As soon as you successfully creates your wallet account, immediately then take orderly and secured control of your seed phrase.
I met an enthusiast who hadn't buy bitcoin for the first time and said he'll properly guide his wallet and seed phrase when he'll finally buy bitcoin.
A very huge misconception there that could get your funds risky of loose because, any loopholes of the wallets security keys in an onset could destroy your entire efforts because scammers getting reach of your security keys in an early time can always hold it and keep tracking your wallet address until they catch you up and steal your funds.
Sound warning to beginners.

One thing we should always be scared of is to be afraid of getting scammed, anyone who never get scammed should be careful and secure his wallet with his or her strength, we should do anything to make sure we did not make a mistake that will make us regret buying bitcoin because if someone get scammed, the first thing that will come the person mind is why he buy bitcoin for the first place, why his carelessness is the reason why he was scammed.

Securing our wallet is the first thing we should know before buying bitcoin because if we buy bitcoin and we can not secure our wallet it means we don’t understand anything about bitcoin before buying it, hiding our seed phrase is very important because ones it linked, they can have access to your wallet and we all know what it means at the end, we should always take our wallet something very important.

I'm afraid this is common among newbies. Many take certain information for granted until they badly need it. By that time, it's either hard or impossible to recover.

When I was a newbie myself and I started using 2FA, I didn't mind the backup. I thought it was good enough. I could uninstall it anytime, anyway. It was all smooth until my phone broke. It was only then when I started recalling whether I even saved a copy of my 2FA backup or not.

This might be the same with newbies as regards wallet backups. They might set it aside because they're not yet even buying or making a deposit, anyway. Why should I worry about wallet recovery when I've just downloaded it, right? And I've got zero funds in it. Such wrong mindset! You'll need it one day.

If they did not make any wallet backup, simply created a wallet, used it until it was broken or the device (either computer, laptop, phone, tablet) was broken, it's almost impossible to recover a wallet from a dead device or dead disk.

Wallet backups are vital for wallet recoveries, everyone must know it and must actually practice it.

It's troublesome but with centralized exchanges, even you lost your account 2FA, you can open a support ticket, do identity verifcation again to remove that 2FA and get a new 2FA activation code. It takes a quite some time for support and recovery of your account but it is possible.

With you Bitcoin wallets, if you did not back up, you will lose your bitcoins.

It's a common naive thinking but it is risky and newbies can not blame on anyone if they are educated for example with the following resource and still ignored doing wallet backups.

How to back up a seed phrase?

I don't think it's advisable to have the wallet being created over a long time before using it for your investment, who knows maybe before now, it has been compromised, while those that already have access to the wallet will always keep a watch on it till we eventually uses it, while some could have developed a poor storage for their wallet keys making it vulnerable in the post without knowing.
Not about the wallet being compromised. What about forgetting to write out the seed phrase after buying the Bitcoin? I have heard of a situation of one forgets to write out their seed phrase after they buy Bitcoin. A friend of mine made such a mistake long ago, and it caused her a lot after she had invested in Bitcoin; the excitement of investing in Bitcoin made her forget to store her seed phrase. It was when her phone was lost, that she remembered that she forgot to write down her seed phrase after she had invested in Bitcoin.

Both cases are just situations of carelessness or not valuing the importance of backing up their wallet. For me bitcoin isn’t an fancy commodity that you just go out and see and you buy and simply create a wallet for, I think before heading to buy bitcoin or deciding to do that one would have actually decided to do their own research and the first thing one will be told is the wallet creation and backing it up and before getting to buy bitcoin. Let’s say for ignorance sake one do not back it up at that time I think after buying bitcoin and sending it to that wallet the next thing anyone will do is to back it up not until the Phone gets damaged,

The cases I am familiar with is when someone forgets where they have backed up their seed phrases and not when they forget to actually back it up except the amount in that wallet is losable amount but both cases are carelessness

That is good message since you are correct that main rule of crypto is personal responsibility for safety, meaning you are your own bank and you have to take care of your money yourself. Biggest mistake that people make when tricked is blaming Bitcoin when real problem was security mistake, which shows why first lesson you should take is to lock up your wallet. Seed phrase is only master key to all your money and should never be kept online or given to anyone, but instead written down and placed in safe, physical place such as safe, since in crypto, security is only thing that can protect your wealth.

There is no much work to do when you have to create your wallet and safe guard them basically all you need is to, write em down manually and then splitting them to different locations where they can be safe and if you don't want much work you can definitely use stainless steel back up as a better way to secure the wallet. but it's as important as having a bitcoin to having a good safety or security towards your wallet or coin.

It's not everytime it's recommended to split seed phrase in different locations because locations itself has its own challenges. There are places where there is war and natural disasters, saving your seed phrase in two different locations with this kind of method can make you lose your coin completely. If you have 6 seed phrase in one place and the other one in another location flood came and washed it away, you will blame yourself for using two different places.

You can do back and keep the funds in one location but that location should never be the only option you depend, keep the one you wrote on a piece of paper. It's better to do back up like this. However, if you are living in a place where natural disaster and war doesn't affect, then you have every reason to use 2 different locations to save your seed phrase and it must be engrave on a metal steel that is corrosive resistant, that's the best way to back your seed phrase.
Yes it is very important to safeguard your seed phrases and ensure it’s stored properly. I don’t subscribe to splitting the phrases and storing in different locations, this is like a technique used to hide artifacts that you don’t want to be found.Seedphrase is something you might want to use or need even when you didn’t plan to. I think if you want to store in different locations store the phrase as a whole.
I think it’s even possible to cram and memorise the phrases while you apply whatever means you wish to store it.

