Finally decided on my captain, but also on my 3rd striker. News flash, it's Joao Pedro. He played really well yesterday.

I don't trust Joao Pedro one bit. Had him in my main fantasy team for way too long 


Seems like this season we have something called events in FPL challenge. Fancy name to say that they are grouping challenges into groups of 3. This week challenge is the last week of cut price event and then a new one should start in GW17. If it does, do you want me to make a change to prize structure?

We have a budget of 300$ per week so I could take 100$ from each week and throw it towards event winners. That would give us 200$ per GW and then another 300$ fore event winner. Let me know do you prefer that or current structure where we are simply all money towards GW. Same money just spread a bit differently

For me it makes sense, would give more incentive to try and chain good results together. Weekly rewards are great, so taking a bit of money out of them for events sounds like a good idea.

I don't trust Joao Pedro one bit. Had him in my main fantasy team for way too long 

Neither do I, but for this game it makes sense.
My main problem is now Martinez, he's flagged as doubtful and I won't be risking it here although I'm sure he'll eventually play.

I think that's good , it also spread out rewards to more people which i guess no one will mind , maybe GW winner sometimes as he the one getting cut but he could still win Event

No this is last challenge in "Cut price gems" event. At this point we don't know what will next event be.

No this is last challenge in "Cut price gems" event. At this point we don't know what will next event be.

Looking forward to see how this GW plays out, it looks like it'll be a but more fun than the regular FPL.

The OP says every gameweek teams reset, does this mean we just have to take hits for the week to make this possible to have a new team for the new week,  or maybe pool has been setup to allow these unlimited transfers.. sorry if this has been asked before will be going through the thread to catch on..

So did you mean we have 3 competition if i'm not wrong. The fantasy league, the challenge, and event challenge (group of 3 game week)?

Nope, it is the same competition. You can consider it as monthly rewards in classic league. So you are still in the same league, competing with the same team. Just instead of getting 300$ every GW, I will take 100$ away. Which will give us 200$ every GW and the remaining 300$ for those that are best during whole event (3GW in a row).

There aren't transfers here, every GW is separate, you start from scratch and pick 6 players you fancy for that challenge.

I just picked my team for this round and I made a mistake at first and took players that cost over 7.5m so it was good I saw that because I want to get double points on my forwards😁 And of course i go for 1-1-3 

Here is the new update challenge from gw 17-20:

Game week 17: Double Points for players with home fixtures.

Game week 18: +6 points for every Big Chance Created.

Game week 19: All goals and assists score double points.

Game week 20: Clean Sheets score double points.

Does this means we have an event comprising of four challenges? They have the same theme so I guess. It should be much clearer after the deadline. That is when i will make final decision but is it is like that. We will have 4xGW with 200$ rewards and then 400$ for event winners.

Arsenal was cruising to a clean sheet that got ruined by the damn Wolves
Wasn't counting on it per se but I had Raya as my GK so it would've been nice then again my 1 defender was bad anyway, but ah well first week jitters I guess.
Gotta get the hang of this again I do like the different format for sure though way easier and straight to the point.

If any of you guys maybe wondered if you can pick the team after the first match played in the round the answer is yes  . I forgot to pick my team on Saturday and ended up picking in today in the morning and it was quite successful.

Terrible week for me so far, don't think I have any chance of getting even close to the top. But as you said, good thing we start with clean slate every week. Must admit I like this challenge mode more and more.

We discussed it it indirectly. There is deadline and then there is latest deadline. We speculated it could be possible to select the team until then.


Still don't see new event announced. Maybe it happens only after this one ends. Doesn't matter, we will just wait until then to make final decision on rewards.

I tried to get some of those double points from my forwards, and Woltemade had an OG  what a way to kill that idea.
But this format is super cool though plus the weekly resets and the unlimited budget is good too.
