I have trouble about this seed phase, many crypto wallet I have opened before got lost because of seed phase, can't this seed phase be removed from wallet and allow pass key or some codes? Why is it that necessary? What's your opinion "seed phase or passed key?

You are having trouble storing the one thing that's most important in your wallet? I'm not surprised, that's literally why you end up losing access to your wallet. It's not that difficult to store your seed, you are just being lazy. You can feed your self off some centralized system if you so wish but remember, not your keys and not your coins. So long you don't have your seedphrase stored, the coins are not in your custody.

Seed phrase generate your private keys and these private keys generate public key to gives you an address. This is where your coins are technically lock, you need either your seed phrase or private key to unlock the coins, anything that makes you loss your seed phrase or the private key, your coin in the wallet address is gone. You can't it open with a password or pass key, only the seed phrase or private keys can unlock them.

You are very careless which is the main reason why you forget to keep your seed phrase safe. It will be useless for a wallet not to have seed phrase because it's your seed phrase that is your own secrete words which shows that the wallet belongs to you and no one else and provides an additional layer of security so that no one can access your wallet easily. If you lose your phone or it gets damaged. It's your seed phrase that you will use to have access back to your wallet by importing it to a new wallet. You should write down your seed phrase and make three copies each and keep them in three different locations so that, if one of them is missing, you can get it back from one of the locations that you kept the other two. Without the seed phrase in a wallet, you cannot get your bitcoin address to recieve coins because your wallet address is generated from your public key, and public key is generated from your private key that's generated from your seed phrase.

can't this seed phase be removed from wallet and allow pass key or some codes? Of course you can do that, it's called a brain wallet. But before doing this, you may want to read Collection of 18.509 found and used Brainwallets.

He wants to go for the lazy method which is the passkey that some wallets have, the passkey will require your biometry like fingerprint or face detection which can be used to have access to your wallet or be used for the recovery. I will prefer seed phrase to the passkey. I can not also go for anything that is related to paper wallet like brain wallet because I consider them old.

I can not also go for anything that is related to paper wallet like brain wallet because I consider them old. Bitcoin is even older than paper wallets, so that's not a valid argument to dismiss it. There are other reasons, but there are many reasons why paper wallets can still be used. Even a seed phrase written down on a piece of paper can be called a paper wallet.

Which wallet? You can use electurm to generate a wallet seed, and encrypt the file with a password and then access the wallet using that password. Many android wallets offer this option + PIN. If you want to use Bitcoin as an investment, there are many custodial wallets.

Technically, a paper wallet (created correctly) can be one of the best and safest way to store bitcoin. The difference that people fail to understand is that a paper wallet is not actually meant to be a wallet. It's more like a "put money there and forget about it" thing. It's more like a storage than a wallet. The purpose of a wallet is to be easily used for frequent transactions. And for this purpose, yes! the paper wallet isn't ideal. And of course the fact that a paper wallet is tied with a single address. Having said all that, if I had a significant amount of bitcoin and wanted to store it for a long time, without thinking about spending it soon, I would very easily create a BIP38-encrypted paper wallet and store my money there, without hesitation.

Yes but I will prefer what LoyceV said about it, to make seed phrase a paper wallet which will not require copy and paste but to write down the seed phrase. I can also use a private key of one of the addresses generated by a seed phrase for it. Paper wallet is good, it is brain wallet that is bad, I agree with LoyceV.

Passkeys are still relatively new and there are still compatibility issues. If you create a passkey that is synched through iCloud, but you damage your iPhone and don’t have an iPad or mac, then you won’t be able to restore your wallet on a Windows computer. You would have to buy a new iPhone.
Also, I don’t know what would happen if Apple or Google decided to shut down your account. You would need to have your passkeys stored in a way which doesn’t depend on centralized corporations to eliminate these risks, but that might not be practical for most people. I would rather just use a traditional hardware wallet, which has superior security and can be used with almost every popular software wallet on any operating system.

