I don't even understand why you say or think that a gambler is not supposed to react to this kind of loss, maybe if it happens to you, you might not react or you can easily get over it but everyone is not the same. Let's assume you invested $1k into Bitcoin and the following day the price has surged and doubled your money, would you assume that the profit that you have made from this investment is not your money or would you be happy if after making the profit on your investment, you just lose it? Winning in gambling is withdrawal, if you win such a big amount, you have to make withdrawal first before you continue.
Gamblers are entitled to get uneasy on themselves if they loss a big amount in gambling but where am concerned is the reason why anyone gambles with what they can not let go, gambling has rules which is gambling at ease without getting your mind unnecessary stressed when your bet goes the other way. I like the place here you said the definition of wining in gambling is the amount we withdraw, you are very correct, the reason why some person will continue to complain as the gamble is because they are greedy, the want to win very big with the amount they have won already and I'm the process they will lose it and continue complaining.

The regret is there, but moving on should be easy. First, it's the gambler's fault for being greedy. My fault if I am the example. I will probably be a bit angry about it and probably blame myself for the mistake, but that should never last long, or else we will be doomed to chasing back the win that we experienced.
The best way to do after that happens is to think that you only used $1. It will be easier to move on that way and the frustration will probably gone in just a few hours.
IMO, it is very difficult to control greed at the casino tables. When we lose money here , we try our best to recover it and lose it again. And when we win money, we want to win even bigger amounts of money, and at the end of the day we find that we have lost everything. This is why I consider online sports gambling safe. Here I get a lot of time to make decisions. I can analyze the information about the matches properly and make a decision to place a bet. The most important thing is that here I get enough time to control myself. So there is less chance of getting too greedy all of a sudden.

It's true that the money doesn't come from your wallet but if you play and win $100 doesn't it become your money? Don't just underestimate or console yourself because the money didn't come from you because in fact the money is already in your account balance means you can use it for other purposes outside of gambling. To be honest, losing a sizable amount of money can be difficult to move on because you might regret not withdrawing it.

Any money you win through gambling is yours. It is yours because you can withdraw the money right away and spend it as you like, that sounds like your money doesn't it. However, it is up to you if you decide to gamble the money and lose it to the house, you could also gamble the money and win more money, so it could go both ways, but the point is that it is your money to do as you please.

Do you find yourself harder to move on if you lose money from a huge win even if you just bet only a small amount?
After all, it is a defeat, which of course is not pleasant. Even though the loss was actually only a small investment, the previous win could still be a source of regret for me. I should have won a pretty big amount from my capital, but I wasn’t satisfied and decided to continue betting, and the nightmare happened. A loss like that might be harder to forget than losing all your capital in a single gaming session.

If you bet a $1 and you win $100 but you lose it all again the next round you bet, is it really your money that you lost even though you just won that $100? More like you lost the potential of having that amount of money which is why it hurts but if we are being honest it should be easy to move on because that money did not exactly come from your own wallet. Do you find yourself harder to move on if you lose money from a huge win even if you just bet only a small amount?
Assuming you own only $1 in your bankroll and you win $100You then aftersometime you emptied your bankroll. So you are asking if I lost my money on that gambling engagement? Well I have $1 that is the fund of my bankroll before I win $100 and I emptied my bankroll so the answer would be yes it is really my money (the $1) that I lost to gambling platform. About moving on.. I find it easy, maybe because I have already conditioned myself to not expect anything and consider the money that I gamble already a lost.

This is simple and logical, if a gambler bet $1 and he was able to win $100, that money he won is no longer potential but money he can withdraw instantly if he wish to not continue gambling again for that day but if in the course of gambling again he lost everything, then the money is no longer his, he has lost all the money back to the casino. If he walk away and m withdraw the money and didn't gamble again, the money will be either on his bank account or in his wallet. I don't find have anything that hold me back anytime I lose because I don't do like you explain. Take a moment and look at your explanation again. If I can make a bet and I'm able to win $100 with just $1, why should I use the $100 to make a bet again. What happen to the same strategy that gives the $100 in the first place. If I'm gambling $1 and I have to try 10 times and within that trial I will make $100 I will gladly do it than bet $100 at once.

Yes, brother, it hurts more to lose the opportunity to win than to lose a bet. afaik, neuroscience also supports this, Gamblers brains dont just calculate how much they lost but also how much more they could have won, replaying those old bets over and over again. If only I had bet a little more - is the main reason for chasing and taking risks. I have seen many times that gamblers repeat those regretful bets over and over again, as if they want to make up for those missed opportunities. Yes, that is right, even if the money comes from small bets, it feels like it's theirs emotionally and losing it hurts more than the thought.

Very nice and simple thread Op. In my entire life, I have only been abel to regard a money of mine as that one that is directly on my custody. In gambling once you have placed a bet, the money is no more your on your decision and until you hit the green light it is still not yours. So what am I saying? Money lost is gambling had already been at risk with over 90% vulnerable to lose from when the game was ongoing. So it is very unhealthy to crave recovering it because you will always have to win by luck.

