newbies because of the likely experience they have had in the past. Most times, scammers with newbie accounts spam them with messages that are uncalled for and also send links that are corrupt, which also led most of them to restrict newbies from sending them messages, and you will agree with me that they do that for their own safety as well.

However, if you want to call their attention to you, you can create a topic on the right board where such a post fits better, then you can mention the names of the people you want to get their attention, and they would respond to you there in the open thread when they get a notification from your mention.  I believe this little tip could help you to get the attention of those you could not be able to send a PM to.

You can take your time to study what is making users to make progress in this forum, but mind you is quality post that is drawing legendary members to help newbies to grow. You don't have to pm Legendary members to grow, this is exactly the point, like he said, every one legendary member you see on this forum today was once a newbie like you, and we all went through the very same rules you are going through now, if we managed to scale through to reach the level we are in today, then understand that you too can achieve this very same level if only you will put in the work, the dedication, the discipline, the patience, and the knowledge required, and the beautiful thing here is that even if you signed up on this forum with zero knowledge, you will learn as you grow..

Every question, every confusion, every enquiry, like logfiles said can be used to create a thread in the beginners and help board, you don't need to pm anyone,, you will even get several answers and get to learn from different legendary members with different perspectives, isn't this better than seeking one person's opinion through pm?

Almost all the questions newbies are interested in have been discussed on the forum many times before (there are dedicated threads), so there's no need to send private messages to high-ranking users. Or do you want high-ranking users to send the same messages and discussions to every newbie thousands of times? Don't they have better things to do?

I often see newbies wanting someone to "teach and lead" them like a guide. I recommend getting rid of these illusions and starting to independently study the useful information available on the forum.

You can be independent and self-sufficient. Overcome laziness and stop waiting for a "guru" to teach you everything.

Well the forum is designed for the people to communicate and interact with the thread I guess you dont need to DM them just because you want to ask them how they reached what they have done in the community or in life, i guess observing them is quite enough to understand how they come up with that kind of situation. Also you can interact with them with the different thread or else you can follow them but its kinda creep out. I recommend try to observe first other member so you can get an idea and sooner or later you will notice that you are closer to their ranks too.

You have good intentions. But the every good user like you, there would be thousands of spammers who will misuse the change you are suggesting in your thread.

One minute we're celebrating a newbie, the next moment we're talking about suspicions on the same post? Op, what have you done to yourself at this point? Also, I never knew some usually take unsolicited PMs for a really huge deal; I don't find that very often so I don't have to deal with it.

Sorry about the inconveniences. I know that restriction is for a reason. Apart from preventing unscrupulous elements who register new accounts to send phishing links to others for the purpose of scamming them, another is to prevent newbies who may not know how annoying spamming inboxes can be. However, there's a way out if you want to get the attention of higher ranked users here. Just tag or quote them in any thread you find their posts you like and comment on them. You may want to use that opportunity to let them know you want to draw nearer for suggestions, advice or mentorship. If they've the time, they will welcome your request. You don't have to be in anyone's DM to get their attention. Some members may not even have the luxury of time to be checking their inbox.
