Currently, the total deficit for all German cities in 2025 is €30 billion, which jumped from last year's deficit of €24 billion.

Essen's Mayor Thomas Kufen (CDU), who is also a member of the CDU federal executive board, is sounding the alarm: "Almost every German city is now on the verge of bankruptcy."

In North Rhine-Westphalia alone, only 10 out of 396 cities and municipalities can present a balanced budget, and these alarming figures from Germany's largest federal state can be applied to the "entire country," he said.

Mayor Kufen stressed that the crisis is universal, affecting municipalities regardless of their location: "What's new is that all cities have their backs against the wall," he told Bild newspaper.

He warned that "budget freezes would now have to be imposed everywhere," including in many cities previously considered wealthy.

Kufen emphasized the need for a national discussion on affordability: "We have to talk about what we can do so that our welfare state itself does not become a social case. This means: What do we want to afford and what else can we afford?"

Kufen illustrated the crisis with figures from his own city, Essen, which has a population of nearly 600,000. The city had planned a balanced budget for 2025. "But instead of a slight increase of €1.7 million, we currently have a deficit of €123 million," he calculated.

Once again, refugee accommodation and integration are near the top of the list for reasons why the city is seeing a budget shortfall. Far from being a solution to Germany's budget and pension crisis, they have become a massive financial burden for the country, costing at least €50 billion a year in social integration, housing, and benefits.

However, there are also many more hidden costs to mass immigration, including rising housing prices, healthcare costs, education costs for an increasingly foreign student population, and housing a huge number of foreigners in German prisons and psychiatric institutions. Just like Essen, even major cities like Berlin are seeing "spiraling costs" due to mass immigration, leading to large-scale debt required to keep the cities running.

Something tells me they aren't getting flooded with the hard working and law abiding immigrants...  What do I know though?  Very little...

It remains to be seen how Germany selling off their BTC, shutting down their nuclear plants, and opening their borders will play out.  I know how I think it will play out and what I'm seeing, but again...  What do I know?  Very little.

My advice for those in Germany would be the same as my advice for those in Canada.  Get the hell out as soon as you can.  Your society has been broken beyond repair and it will get worse from here.

It's not just Germany, it's the same across Europe. And although I'm not going to click on the OP's link because I don't trust anything he shares, here is a study that has been carried out in Europe on the burden of immigration, especially from African countries, which is a cost to the country, not a benefit.

The fact that there are many immigrants, especially in Europe, who do nothing and live off benefits is not so much their fault as that of left-wing politicians who import them to secure future voters. This is the same path that Biden was following in the US and that Kamala was going to follow. It is the path that Starmer is following in the UK, which consists of destroying the country in order to try to secure power forever.

The aim is to fill the country with immigrants who come from countries with autocracies or dictatorships and who, by default, will accept a political system with fewer rights than we Westerners are accustomed to, while at the same time pay then for doing nothing, following a Peronist strategy of creating a population dependent on the state.

Responsible debt means an investment that has a specific predictable return on investment by a specific date. Any other method of government debt is ~100% irresponsible and should result all officials being removed from office whether by vote or otherwise. These officials and any other organization members who helped their effort should also be removed and not eligible to participate in the organization for six years so they have an opportunity for education of financial responsibility.

Furthermore, a voter should be required to be able to articulate that society considers that irresponsible before being enabled to vote for any purpose in a written or oral test. Of course there are even more important things that should be required to be able to vote, like understanding human rights and how they are delegated 0% by government and 100% by inherent nature, the divine realm, and human dignity. What people sometimes claim to be rights as government spending is entitlements of social contract. Thinking of violent solutions first rather than last is another thing a lot of people get wrong. For example, a pandemic starts, so a lot of people think about roadblock checkpoints and force-medicating their neighbors right away.

Participation in governance is essential, especially now with AI alignment being an existential threat to humanity. But voting is not essential. See a problem fix a problem, don't expect someone else to do it for you.

A military draft is something that borders on Dictatorship. If this happens, will the EU start to become a Dictatorship like Russia? If it does, why in the world would they want to fight Russia?
