Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Americans, and people around the world who choose to celebrate.

Thanksgiving, or Family and Feast Day as I like to call it, is one of my favorite holidays.  It's purely about celebrating three of my favorite things; family, friends, and food.

However, within the name of this holiday is a little affirmation; something we should all be doing every single day, all year 'round, but we often forget.  This world makes it easy for us to forget how blessed we are.  We're constantly being bombarded with advertisements for things we can't afford and don't really need in the first place.  We're hypnotized by influencers with extravagant lifestyles.  We're constantly made to feel less-than if we're not living in a large house with fancy cars in the driveway.  We've normalized giving-in to extreme materialism the very day after we're supposed to be giving thanks for the most important things in life.

I'm not suggestion you don't take advantage of the sales, but keep in mind that these sales are often nothing more than well calculated and highly targeted marketing tricks.  If you didn't need this item yesterday, you're not going to miss not having it tomorrow, no matter how cheap it is today.

I also would like to encourage all of you, and as a reminder to myself; think of those less fortunate.  Instead of buying the latest and greatest new ear buds, make do with your old ones for another year and instead, donate that money to charity.  If you're blessed with an abundance of time, volunteer to help the local charity who's feeding the poor.  If you're blessed with cooking skills, make a dish to share with the community at your local house of worship.

Little things like that help unify a community.  This year let's focus a little effort on building and unifying our communities, and a little less on building the coffers of Mega Corp.

My Doctrine made me believe that "it is  a good thing to always give thanks to God."  No matter whatever happens and whatever it takes, we must be grateful and thankful for the little we've got.

Many people occupy themselves with worries and forget to say thank you for the little they got while in the struggle. One thing I have come to realise is that the molre thankful and grateful you are the more doors open for you because when you show appreciation to God and also to the efforts of people in your life, they would be moved to do more because they have that satisfaction in them that you recognise their efforts in their life and by showing a grateful herath towards them neans you acknowledge them for their works.

Therefore, Thanksgiving is an important aspect of appreciation which needs to be practised in acknowledging the good works of God in our lives and nations as well.  We should also show appreciation to those who have, in one way or another, shown us kindness and love in achieving our goals and dreams.

I will actually be celebrating to some degree tonight with some friends.

It is important to keep things simple and not let big corporations bombard us with stuff we
dont need/want especially when they hijack important and celebratory events.

Keep life as simple as possible, its easier on your pocket and will most likely extend your life too.

Life, food, friendship, prosperity and health are just some things celebrated at thanksgiving.

There is a popular rule before buying anything, it is the 30-day rule that people have to follow. But the sad thing is that most people never follow it. Before buying anything, don't buy it right away; wait a little and ask yourself some questions. Wait for 30 days or even 7 days. Before buying, think: Do I really need this product? Is it worth the money? After waiting, if you feel that you really need the product, then buy it. Nowadays, if people see an offer, they just jump to buy it without thinking. At the end of the day, they just store junk at home. People are not grateful for what they have. We should first think about helping the poor people in society who are financially weak.

Hello Americans, happy thanksgiving day. This is the first time I have ever heard about the US thanks giving day so I had to do a little search across the Web to learn more about the history and existence of this special day, how it originated from the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag people in Plymouth to its role in promoting peace and unity since the American Civil War, today, it symbolises gratidute, Harvest, family gathering and reflection. Also, you all should help pray for my country Nigeria, currently going through the highest level of insecurity and our government seems to have failed us once again. Terrorist have successfully surrounded the whole country taking life like they own it and our government is just sitting down with no plans on stopping it.

What a year it has been.  The price may have round tripped since last Thanksgiving, but what a ride that was to over $125,000! 

I hope everyone's 2026 is just as great and filled with an abundance of joy.

There are many on this forum who choose to try and divide us or cast negativity at those of us who make an effort to provide value to this community, but they can't stop us from being a part of this shared hobby that has brought so much positivity into so many of our lives.  It has been great being on this journey with you.

Happy Thanksgiving Day. It is coming late, but I am sure we won't miss it on this side of the world. I recently watched a movie on Netflix this night that was how I knew it was Thanksgiving day. Although it was a horror movie for horror movie lovers, the name of the movie is "Thanksgiving"

What a year it has been, ups and downs Bitcoin panics and more, but at the end of the day we can only be greatful for life and keep on going, many are not opportuned to get to see a day like this, so we definitely have something to be greatful for.

In Nigeria where I based we truly find value in the opportunity to see another day, because of the insecurity issues we have over here, so once again we are grateful for this year, and also greatful that we shall see next year as well.

I don't agree with you actually. We do celebrate thanksgivings and it's no different from what they do there. The only difference is they prefer to spend more time with families and celebrate it at whereas we do that with both families and religious brothers. Regardless, the point is the reason for the celebration is the same even if we don't have a fixed date.
Thanksgiving is not tied to any religion or race it's just a general celebration of thanks.

We don't celebrate thanksgiving day in Nigeria according to this date.

In Canada, we also celebrate Thanksgiving at the end of harvest.   Tradition says we go around the table saying what we are thankful for.   It hasn't become commercial like the US yet.   Why do you guys want to lump two major holidays together anyway - use them to break up the monotony of dark winter days!
