Yes, it does not mean at all. I play roulette but thinking of winning because you think after losses, that you will win, gambling does not work like that. One of the main reasons I feel people keep going back to gambling after losses is because of that powerful thing called "hope".

I agree with your logic, it's true that hope makes gamblers not to permanently stop because they are just believing that the winning is going to come one day. First of all, some gamblers are very greedy to the extent that it is very difficult for them to accept defeats which is why gamblers keep in gambling to try their luck if them will be able to win. However, sometimes gamblers win but because if greed, they continue to gamble and they think they can continuously winning. As humans, we may even want to give up because of the series of losses we’ve encountered during the process but sometimes we are being courageous once more to try again when we see other people’s big win in gambling.