You can't just create a cold wallet on an online system where you can copy/paste the address, this needs to happen in a secure offline environment. Paper wallet is good, it is brain wallet that is bad, I agree with LoyceV. Don't you love the idea of having magic internet money in your brain? It can still be useful: I REGAINED access to Bitcoins in my made-up brainwallet! Just make sure you know what you're doing and don't risk too much.

There are three important steps that must be learned, practiced well by all cryptocurrency users. - Create a wallet (with mnemonic seed for example).
- Make wallet backups (should be multiple backups) and test your backups for recovery.
- If the second step is tested well (means you successfully use wallet backups for recovery to have same initial wallet), you can fund your wallet.
I don't know what you meant about pass key, what's this? Would you mind to explain what 'pass key' is in your thinking? More about wallet backups.

It's actually not difficult, even if you don't have an old printer. You can separate the parts before writing them, for example, to memorize a few characters. If you're unsure whether you've written them correctly, use a screen capture or MS Word (or Libre Office on Linux) to temporarily extract the privkey without saving it. Simply leave the window open during the process. Then, delete the wallet profile and restore it by writing the privkey as if it were a paper backup. If this doesn't work, you can still have the privkey backup in another open window to rewrite. Don't forget to disable the internet and clipboard storage before starting. That's where an old dumb offline printer comes in handy In my area, more types of printer ink are available that aren't waterproof, so I prefer to write it down manually. Or, combine the two: print in gray color, then thicken it with a black bold pen.

Don't forget to disable the internet and clipboard storage before starting. That's not enough. To create proper cold storage, you shouldn't use a system that will go online again afterwards. Either completely wipe it, or (much easier) use a Linux Live DVD. In my area, more types of printer ink are available that aren't waterproof Use a laser printer, laminate the paper.

In my area, more types of printer ink are available that aren't waterproof Use a laser printer, laminate the paper. This and also create more backups and do occasional health checks! It’s extremely more difficult to lose 2 backups at the same time, than losing your single backup. And it’s even more difficult to lose 3, etc. You will be surprised how difficult it is to lose access to all of your backups without realizing it! It’s almost impossible, if you are a little cautious, to lose all your backups at the same time By the way, apply BIP38, as an extra precaution (the only precaution actually) against thieves!

The mnemonic recovery phrase is what made restoring wallets so easy, it can be stored anywhere, as long as it's offline. If you're looking for a more practical way than that, you'll first have to rely on an alternative backup method and simulate a real recovery. There are wallets that allow encrypted backups via iCloud, Google Drive and others. There are also wallets that allow exporting the encrypted backup as a file (keystore), you can move this file to a flash drive, your online account on Cloud, etc. The security of the file will depend on the strength of the password used to encrypt it. If you find a wallet that allows backups more easily than this, it's probably a web wallet or a centralized wallet and it's insecure, it may not allow you to possess the private keys, which is essential. Soon, the Foundation, which develops an open source, airgapped hardware wallet, will release a new backup that will come with 3x NFC Backup KeyCards. Furthermore, it protects not only the recovery phrase but also all files saved on the device (2FA credentials, security keys, etc.). You can also set up a hot wallet in Envoy Wallet, an App from the same company (Foundation). I'll leave an article that explains all these details better: https://foundation.xyz/2025/07/magic-backups-how-do-they-work/

I think you didn’t value your assets; if not you could have kept your seed phrase in a safe place to prevent it from getting lost. You ask if the seed phrase can be removed from the wallet and allow a passkey or some other method of protecting keys to be used, but if you look at the seed phrase and the private keys, they are all working together, and that’s why they said the seed phrase generates our private keys. Because their strong protection of our wallets is better than using the passkey since it is also just like authentication to secure our wallets.

The idea behind seed phrases Is actually a more secure form of storage. If passwords were used instead of seed phases, the crypto system will break due to many reasons including ease in brute forcing. What this means is people can just get an address with huge funds and brute force it getting the right PIN within a few days. However for seed phrases it's much more complex and near impossible to brute force. A 4 digit pin has roughly just 10 4 permutations but a 12 word seed has up to 2 128 bits of entropy.

a 12 word seed has up to 2256 bits of entropy. You're off by 12 words, or a factor 2 128, assuming you used a list of 2048 different words.
