It's normal that you stop playing for a while, it's true that even if you target a lower odds matches you'll be losing if you're on a lose streak (I experienced that a lot of times, even until now). What I do is either stop playing or just watch the live matches especially esports but lately, what I do is go to their original games (yes not from the third party) and run some automated dice game, I know that my strategy is not working all the time but most of the time I managed to win back at least half of my losses and goes back to sports betting after some time. In that way, I managed to pause in sports betting and recover some of my losses from it.

How to handle it?
Not actually a tough question because I already thought about it. The simple thing that I did was forget about the losses and restart. Yes, restart. It's like a brand new betting plan, and I try to forget about all the losses from that streak.
Mentally, as I said, it's about moving on as fast as you can and trying to forget about it. If we cannot do that, we might fall into a deeper problem because we are trying to chase those losses.

I think the max losing streak I’ve had in the NBA is around 5. That’s why it crossed my mind….. what if I try using a martingale strategy in sports betting? I’ve never experienced a 10-game losing streak, so with a max of 5, maybe there’s a chance to come out profitable for the whole season.

If I start with $20 as base, the max I could lose with a 5-game losing streak is around $620. I think I can still live with that. Hmm… should I actually try this or maybe start even smaller so if it fails, it won’t hurt that much?

I could not recall that I ever had series of losses with my betting, hardly I had two consecutive losses and then I became more selective and tighten my analysis along with taking a short break up to a week, might have helped me to hit. Usually I do follow all these after every loss but sometimes I faced my 2nd loss in a row as well but fortunately I managed not extending my losses after the 2nd one.

In my experience, taking a break is more important for handling losing streak. If you desperately continue your betting, then obviously you will have longer streaks.

Moreover, betting on your favourite team/player or simply the sport that you are closely watching must help you to prevent losses. We cannot avoid losses in sportsbetting but we can definitely avoid longer streaks of losses unlike dice or slots if we are careful on basics.

I may not point a direct duration on it but I have had a fair share of losses that made me take a break to check on the issue. I use some sites for it and one thing that happens with those sites is they get it correctly few times and sometimes it fails. So at those losing streaks, I change few of them, blaming me it on them  . Now I know better that it is not about the sites but that gambling isn't all that straight with winning. I now do with money management, do a personal research and if there is losing streak, I take a break and come back when I feel it is time to take another shot.

It is hard to say how exactly, it has been a long time since this happened. I've generally had relatively good results and I've used the proceeds from the games to upgrade and buy other hardware that I needed. Simply by doing this I assured that I would come out with a positive result. I started with $100 and only reused winnings to play further. Eventually though the things changed and I experienced a losing streak of 10-20 bets which practically drained all my play money from this experiment. I never took on betting seriously again after this, because I know that if I do and if I lose again I could end up with an overall negative result. Therefore, these days I only sometimes play for fun. A losing streak is irrelevant if you sometimes play with $1-$2.

Not this again. Martingale is not a strategy. Nobody has ever gotten rich from martingale. It is a sure way to go into bankruptcy. You could end up in a 100 game losing streak until you bankrupt yourself or your family. Find a proper way to place bets, or don't play at all. How many threads about martingale are needed for people like you to understand that it is shit?

I prefer multiple bets and high odds, so long losing streaks (20+ bets) are normal for me and I don’t worry about them. I'm currently on a losing streak, and it's quite annoying. Many multiple bets have been lost due to literally one outcome. For example, a bet with odds of 40+ was lost due to PSG failing to beat Lorient. Mentally it’s unpleasant, but financially there are no problems, since here I am disciplined and everything is under control.

If you talk about sports betting, in my experience while betting on sports betting I have never experienced a situation like what you said, where the losses lasted/streaked throughout the day, so I have not yet looked for ways to overcome financial losses or mental stress.

The reason is, I don't place bets in one place, for example in the English Premier League.

