Could this be a bug or something?

I was going through our local board today, and I had to check the off-topic session, and I noticed a topic in the Pilipinas started by a reputable member here not from our local board and this raised my curiosity as to what really happened and how the thread founds its way to my local board because the replies and comments were all in the pilipinas which we do not understand except when using google translate to read for a better understanding.

Here is the link to the thread  Pilipinas Alt Account Farm. Would it be possible to send it to the appropriate quarters for visibility?

I think it's a bug because on clicking the link, it showed me the same post but not on your local board, it was on my Naija local board.

I checked too. This post is showing on the Nigerian local board. I think the post creator julerz12 can describe it.

Just a heads up, OP is from the same local board with you, the Naija board, so he is also referring to the Naija board off topic sub board where he saw the post.

I suspect that the thread must have been reported to be moved to a sub board of the Pilipinas but the moderator wrongly moved the topic to the Naija board instead of a different sub board of the Pilipinas LB. I could be wrong but that's just my suspicion.

It is a mistake when moving that topic, not a forum bug.

These board ids are 219 and 275, not too near with each other, but if you use your profile for Ignore Boards Preferences, you will see two boards are very near with each other in the list.

 Politics and society (Naija)
 Off-topic (Naija)
한국어 (Korean)
 대체코인 Alt Coins (한국어)
Pilipinas
 Altcoins (Pilipinas)
  Altcoin Announcements (Pilipinas)
 Pamilihan

The list is the same if you click on Move topic and get the board list. Maybe the person who moved that topic made a mistake.

Fairly easy mistake to make. Especially when boards are named very similarly. For example Portuguese boards and Spanish boards. Probably not what happened here, but even without that fairly easy mistake to make nonetheless.

For future references, should be able to just report the topic though and it'll get moved to the correct place.

Since every reply in the thread is in Pilipinas, it definitely looks like it originated from the philipinas local board and somehow ended up in Off-Topic of the Nigeria local board. Could be a simple misclick or maybe a glitch. Either way, you did we by pointing it out so it can be checked and corrected.

Glad it’s been sorted out now. Things like this can easily slip through without anyone noticing. The Op did well in publicizing his observation, I also commend the quick fix from you and the clarification.

I don't know if we would call it a bug or a mistake from the moderator by wrongly moving a topic to another local board but if you see such thing in the future you can report to your local board moderator and he will move it back to the right local board. I have seen such in the past but what i did was to report it and it was moved almost immediately. Even in the other boards, if you come across a thread that doesn't suit the board it was created, you can report to moderator so that it can be moved to a suitable board.

The topic was created by you so it is only you and the forum moderators that can move it. If the post was not moved by you, then it is possible the moderator might make a mistake moving it to the Naija board instead of the reputation board since such post is suited perfectly in the reputation board. This is my thinking and if I'm wrong, then it could be a burg which I have not noticed in this forum before.

It is obvious that it likely might be a bug, but my curiosity is this: if it were a mistake, at least the OP of the thread could have noticed which visiting his posts to see for himself just like every other regular members does once in a while I believe he would have noticed it so move it back to the appropriate quarters were it belongs. However, since the needful has been done, it means this notification has been attended to, so in that case, I will be locking the thread to avoid spamming.