Let's say you're aiming at something but then you have to make some sacrifices and investment to achieve that, at that moment the money ain't yours because you lost it and it didn't yield anything.but the moment you win with the certain amount you betted with that money eventually becomes yours cause logically you've worked for it. So when I bet small I don't regret it and I move on but once I obtain a jackpot you know what that means right.

I would think the opposite. If you are losing house money, who really cares? It's like crypto traders that were taking profits a dozen years ago... They're playing with house money now. Even if it is all lost, who cares? If it isn't your spending money, it is just numbers on a computer screen. Easy come easy go as the saying goes... I think if this is something you seriously struggle with, then you need to learn to take profits because it seems like you are gambling with more than you can afford to lose, which is a bit hard to believe if the bankroll started with a $1 bet.

Yes, this has happened to me many times, when I thought I should have bet more, and then imagined how much money I could have won. But this is simply a trap of our brains, and we must rise above this, because that word "if" ruins everything. We must think here and now about what bet size to choose and find the right moments, rather than destroy ourselves emotionally thinking about what we could have done. I still prefer to watch what the professionals do, and they certainly don't dwell on the past, but look for new opportunities in future games.

First thing first,it would be very irresponsible for a gambler to return he's significant win back to a casino, probably most irresponsible gamblers think gambling is an investment that it's profit appreciate over time, they neglect the fact that each session on a game in the gambling industry is independent and the chances of winning over and over doesn't necessarily depend on your previous wins.Back to your question,if the money really belongs to the gambler? ofcourse yes,he didn't point a gun at the casino and demanded for the $100 so it was he's, but he failed to withdraw it immediately after he won.

The reason why some people always find it hard to move on, even when they lose the money they won from a bet, is because they already had plans for that money. It is not mostly about where the money came from; before losing it, they already felt attached to it. As far as they have won it, it just seems like the money has already become theirs. So no matter the amount someone wins from betting, if they lose it again, it will still pain them because once they win the money, they may have already set plans for it. So I just feel that it is the same pain someone may go through as the person who did not win and also lost a reasonable amount of money, because even those who bet with money they did not win also have plans. The money they want to use for betting is always a 50/50 chance.

From your illustration if we are to lose the entire $100 despite winning it from a bet, part of the money still belongs to the gambler since the $1 used by the gambler is still part of the $100. Therefore, the money that was lost belongs to the gambler. Even if a gambler should lose only the money won from betting, they will feel hurt since it is possible they have incur heavy losses from previous gambling.

Of course it is, 1 dollars gave you a profit of 99 dollars, whether like it or not that's the profit you made which makes it your money. We all have different ideas when it comes to this, some gamblers don't mind when they lose the entire amount of money won but personally I consider it as my money and losing it is going to sting a bit. Thats the reason why I don't stake more than 20 percent of the profits I make

Know that not only one person is gambling, the more you're doing so, the same applies to others as well, some are winning and some are losing, when you win, it eventually turns your money, maybe from the losses on other gamblers or from the casino purse or reserved money, same also applies if we lose all, some are cashing it out on their own winning or taking it from the casino reserve fund depending on the amount won, we can see that most casinos also have money in reserve before operating.
When you win that money you won does not just come from nowhere, it came from other players who lost or from Casinos house edge or sometimes from their reserve funds if the payout is good and huge enough and it is the same thing that happens when you also lose your money goes to someone else's win or straight into the pockets of the casino. That is why if you notice, casinos never panic when someone hits a jackpot as they have already calculated that over time the house edge collects way more funds than it pays out to gamblers and the reserve funds only become like an insurance for those rare days when too many people win at once. So it is safe for you t understand the fact that whenever you celebrate a win, another person somewhere else is crying over the same money or a part of the money which has been remitted from their own lost.

If you won the $100 from gambling and a worker there came to snatch it from it you would scream give me back my money. You win $1 or $100 that money is yours because you won it and if you lose it later on, you lost your money, you did not lose the potential of having the money because the money is already yours and if you wanted to leave you will be leaving with your $100 .

Of course, because you’ve lost the potential of what that winning can bring you, some of the things that will pop into your head are that you could have bought stuff that you always wanted to buy, or you could have paid your loan. You will end up blaming yourself for that loss of money. It’s much easier to accept losing your bets than winning and then losing it all, even if the money you use to bet is a small amount.

Since you have already won the bet, then the money is already yours. If I win a bet, and I lost after I keep on gambling, it’s really going to pain me because I will wish I didn’t continue gambling, I wouldn’t have lost the money back. If i win, and i lose the amount back, it’s not going to be so painful like losing the initial amount which I deposited. I find it annoying when I bet big and lose everything, if I bet small and win big, if I end up losing the money, it’s not really going to affect me.