Joeperry is right. Stop playing for a while, you will start reminiscing on what you are doing so wrong, and where you actually made a mistake.

Another advantage of stopping for a while is that you will learn the hard way; next time you start gambling, you won't need anyone to tell you when to quit.

I have never been in a long losing streak because I only gamble on weekends.

I don’t remember the exact number of consecutive losing bets, but it was in a previous World Cup edition. It was quite frustrating when I seemed to force myself to bet on every match.
Financially, it was actually a slightly larger amount than my usual allocation, so I wasn’t really affected financially, though there was some impact. But mentally, of course, it had an effect. My loyalty to a particular club in the last session resulted in the longest losing streak. It lasted for about six or more games until I stopped betting because of my love for a club. Since the amount lost was not significant, it didn’t have much emotional impact. It was easy for me since my losses didn't cost me too much financially. Secondly, changing strategy, like ending the sympathy bet, helped to end the losing streak. The quality of the club and not loyalty should be the basis for placing bets.

I can't remember correctly but I guess my longest losing streak was 10 it was really funny how I kept throwing my money in a hole, you know while I was doing this i didn't keep record which is why I didn't realize how many times I lost but there's a certain stage where I decided to check my bet history, and I noticed that I have never had one single win ever since I started.

So to avoid increasing the losing history I just decided to take some break for like 2weeeks, and funny enough the day i decided to go back into gambling my first attempt went successfully, though this doesn't work all the time but it's advised to go for a break when you noticed that you're in a long losing streak to avoid too many loses.

I don't mind having a losing streak while playing on a casino, because i already know that its more of losing than winning when gambling, secondly, i do set aside a particular amount of money i use for gambling within a particular time frame, once this is exhausted within the losing streak, then am done for the day, am not going to refill my bankroll and gamble more, so that it doesn't pain me the more if eventually i couldn't recover.

I rarely have very long streaks, winnings often alternate with losses. I think my longest streak was five or seven losses, but before that, I had a streak of several wins, and after that I had a good winning streak, so it all outweighed the losses. I didn't think about how to deal with it, I just kept playing and gradually my deposit recovered. For me betting is just a game without the goal of making money, my bets are small, so I don't worry too much when I lose.

I had the worse losing streak so far based on what other posters said above. I was on a straight two weeks losing streak. I don't know what happened that time. I had to go for a long break of three months because I had this belief that it will break the curse with that.

I had a parlay bet on 12 games, I lost 10 out of 12 games. Majority of the matches ended in a draw. I don't want to have such experience again that's why I don't bet on parlay.

As far as I remember, it was 6 losing streak , but it wasn't on a single bet, it was on a multibet, and it was also like testing my luck, and the amount used for each bet was no more than $5, so it was a small amount to lose, meaning there was nothing I had to deal with.
For single bets experiencing 4 losing streak, this is obviously very frustrating, usually I would stop or not bet on that league for a while.

Unfortunately it was not a wise move for me as after losing many single bets in a single weekend I got and tried to forget about it by starting playing slot machines. In the beginning I was lucky as I happen to win quite some consecutive sessions and I thought this must be it, soon to learn the hard way that over the long run you will keep losing and there is not a mentally wise thing to fix these kind of problems. There is nothing to be done except to calm down several hours after such heavy losing occurs that can help somewhat to rethink what you will do in the coming days. I decided to quit gambling, better the massive gambling as I still gamble somehow and for me it was the best decision.

Some runs are even so long we barely keep count because keeping count can mess you up more mentally than you expect. When you keep count sometimes, you may be triggered to start considering some options that some other gamblers have claimed to work for them.

Options like joining a paid group for betting signals or starting to take predictions from an AI.

If you are having fun gambling responsibly, you are not focused so much on how much you are losing because you are betting within limits.

Honestly I'm betting with a suitable amounts I can afford to lose bit sometimes it becomes more unpredictable so then in trying to handle it is simple via taking that break and analysing my next strike that would be profitable.
