You're right, Bitcoin has a lot of use cases but it is not compatible enough when it comes to becoming an efficient payment method for the masses, because despite the fact that the transactions are irreversible, you still can't expect a large number of people paying for something and leaving without waiting for the confirmation because things can't work like that everywhere, there could also be double-spending happening on a large scale by scammers and those who know how these things work.

Besides, we can't know if something better than Bitcoin will be created in the future or not, because if someone could think of creating Bitcoin, someone else could come up with another, much better and more efficient idea and create another innovative system that will have more features and allow much faster and cost-efficient transactions with the ability to carry more transactions within each block or allow more transactions within a second like Visa and other payment systems.
