I have heard of a situation of one forgets to write out their seed phrase after they buy Bitcoin. There is no much work to do when you have to create your wallet and safe guard them basically all you need is to, write em down manually and then splitting them to different locations where they can be safe and if you don't want much work you can definitely use stainless steel back up as a better way to secure the wallet. but it's as important as having a bitcoin to having a good safety or security towards your wallet or coin.

It's not everytime it's recommended to split seed phrase in different locations because locations itself has its own challenges. There are places where there is war and natural disasters, saving your seed phrase in two different locations with this kind of method can make you lose your coin completely. If you have 6 seed phrase in one place and the other one in another location flood came and washed it away, you will blame yourself for using two different places.

You can do back and keep the funds in one location but that location should never be the only option you depend, keep the one you wrote on a piece of paper. It's better to do back up like this. However, if you are living in a place where natural disaster and war doesn't affect, then you have every reason to use 2 different locations to save your seed phrase and it must be engrave on a metal steel that is corrosive resistant, that's the best way to back your seed phrase.

I don’t subscribe to splitting the phrases and storing in different locations, this is like a technique used to hide artifacts that you don’t want to be found.Seedphrase is something you might want to use or need even when you didn’t plan to. I think if you want to store in different locations store the phrase as a whole.
I think it’s even possible to cram and memorise the phrases while you apply whatever means you wish to store it.

Accidents can appear anytime, at any place so having multiple wallet backups which are stored at difference places is a good wallet backup approach. It minimizes the risk of losing all your wallet backups and can not recover your wallet.

Seed splitting is very bad idea because you will not be able to recover your wallet if you lose one of splitted backups. It's hard to brute force a Bitcoin private key and if you lose many wallet seed words, it's impossible for brute force attempt.

At the first place it is the right thing to do but for sure there are people who would like to invest in the Bitcoin in just a small amount and few of them does not know where do they store and because of the wallet feature of the exchange some of them store to those exchange which is most of us not recommend because its not their money not until they have the key. For me its a basic security and nessicity to have hardware wallet or at least hot wallet which has a secured device with a good AV so thats the time I make sure that my funds are safe. Also having a backup into different places ive known to secure my seed, if we are talking about a large amount right here for sure most of us dont let others want to steal it.

A very huge misconception there that could get your funds risky of loose because, any loopholes of the wallets security keys in an onset could destroy your entire efforts because scammers getting reach of your security keys in an early time can always hold it and keep tracking your wallet address until they catch you up and steal your funds.

If you don’t properly secure your seed phrase immediately you create your wallet, if you think since you not having anything in the wallet yet, and you were careless with your seed phrase, someone might already have access to your seed phrase, and whenever you decide to start investing and storing bitcoin in the wallet, that’s when they going to move everything you have in the wallet.

And this is one things people that have lost an asset know how it feels, they do everything possible that they don't  get compromised, because imagine after buying or investing your money and it gets stolen away how do you feel because is just as if they are something valuable away from you but the truth of it is that, a lot of people are responsible for what ever is happened to them because they don't give value to a lot of things and that is why they are losing there money.

And after buying bitcoin, you can go further to use more secure way which might be hardware wallet or printing of the seed phrase either on steel or on aluminum. One thing we have to know that is it not writing down or printing the seed phrase but we have to visit the seed phrase always to see if everything is alright. And don't abandoned the seed phrase and thinking that everything is alright.
