So much talk about the weight, as Ryan was official at 146.5 lbs and Barrios at 147 lbs. So they both make the weight, but it's interesting on how much they are going to rehydrate after that. I'm seeing though that Ryan could be close to 155 lbs or even higher than that. If that is the case then, he will fully be on his prime weight and so he can still bring that power up to 147 lbs to 154 lbs. Same with Barrios, he could be in his comfort zone at this weight class although we haven't or he is not known to have a power punch that can knockout anyone and again, that's why he is called the weakest champion. But then again, we have seen Ryan lost to Romero. So there is also this chance that Barrios might pull a upset surprise win for his backers.

It is very much doubtful that Barrios will give King Ry much pressure, assuming that he has taken his training very serious for this fight.

The bold part is the key point here. Ryan is being trained by his father, who I don’t believe can give him the best preparation. Barrios on the other hand, went with Joe Goosen, who is a good trainer and knows Ryan well. Barrios might not be drastically improved after one training camp, but with his scrappy and relentless style, he is capable of pulling an upset if Ryan is mentally and physically unprepared.

The odds are about right to favor Garcia, but I give Barrios the benefit of the doubt because Ryan is an unpredictable wild card. He wasn’t in his best form against Haney, but he still gave him a thorough beating. Then against Rolly, where the odds favored Ryan more than they do against Barrios, it was one of the worst performances from a high level boxer we have seen in a long time.

Seen a lot with at least $300.00 on Ryan to win at 1.40 odds. So it's obvious that bettors are into Ryan here and sorry for Barrios fans, it's just a disrespect for a champion to be the underdog here and then calling him a weak champion.

So I think the pressure is on the shoulder of Barrios to show us that he deserved to be the champion and should be considered as a good boxer.

I bet against my cousin that Barrios will win, although it's very tempting to bet for Garcia because he is a heavy favorite. The bet is just too tempting to ignore, so I'm crossing my fingers that Barrios will be up to the challenge by beating Garcia. He has faced more veteran boxers than Garcia, which will be an advantage for him.

I’ve already pulled the trigger on this fight, and I’m leaning toward a win for Mario Barrios. My only concern is whether he can minimize the damage from Ryan Garcia’s lethal left hook. I believe that if Barrios can replicate the kind of performance he showed against Manny Pacquiao, it should be enough to secure a victory over Garcia.

Unfortunately, Barrios looks like a punching bag in this fight. No plans at all, got knockdown on the first round with a right hand from Ryan. And then moving forward, Ryan dominating the fight with his fast hands and either left or right hand it is connecting.

While Barrios is throwing less punch in every round, fight is not yet done but if everything works out for Ryan, he will be a champion once again. Good for those who throw a lot of money on Ryan here.

When Barrios got knocked down on the first seconds of the fight, that's already a sign that it's over. Barrios looked like a walking punching bag all throughout the fight. It's a dominating one for Garcia. It's the classic one that many are waiting to happen. It's like how he dominates his opponents back then before losing to Tank Davis. I really do hope that this momentum of him will be carried on his future fights. He called out Shakur on that interview, but TBH, I don't think that he can defeat him. He's one great of a defender, and a counter puncher as well. Kudos to Garcia, but he needs to fight other opponents at least.

Now that he got the title, it's time for him to defend it... or if he wants to then he can fight Romero again for a rematch and a title fight as well.

It will be interesting to see Ryan vs Shakur to happen. Even Shakur has already said he's gonna fight him without involving the belt, and it's pure for the bag. If it's gonna happen, i guess it's gonna be big and more appeal to the public.

The catchweight demand is coming from Shakur Stevenson. I don’t think that it is something that Ryan should accept. Ryan has already proven he could sell a million PPVs, so he is the clear A-side. If Shakur is really as good as he thinks he is, he should be able to beat Ryan at any weight. His mentor, Terence Crawford, didn’t become an all time great by asking that Canelo drain himself for him. He went up to Canelo’s weight class and dominated him.
