If you bet a $1 and you win $100 but you lose it all again the next round you bet, is it really your money that you lost even though you just won that $100? More like you lost the potential of having that amount of money which is why it hurts but if we are being honest it should be easy to move on because that money did not exactly come from your own wallet. Do you find yourself harder to move on if you lose money from a huge win even if you just bet only a small amount?
To save my mental health, I do not process my gambling wins and losses in this manner. I would rather take whatever outcome in my strides knowing the odds were not in my favour and that my aim was to have as much fun as I could.
Going philosophical because lost money from a huge win even if I had just bet only a small amount is a disastrous. One of the ripple effect is chasing the loss.

Most of the times we find it that it hurts much more when you win from a small deposit and then you go and lose it all because of the adrenaline that keeps you hooked there without not really knowing what we are doing. Yesterday I lost like 10 dollars which I wanted to play a bit of poker and it went wrong for me, did not hurt at all as for 10 dollars lost no gambler really cares. A couple of days ago I got some bonus and decided to gamble it, I won a lot as I got from a small amount to near 1000 dollars which I lost as kept playing. This hurts a whole lot more than when you lose directly the money like I did in poker. It hurts because I was thinking after I lost what a mistake as I could have used that extra money buying some gifts before festivities.

Of course everyone will find it difficult to move on when they win big and lose it again. What you have to understand is that when you stake up a $1 game and win$100, it has automatically become yours because even if you wanted to withdraw it or not. So if you win now and you gamble with it an lose it, you have lose your money because it comes from your bankroll. How do you explain winning $1000k with $10 and losing it because of chasing loses and claim it is not yours.

You are quite correct but you should know that any money that has entered your possession and you have access to it and you can literally use that money to do anything is your money so that is why sometimes it hurt when a gambler win a huge amount of money and later squander it all in the name of trying to double up or win more but it is unwise for a gambler to win a huge amount of money and squander it in a short period of time and I think a gambler feel hurt the most if they lost the money in a single or double time of gambling but if it is been used up gradually I think they won't feel it that much but the effect is greater when a gambler lost all at a time.

Do you find yourself harder to move on if you lose money from a huge win even if you just bet only a small amount?
This has happened to me many times in gambling. I won from $5 to a maximum of $400 but lost everything due to my overconfidence. After losing, I wonder why I didn't withdraw. It's not difficult to move forward. But if you win a lot from small bets, it would be wise to withdraw 50% of it and bet with the rest of the deposited money.

Yes it is your money the moment you win that $100. Same with trading. You buy low and sell high, where does the profit come from? From someone else. Just like how gambling works. However the moment you see the profits in your account, from that moment on, they are yours till you lose them at least. That’s how your logic should work. After you lose your profits, If you think “those profits didn’t belong to me anyway” that would be lying to yourself. They were yours, for a while at least. Just like how they were someone else’s before they were yours. No need to make things over complicated imo. Life is better when you get less philosophical about these things. If you go full socrates (or whoever it is your favorite thinker) , you’ll end up saying “We don’t own anything” which is not true. We own things and that’s what capitalism is all about. Property ownership.

Definitely, it's your money lost. Once you've any win, that money becomes yours because you will have a claim to withdraw it or continue gambling with it. It's even worse if everything is lost later as the gambler won't be thinking of the initial stake as what's lost. Let's use the scenario you painted. The gambler won't be thinking they lost the staked amount ($1) but the win amount ($100) as what they've lost. That's why the most sensible thing to do once there's a win is to withdraw a substantial part of the win and then exit gambling for that day. It's so that one doesn't get too carried away and waste one's funds because of one's state of mind with the excitement that accompanies winning.

This has always been the result of the gamblers that normally believe on confidence in gambling, because they always have this feeling that winning is easy to get in gambling forgetting that luck plays a significant role in determining the final outcome.

However, as a responsible gambler that normally gamble fun and entertainment wouldn't hesitate to call it a day when experiencing winning regardless of the amount.

It's usually not a burden, but we can't enjoy it because we try to double it again and end up losing it all. That's common here and in the trading world. You should save first and use some of the profits you've already made, don't just go all-in just because you happen to have a little luck in your early game that day.

Everyone's mindset is certainly different. Be careful, and it's not a significant problem even if you lose, even if you have that mentality, but without increasing your capital, your losses are limited to $100. This means it's purely about enjoyment, not about being greedy and constantly folding.

When a gambler loses the money they've won due to a subsequent loss, it's still your money, regardless of how much capital you used.

