I agree with @OP that our circle (network) is our net worth if we can treat them well. We should cultivate our relationships better than before, we take their hands so we can walk together and build a strong, good and long term relationship. We grow together, help each other, and expand our limits.

We don't network for personal gain but we connect for mutual growth, strengthening our bonds as relationships and personally. We choose people who want to grow with us, not those who just want to use us.

So we need to wake up and realize. Checking around us to see who those people are and to start building a good relationship with them. Who knows one of them could be the next person to grow together.

That's a pretty good definition and I also do it in networking, I don't call it net worth but I call it an asset that we can reap in the future.

I am clearly for my personal benefit in the future, and this is where I start filtering people who have life value to make as friends, frequent discussions and also sharing knowledge is the key to someone being able to reach a good point in life in the future, people like this I always keep in touch, relationships or networking should not be arbitrary either, just because someone wants to grow together does not mean he will be an extraordinary network in the future, sometimes he is the one who hinders our development.

If you really want to grow your net worth, cut off is forbidden, instead don't too close with them.

It's popularly spoken that "iron shapeneth iron", a piece which I agree with to be correct. Meaning as I deduce from it, is that we should always associate with people that would grow us, make us develop is every aspect as your mind can think of. Move closer to those that are like-minded with your purpose and aspirations.
But never cutting off everyone who doesn't align with your purpose, creating a distance is advisable because at some point there are situations and services which you may need those persons to handle in your stead. Every person has a role they play, and only at when their time to play that role surfaces then you would understand it was better for a distancing than cutting of would have.

The truth is that Opportunities always come through people, through recommendations or approvals.The right friends that push you,the right mentors that guide you and the right circle that levels you up.When you understand the power of relationships, you stop networking for personal gain and start connecting for mutual growth.
You invest in people, not because you want something today, but because you understand that shared value creates shared wealth.

So I'll leave you with these questions:Who do you talk to the most?
Do they expand you or limit you?
If they don't change your circle (network) because your network is your net worth.Cultivate your relationships,invest in people,grow your garden and watch your life transform beautifully.

I like this perspective, OP. It makes sense that your circle can play such a big role in your success. But I wonder, how do you know when it’s the right time to cut people out of your network? I mean, some people aren’t toxic per se, they’re just not growth-oriented, you know? Is it a gradual process, or should you be more decisive? I'm curious to hear how others handle that.

Having a strong network can be rather useful for all different reasons, both socially and in business. However this generally comes from being a nice person and putting that little bit of extra effort in, but you must be sincere or it will not work. I have gradually progressed up the company heirachy and now have discussions with CEO's and directors on a regular basis in my line of work, which as long as you show competency is not that daunting. It takes years of self learned and shared experience to become an expert in a certain industry, but once you have it then you can prosper if you have some basic social skills. Everyone tends to form an opinion on someones competency within the first few encounters, so you better come across the way you hope.

Yep, people didn't realize if joining and maintaining on those circle is really hard, if you can't able to catch up their productivity, ideas, braveness, usefulness etc high likely they will avoid to interact with you because they see you as a someone who will make their life harder.

Why they have to care with someone else that didn't bring any money to them? they can just spend the same time and effort to make more money instead of help other people without any guarantee to get reward.

Motivation is not all about feeling, or hype in your blood it is also about environment so when we are in a group of people doing something, we are getting a lot of vibes from that group that we might not even notice until we become something we were not before.

A few days ago I read a post where op said our group tells a lot about us, therefore, when we are building network, we are not just giving them information, we are learning from them too. We realize a lot of things. I started to learn new skill as I plan to add content creation skills from content writing, as you might think what's the difference but in writing and creating things changes.

Anyway, I am learning and trying to teach to a cousin who is not giving much importance to what I say but want to make money anyway I am learning and teaching him and realized few things from him too and I think we can work with that so if I can notice it with just one person not a network I know it is not relevent even to this post but a thought I think worth sharing here.

We must share, as when we give we take something in too, we learn from them.

In today's world, and even in the past, our experience shows that it's very difficult to find loyal friends who will help us when we're in trouble. Some are there only when they need us, but all disappear when we need their help. This type of friendship is unhealthy, and I recommend leaving it. It's a bad network. However, it's a blessing to be surrounded by loyal friends who support us when we're in trouble. They are the ones who push us forward and motivate us to reach the pinnacle of success together. Once we find friends like this, I believe we should cherish and nurture them because being with loyal friends creates a team that then becomes a solid network.
