I agree too, it was a safe bet for Ryan to fight a not so dangerous champion in Mario Barrios. Ryan still possesses the speed and power advantage here and hopefully he will win this fight and not take it lightly as what he did against Romero although against Rolly there could be ring rust for him.

So if he become the champion and defeated Barrios, he will stay relevant and maybe he can pursue a rematch with either Romero or Haney. Specially in Devin Haney, which everyone was looking to until Ryan was upset by Barrios.

Yes, but they forget that Ryan is coming from a long layoff, but they still think that he can beat Rolly Romero a obvious cherry pick by his team. But Ryan was not ready at all in that fight. No movement at all, timing is off, not playing defense and he thought that they can just swarm Romero with his left hook. Hopefully, him and his team left from that big blunder, otherwise another L in his resume means that he might stay out of the boxing for months and try to recover. Pacquiao will have his chance ONLY if he wins against Romero which is currently in negotiations still. Fighters really are targeting Barrios because of his last fight against Pacquiao. I mean many thinking that he will win on that one, but it ended up in a draw, and many analysts even believe that Paqcuiao should've won that fight thus, getting the title from him. For some, Barrios' performance on that fight is somewhat disappointing knowing that he's fighting a post-prime fighter in Pacquiao.

I agree that Ryan Garcia can be very difficult to work with, and it’s a good move that he chose his father as his trainer since his father understands what he needs. However, I don’t believe a trainer will significantly affect the outcome of this fight against Barrios—Garcia’s fighting style can’t be changed overnight. Based on what we saw in the Romero fight, I expect a similar performance in the Barrios fight. Right now, Garcia lacks confidence, and honestly, he’s fortunate to have landed this championship opportunity despite coming off a loss.

You hit the right point. I was supposed to say that too, because his past trainers were already solid, but he’s so full of himself that he can’t even see his own weaknesses anymore. When the news came out about him using ED meds and getting stripped of a belt because of it, that alone made me lose confidence in him. We all know Barrios is a really weak champion. He also does not have the power of somebody like Rolly Romero. If Ryan can’t beat Barrios, then he really has no business still being in boxing. Ryan didn’t deserve to fight for a world title because his only accomplishment at welterweight was the tainted win against Haney. He doesn’t have an official win since 2023. His marketability is what still allows him to get these opportunities. Ryan has already reached rock bottom, so he has no other choice but to win if he still wants to be a contender.