One reason is because you earned it yourself—not a gift from someone else or a gamble you didn't involve anyone else with. Simply put, it's the result of your luck, so in my opinion, it's your money. However, moving on from that loss is difficult because you've already seen a large sum of money that you could have easily enjoyed. On the other hand, this is also why we need to know when to stop.

Literally speaking, any amount we win in gambling is ours, even if we say it's just $1 of our money and we manage to turn it into $100 that's our money, which is why we gamble.
That's why there's a withdrawal option, because most people who do this are winners in gambling.

Where they've already exceeded the amount they put into their gambling, accompanied by luck, so they can take home winnings from the online casino, unless it's just a demo account you used, in which case you can say it's not really ours.

Of course, it's your money if you win it and it's deposited into your account. How you spend it is entirely your decision. If you feel better thinking it's easy money and then lose, then that's fine. But in reality, it's your money, and I'd treat it as if I earned it. After all when you earn money at work, you treat it carefully and plan how to spend it, and I think it's worth doing the same here. When I lose my winnings, it never makes me feel better; it's still a loss.

Who wouldn't want to lose $100 from a big win that's right in front of your eyes? But in the next bet you lose it all it's actually hard to move on because you feel sorry for losing that much money even though the initial capital is only $1.

If $100 is your money then it is already yours... but you can be reckless because you feel that the money comes from winning so it seems meaningless, then for me it is not so... if I have won from $1 to $100 then it is my money that must be defended.

If you gamble with $1 and you used it to win $100, that $100 has become your money because you can decide to withdraw the money. I will not be happy with losing the money at all, but I trust myself because only what I will do if I use $1 to win $100 is to withdraw the money immediately and I will not also think of gambling that week again.

I agree with you, the money automatically becomes your own after winning you are in total control and possession of the money and because of that lossing it back doesn't change anything to say or feel that the money is not your own, it is shortsighted if anyone will tell himself that such money doesn't belong to them simply because it was lost at last, the question is what if the money was not used for gambling and maybe something else? It is very simple any money won is your money and does not require any form of debates.

Your money is gone with your winnings. But if you can stop gambling after winning $100, you will have that money and enjoy it. You regret losing $100 and not regretting $1. That is the biggest loss you will difficult to forget. You will not think about $1 but $100 as that is the winning money if you can stop yourself. Regretting is normal but you don't have to be sad for too long. You should realize that it is gambling where anything can happen.

If you bet a $1 and you win $100 but you lose it all again the next round you bet, is it really your money that you lost even though you just won that $100?

Exactly, maybe what the OP tries to drive off is that it could be just a paper lose because you literally didn't hold it. But that is the wrong mindset, I think you already won that money and should be yours technically.

That is the thing, it's the greed that kills everything for us. Just imagine you have won that kind of money already and yet the OP didn't think to withdraw and continue to gamble it right away because he might think that it's not his money.

If losing is painful, it means it's an amount you can't afford to lose. So, only gamble with an amount you can afford to lose. If you win, withdraw some of it, so the amount you use to play remains small and doesn't hurt if you lose.
Also, if you feel the pain of losing even a small amount, it's better not to gamble, as it can damage your mental and financial well-being.

A loss is definitely still a loss, no matter how it is painted to make it look good.
I have played a bet sometimes back and won a meager amount. I didn't think of withdrawing it, I used it all to place yet another bet and lost it all.
Therefore, I think one can decide to withdraw a win if the amount is substantial enough, but when it isn't worth much after withdrawals, what's the need, why not bet on to better your luck.
The only thing I can advise is to wait till another day, probably the next day to use that amount won to bet of fresh games.

It is a bad idea to chase losses and even more dangerous to chase wins.

Losing money earned from a big win will feel more painful than losing the amount of money deposited when wanting to gamble, that feeling is only felt by some gamblers. Usually this feeling arises because you feel that the money is already yours or more precisely, the money is still in the process as long as you have not completely stopped playing to withdraw the money. I will not regret anything that happens afterward because every decision purely arises from expectations on the next bet, I will put aside emotions and feelings so as not to be too disappointed after losing the money that has been won, even though the money is a large amount because the results depend on luck.

In my case, I wouldn't be sad as long as I bet $1, won $100, and only lost $99, keeping my $1 (which is what I deposited in the betting site). That's what I've been doing. Whenever I make a profit, I start betting with the winnings and withdraw my principal from the betting site. This way, I only bet with the winnings and don't worry when I lose because I'm only losing profit, not money from my own pocket. Now, when I lose money from my own pocket, it becomes a little worrying because I have to deposit it back into the betting site. Of course, I always deposit an amount of money that I can afford to lose. But even so, I try not to lose money in the betting site.