For a newbie they might not really have the awareness of how to secure their seed phrase except they have someone who is guiding them because some of us were very careless when we were a newbie, we kept our seed phrases carelessly because we can gain access to our wallets by just a password and some persons even made a screenshot of their seed phrases but along the line we came to understand how important it is to secure our seed phrases since if it get lost we cannot not be able to access our wallets again. I think there is need to discard the first wallets we created during our newbie days because we ain't really sure if we protected it very well.

Splitting seed phrase into multiple part all in the sake of security backup hasn't been a good advice as it could be critical that when some part is misplaced that you can't get the 12 or 24 words of your wallet completely in time of recovering your Wallet, you're definitely going to be locked out from having access to the wallet.
Your suggestion of cramming these phrases off hand could also be dangerous because it's not an easy task to memorize all those words. It you may feel fluent with it in the very short time but on the long run might become something you'll begin to crack your brain trying to remember it which could be unfortunate when you can't recall it all accordingly. Having it written down will always serve the best.

Well that's your opinion there are scenarios where it's very important to split or splitting can be the best options because basically things happen and unforeseen circumstances like robbery where they are aware of your crypto involvement but because it's splited there is no amount of pressure that can get them there at the point of robbery they can have 6 and 6 will be left so it's not possible to access, in such case it's very advisable. but remember what I consider wise could be foolish in your opinion so everyone has personal opinions.

There are exchange accounts but there is no wallet account.
You create your non custodial wallets, that's it. They are your non-custodial wallets, not accounts. Don't confuse between wallets and accounts.
It is kinda the same since some wallet provider let you buy Bitcoin by paying fiat that's what I think the reason why OP said wallet account. If you think about it, it's not really confusing when you say about wallet account since both needs to be created like the seed phrase is the username and the passphrase should be the password although it would be different to other people like yourself which you believe that people shouldn't be confused about wallets and accounts.

I have written down a few key phrases from my first investment in cryptocurrency and forgot in which book I wrote it. It has happened more than once until I learnt how to save them my own way.
It takes wit and wisdom to be able to know which way to store your keys work best, because while some would etch them on steel or titanium plates, others may prefer bank deposit box, different key locations in the region or outside the region, and even using customized passphrase with the 25th word being a special word only them know.

That’s a good point, and it shows why splitting the seed could be a good strategy in some cases.
However, if someone steals one of the pieces of paper (or whatever storage medium you used) on which you stored part of your seed, you also won’t be able to access your wallet if you didn’t make multiple backups and store them in different places. So, this is something you need to consider.
Personally, I believe using a passphrase is more convenient and more secure than seed splitting.

Personally, I believe using a passphrase is more convenient and more secure than seed splitting.

When you split a seed with something like Shamir's Secret Sharing, you need a certain number of pieces to put it back together - say, 3 out of 5.  So, one stolen piece wont do anything.

A passphrase is a great way to add security.  But SSS gives you a method for spreading the risk, which might be even better than trusting just one phrase you have to remember or write down separately.

As soon as you successfully creates your wallet account, immediately then take orderly and secured control of your seed phrase.
I met an enthusiast who hadn't buy bitcoin for the first time and said he'll properly guide his wallet and seed phrase when he'll finally buy bitcoin.

I think there is some comfort in that idea on not having to be all safety wise on a seed phrase that has got any Bitcoin hodlings in it. Besides, what’s the point? One can always create another self custody wallet in minutes, start buying and hodling. Here is where your security is most paramount as, you finally have values that needs to be protected.

I wouldn’t bother much about this individual, it’s always up to you on how you would like to go and how well always depends on your execution.

Remember, your seed phrase is your hodlings but, without any hodlings, that seed phrase is as good as nothing at the time.

It's just like, I built a house and have a key to the house. Due to I don't have any properties in the house, I kept the house key carelessly and believing that when I buy properties, I will now keep the keys well.

Then a criminal already had the keys to the house and kept monitoring when properties will be brought to the house. Just don't expose your keys at all. But if it's old enough without funds, just create a new one when you have funds

there are scenarios where it's very important to split or splitting can be the best options because basically things happen and unforeseen circumstances like robbery where they are aware of your crypto involvement but because it's splited there is no amount of pressure that can get them there at the point of robbery they can have 6 and 6 will be left so it's not possible to access
Of course stolen piece won't work if the two parts are not united however for the owner there must be a complete backup which is very much recommended using those plates or boards to store them and if you miss one you can actually put it back with some help, at the end of the day I am very much convinced that splitting would help alot on scenarios like I mentioned yet personally preferences should be made unlike mine.

I believe you didn’t get Stalker’s point here. He was talking about Shamir Secret Sharing, which is one of the safest cryptographic methods to split a secret (the wallet seed n this case).
I know this is not the best example, but you can think of it as a multisig wallet, where you only need a few cosigners to sign a transaction, even though there are many signers in total. For example, in a 2-of-3 multisig wallet, you only need two cosigners to sign a transaction although there are three signers in total.

Well that's not for everyone because I believe most newbies that do that sometimes do it out of ignorance or maybe the  lack of research before even creating a wallet. If you really want to survive and be grounded in the crypto space then making research is something that you ought to do and when you get the information don't stay ignorant of it, seed phrase lecture is one of the most common warnings and knowledge being taught in the crypto community so everyone should know the importance of this even the basic newbies that want to get into the space and there are two people learn either you learn the hard way or you learn from other people mistakes and it's best to always go for the second option.

I know cramming can be a little stressful but when you’ve memorised something like your pledge or song surely Cramming 12/24 words wouldn’t be that difficult and I’m not suggesting you do only that. Writing it down and hiding or storing some place safe can be done alongside memorising. I get that memorising in the long run can be difficult because of not using the seedphrase often, you can make it a habit to be reciting it to yourself once in a while(every 2 weeks or as you want).
