If you bet a $1 and you win $100 but you lose it all again the next round you bet, is it really your money that you lost even though you just won that $100?
So you would be back to square one, the same place where you started from.

But correctly speaking, you have lost money that was yours. That 100$ lost could have been yours to keep if you had withdrawn it and left the casino. Choosing to bet again will open chances of win or loss on the new wager. Because it is your money you can wager on it, its not like you are wagering the casino's money which the casino is lending to you,

So it is your money and how you spend it is your choice.

If you bet a $1 and you win $100 but you lose it all again the next round you bet, is it really your money that you lost even though you just won that $100? More like you lost the potential of having that amount of money which is why it hurts but if we are being honest it should be easy to move on because that money did not exactly come from your own wallet. Do you find yourself harder to move on if you lose money from a huge win even if you just bet only a small amount?

There is a similar thread. However, I would like to point out that it is unlikely that betting on the $100 you just won is a good idea. But if you did that and lost, then you lost $1, but you ruined your mood by $100. As a result: there is neither a dollar (which it was not a pity to lose), nor a positive mood, instead of which there is a gloomy regret about his rashness or bad luck. Well, that's something like that.

If you already won $100 bucks means you have realized your profit, which mean that $100 is already your money. If you're then losing it back means you already realized your losses, which mean your already lost your money. Gambling is kinda different with trading when there's no impermanent lose. When you win or lose, you already realized it and it's permanent.
Losing your money from winning in the previous back is obviously disheatening for everyone. You were gambling for the profit, not to lose.

I often have such thoughts, but the end result is that I don't care if I lose that amount again, or even more, because my capital only represents 1% of all the profits. But remembering it is painful, but dwelling on it won't help things get better. We still have to live, so don't dwell on it too much; over time, the incident will be forgotten.

It's different when we lose money that we actually own. For example, if we deposit $100 and it's all gone, that's sometimes what I think about more.

You have already laid a sacrifice by using your 1$ to make sure you win something, but is fine!
What if you lose it to the casino and you didn't win won't you also find it very hard to let it go?
Definitely you could be very that angry with yourself for losing such huge amount of money while gambling, again, such amount could be what you can accept to lose but immediately you lost it while gambling there is this spirit of weakness that could fall on you because you lose it while trying to multiple the money.

Someone who will find it very hard to let it go if they lose $1 in gambling should not be gambling in the first place, losing $1 and freaking out because of that shows that you are imbalance with your life, someone like that should go out and look for a better job first and get their shit together, a $1 is too small to change any bodies mood.

I am not trying to be rude but such people are real broke asses, the solution to their problem is not gambling, what sacrifice are you even talking about? With $1? Don't be ridiculous, all you lose is time but in exchange for excitement, atleast you have a great time? Gambling promised no man anything, if you gambling with the mind that you will surely make something back you are fooling yourself, gambling should be more than trying to make money and that is why you must not risk what you can't afford to lose.

The gambler who couldn't stop lost the entire maximum amount, in our case, $100. He could have stopped and withdrawn the money, but he decided to keep playing. While these were just numbers on the screen, they are still money, and neither gamblers nor bettors should forget this. After all, no one forced the new bet button on this gambler's behalf. And anyway, we're talking about a guy who won a hundred times his bet. Didn't he really know he needed to stop, since his luck had run out?

Sometimes I've been in a situation where I had a large sum of money in my account after a win, but I decided to keep playing and lost it all. I remember standing there with a goofy grin, unable to believe it had just rushed past me. Well, this is a common occurrence in gambling. There are countless stories of guys who spent hours playing slots and multiplied their initial investment hundreds of times, only to find themselves with nothing a few minutes later. Is there really a better test of greed than this? It's not for nothing that there's so much talk about self-control.

Once that 100 dollars lands in your account and you can be able to withdraw it, they will automatically become your and not.house money any more. The moment you are able to withdraw, then it is yours both legally and morally and if you leave it and decide not to touch it and lose it again then just know that you have just lost your own money exactly the way you lost the first 1$ you deposited.

Situation explained by OP is so confusing, that is start to look like an excuse for losing money. Turning $1 into $100 and losing all is not losing at all, but having fun with someone else money, or gambling for almost free. I want to see how OP will explain gains or losses from crypto exchange or price changes. For me, everything that I have won or lost are my money. Actions that I do with those money are under my responsibility.

Well, don't make it difficult, as you just lost $1 while the casino made a profit of $99 from other gamblers. Every win that a gambler makes is a loss for others, and the casino loses nothing. If you can't accept that you lose after winning. Much more than those who never had. So better not complicate the situation. Instead, accept the fact that the casino just takes their money back from you. And if you continue to gamble, the more the casino will take from you.

Don't bother with those amounts. Instead, just enjoy gambling.

It's funny sometimes how gambling messes with people mind, that's why losing profit money sometimes hurts just as much as losing your own cash, when you bet $1 and win $100 then when you lose it all in next round, you only lose $1 which is yours. That you started with, but because you saw $100 in your balance, your mind start treating it like it was yours, but at times what hurts is not your own money, but losing the potential of what that $100 can do.

