If they are not in the default location, simply indicate to Bitcoin Knots which folder they are in. The transition is then very smooth.
Step 1: Access the official page (bitcoinknots.org) and click download. If the page does not correctly identify your operating system, click on show other formats. If you are on Linux with a Ryzen or Intel processor, look for bitcoin-XX.X.knotsXXXXXXXX-x86_64-linux-gnu.tar.gz. Save it to your preferred folder and extract it;
Step 2: Close Bitcoin Core if it is running;
Step 3: Go to the /bin folder inside the Bitcoin Knots folder you extracted and double-click the bitcoin-qt file and you're done! Bitcoin Knots will start up just like your Bitcoin Core, using the same blockchain and wallets you already have, including the same bitcoin.conf file settings you're already using. Therefore, if it's already running via TOR, you don't need to make any additional configurations.
In the “Settings → Options” menu, there's a new tab called “Spam Filtering”:
