You are a gambler the moment you start placing bet and take risk no matter what is the frequency of your game.

This title was given to players not on the dedication you are putting on gambling. You can be casual, regular, pro and other classifications but all of them is considered as gambler unless you totally quit.

Gambler is someone who gamble and they don't choose to quit forever.

That's my definition of a gambler, so if a person gamble for everyday, other person gamble every week, and other one gamble without any certain period of time (he do whenever he wants), all of them are gamblers.

From my point of view, a gambler is someone who make a prediction in any event and stake money or asset with it to win a reward if the predictions goes right and loss if it goes wrong. I think it is very simple to answer you in this way, once you have started placing bet when you know quite well that, the system does not favor more on winning, but still your intention is to try luck, with risk, and all this things you are not doing it for free, you are basically doing it for the exchange of your money, to get a lose or a win. Basically, a gambler is someone who risks some of a value (money) at an uncertain outcome, with the goal of winning more than what they bet. The difference is how much this influences their life: is it occasional, a regular habit or a compulsive behavior? Do you understand that there are three levels?

The problem is not being a gambler, just as there is no problem with someone who drinks alcohol sporadically or in a controlled manner. The problem is when you let it become an addiction, when these things dominate your life and you find yourself totally dependent on it.

Regarding how much is needed to be considered "a problem", I do npt think there is one... a person can play once a week and it be a problem if they neglect other things just to play during that time, just as they can play every day and still do so in a controlled way, spending only what they can afford and not neglecting other things like dedicating time to family, friends, their own physical and mental health, and work.

So, I doubt there is an "ideal limit", I think it varies greatly from person to person.

Of course that person is a gambler despite the space distancing of his betting habit, what you should know is that we have different categories or types of gamblers, and this includes the regular Gambler, the irregular gambler, addicted and unadicted Gambler. So all are Gamblers but falls into different betting category.

A gambler is someone who gambles and it doesn't matter how frequently he or she engages in gambling, this is why we have different types of gamblers like the recreational gamblers and the professional gamblers..

Recreation gambler being those who gamble for fun and entertainment, and for this reason, they may not be as frequent as the those who tend to treat gambling as a profession.
A recreational gambler may gamble ones in a week, ones in a month, ones in a year and so on, it all depends on their gambling appetite level or how frequently they get the urge to gamble, they are still gamblers regardless of fact that they don't gamble frequently.

It's just like trading for example, any one who trades is a trader, regardless of how frequently the person trade, the person may have other things doing which does not permit them the time to trade frequently and so it is with some gamblers as well..