For me, as long as the money is mine, and even if it's from winning a $1 bet, that $100 is still mine. So, consider it the result of my hard work in gambling. And I have the chance to withdraw it. If I get tempted and bet all the money again, that means my money is gone, and I still lose $101 in total. After all, I should be able to withdraw that $100 if I don't use it for betting again (minus fees).

That's why it's crucial to manage our bankroll, or assets, on a betting platform. At the very least, we need to understand how much money we should spend each day, how much money should be in our deposit account, and how much winnings should be withdrawn immediately when gambling. This helps limit and minimize recurring losing streaks, which can worsen losses.

Obviously the money is mine, so long as I have realized it. so losing it back is as if I Lost my own money, I could remembered my first time of wining in gamble then I never thought about stopping in that initial time but to keep gambling hoping that my luck is still there.

but funny enough I lost everything in the process of trying more luck and when I told my friends about it they start blaming me that I would have run away with the wining and I really felt it because it was as if I Lost my hard earned Money because the money has been confirmed and also withdrawn to my bank so returning the money back to my betting account is more like making a fresh deposit.

I was thinking you were going to say something different from what you have said, like I've initially said in my previous comment, every money we have won is automatically ours and it doesn't matter whether or not we have withdrawn the money from the casino, that money belongs to us (technically though), if we decide to keep gambling and in the process lose all the money, it's very safe to say we lost $100 If this amount was the amount we lost in the last game..

Op may be thinking that slogan like "not your keys, not your crypto" still applies to things like this but no, "not your keys, not your crypto" only applies to money we move from our personal wallet to a centralised exchange as an initial capital for either trading or investment, if you trade with this money and make profit, the profit is technically yours, we can't say it's belongs to the exchange, saying or believing such makes no sense absolutely..

Wrong. You have lost $101 and not $1. It seems that you are the one who has a messed up mind, usually it is easy to sway the mind of an addict.

Yes, it is. You can treat it differently for your mental gymnastics but it is still money that you have lost. It can be quite funny how hypocritical people are, using all kinds of false rationalizations to justify their bad behavior and cope with negative outcomes. All for the sake of avoiding admitting that they have done something wrong. The same people who would claim that this is not money that you lost would jump on a lottery winner who spent all of their won money on stupid stuff in a few years.  Roll Eyes

People are confusing something else here. The difference only applies to starting money and total outcome. If I start gambling with $100 and then grow my balance to $1000, even if I lose $800 I have still come out on top (profit). Both things can be true at the same time:
1) I am still in profit with my gambling adventure.
2) I have lost $800 with my gambling adventure.

Small minds have issues dealing with seemingly contradictory statements, especially when both are true simultaneously.

If a person bets one dollar and wins $100, then later his desire to gamble will increase and he will then think about why he did not bet $100 or more instead of one dollar. These thoughts will affect his decision-making later, for the first time he will think in the future that he should gamble with a larger amount of money, when he thinks this, he will bet more money and when the result goes against him, he will be more aggressive and he will continue to gamble more aggressively, which will show that his money is being seriously damaged and he is also in a bad financial situation. Whether he wins or loses by gambling, he should take time before the next gamble, plan and then gamble. Doing anything unplanned does not bring success.

Exactly, if the money's already been won, it's ours. It doesn't make sense to see it as if it wasn't his money after all, because that would be a psychological justification for his bad gambling. It's like saying, "I won $1000 with $10, so I'll gamble recklessly and irresponsibly. It doesn't matter if I lose it all again, I only invested $10." I would recommend that if this is a recurring behavior for the OP, he changes it before it's too late!

The money and decisions belongs to the gamer, but on a general term all money goes to the house. Despite the chances of withdrawal, the player is probably compelled to lose more than $100 in subsequent sessions. Losing an immediate win can be saddening, especially in an occurrence like the op, the gamer wouldn't wish to have lost all that after a lucky day.

Do you find yourself harder to move on if you lose money from a huge win even if you just bet only a small amount?

I don't usually find myself in that situation, despite the experiences of other people we see on the forum. When I win enough, I know when to stop and cash out. Sometimes, instead of one big win, I get several medium wins in a row, but they raise my bankroll to a level where I think I can cash out, so I continue a little longer, but I never come close to those extremes of losing everything, as we've seen many times on the forum.

If you bet a $1 and you win $100 but you lose it all again the next round you bet, is it really your money that you lost even though you just won that $100? Of course. No matter how much I bet if I win that money is mine and if I lose on the next bet it will be spent from my wallet. Most gamblers make the mistake of not feeling bad about losing the money they win. They think that it is just part of the extra profit but if they could stop gambling after winning and withdraw that money they could enjoy it as they fulfill their needs with the money they earn. Gambling should be done seriously considering the money they win as an important part of their principal without overestimating it because many gamblers lose many bets simply by neglecting it.
