However it is not about getting a helping hand, it is about feeling as if you are not living the life of someone works this hard. I work 10 to 12 hours a day, for six days a week, and I am not living some great expensive life, I am not living in some home, it is a small normal apartment, and I am not driving some Mercedes, it is some old second hand car, and you know what's even worse? That's actually better than most people I know.

That is true, while you hustle very hard and you're working most of your time everyday, you're still in a better situation than the others who are homeless, car less and jobless.

And that's the appreciation that we also need to apply to ourselves. People are forgetting of what they have and what they should be grateful for.

But I think that you'll have better days someday in the near future with how you're working with. Because good things comes to those who are hardworking people.

This is the reality of most of the people that we work so hard day after day but the quality of life does not match the hard work. Most of us are self-sufficient, we do not need anyone's help and it is a matter of pride but still it seems that in return for this hard work we should have got a better life. There is no problem with living in a small flat, driving an old car, our problem is that we feel that "I deserved more." But the thing is what we think is less many people can't even get this. But in the end, our own efforts are the real reason because time may change, circumstances may change but our own efforts never go in vain and our struggle may be slowly paving the way for a better day.

I think only a few wealthy individuals may be able to help us, but the majority won’t because the expected support from them is likely to decline.

Yes, this is the reality where you will wait for help but you will not get help. If you lend money to someone, you will not get that money back on time, but there is a high chance that they will not give you back the money. You will not get any benefit from your colleagues in the job field. You will be constantly under pressure from your boss. You are alone at every moment of your life, meaning you will not get any help from anyone. That means whatever you achieve in life, you have to achieve it completely alone. After a long time, you will see that there is no one with you, but you have to form a habit of walking without the help of others. You have to remember that you are born alone in life and you will die alone.

We shouldn't rely that much with other people and even with the government. As for the latter, they're there to provide the facilities and other services that shall make our lives better. But if it's about saving our lives through from the bottom to raising it, it's all on us. We have to do all the work for us to get out of our current situation and that's the reason why we need to make sure that we're doing things to make our lives better. If you have been struggling to make your life better and you're doing your best to make it, you should be proud of yourself for doing that.

Well, we cannot rely on anyone else in this matter. Because our lives will be experienced and determined by ourselves. So, stopping expecting help from others is one of the things that will make us more free and calm. And we will even avoid feeling disappointed in others. And we know that feeling disappointed is something very painful in life. And to avoid that disappointment, there is no other way than to stop expecting help from others. And it will indeed be very rewarding if we achieve success without depending on others. Even though we will always have interactions with many people, the point is that we no longer expect much from others. And we also don't need to be too ambitious about other people's assessments of our lives.

I have always been fan of self-reliance and independence, IMO these two are the pre-requisite for the one's happiness; If you depend only on yourself, there will be no disappointment either. 

Yes, and the sooner you realize this in life, the better you will be because then you won't have very high expectations from people around you, because if those expectations break, you will get hurt badly, and they do break at some point, which is why it's better that you make yourself mentally prepared for that shock as then it won't affect you as much as it would if you were in the delusion that you can totally rely on others but you actually can't rely on anyone other than your parents, because parents are the only people in the world who love you unconditionally, other than that, none do.

So, as we get matured, we should start understanding things such as we are alone in this world, and we have to make sure that we are capable enough of doing everything on our own instead of being reliant on others even for the smallest things, and to become like this, one has to start doing their stuff themselves from an early age so that when they grow up, they should have a strong mental ability of being independent.

I am not sure if I am taking statement literally than intended. But, you don't have to learn to do everything by yourself, just be financially capable and delegate tasks to professionals.

The political situation in my country is so bad that people here only take power to commit corruption. Especially when analyzing the history of money laundering by political leaders in our country, it can be seen that the entire government system in our country is based on corruption.
In other words, if the political parties in a country are corrupt, then the people of that country will never be liberated. Illiteracy, poverty, corruption, and food shortage will become common occurrences in that country. If the political parties in a country do not work for the people, then the liberation of the people will never be possible.

Let's not normalize thinking that we live for others and that its okay to rely on them. No, that is a very wrong life's perspective. We are solely responsible of our own selves, and no one else.

If you want to live a good and comfortable life, then you should work for it. Other people are just here to guide us, but the major things are to be done by us. If you are lazy and overdependent, you will continue to suffer from hardships in life, but if you make things possible all for your life's comfort and luxury, not only you will save yourself, but you will also save the people you love and care.

I witnessed how more often than not, training programs are cut first when money is tight. I saw that the companies want "ready-made" workers but don't like to create them.

I fully understood this after uni, and I was looking for a job. I saw that most companies, especially big companies wanted fresh graduates with years of experience. This usually confused me back then because where is a fresh graduate going to get experience from if they're not giving an opportunity.

I have always known I'm on my own. When I saw how the jo sector was for new graduates, I knew I had to learn a skill to upgrade myself, because unless you are extremely lucky to get a good job as a fresh graduate and depending on your field.
The government doesn't really care, especially in countries like mine. We are all on our own.

We should work hard to achieve our own desires, whether it's a vacation, owning property, or anything else. Expecting help from others is not recommended, we should stand on our own two feet as much as possible.
A simple life with everything being provided for and a happy family is better. I don't think that means you don't want to improve. Perhaps you could improve by improving your family's circumstances, but because you choose simplicity, you're comfortable with it, and that's not a wrong choice.

Furthermore a leader is needed with a clear vision and mission so they can develop all aspects to escape the economic pressures of dependence on other countries. A leader must be able to create jobs equitably for all members of society, so that the country's economy can be much stronger due to a reliable population and quality human resources. All of this can be achieved if the leader has the ability to manage the country well, regardless of the absence of corruption, and the country as a whole runs under his own influence.

The people are a reflection of a leader, and if during elections the people accept bribes and leaders rely on money to gain power, then there's no hope of a clean and corrupt leader. Political parties aren't evil, but rather the actors within them who possess corrupt morals, and vice versa for leaders, who are usually the ones who destroy the order of life for their failure to lead well and not achieving the welfare of the people as a whole.

I have heard stories that in the 60s and 70s life was good, corruption was very minimal compared to now, government actually used the revenues that they generate for social development. I heard that companies train their staff, they even sponsor them abroad if that is where they will get the best experience. Things were very affordable and people where very happy, there were parties everywhere during weekends. Today we are experiencing the opposite of everything that I have mentioned because the corruption in government is overwhelming. I don't think it is as bad as it is in Africa, as Europe and America, Africa, is very backwards and that is why almost everybody wants to escape to Europe and America, to have a better life. You are on your own if you are waiting for government to provide the best life for you.

It's quite unfortunate that those we voted to represent our interest are the ones oppressing us, before now we thought after graduation from school, job will be waiting for your immediate attention but the reverse is the case.The government policies currently are all geared towards favourite of the elites and those in the authority instead of creating policies that will better the lots of the poor majorities.we are left to work for our survival with enoumus responsibility tie around our neck. I used to think that someone would help. Government would provide jobs. Schools would teach things that are useful. Companies would have to train workers. Society would take care of hard working people. This was how I thought for a very long time. Maybe you did too.

Honestly, it felt like a slap in the face. I was reflecting while reading this thread; it was very emotional for me.
It felt like I was reflecting on myself, disappointed with the situation, as if I'd been left alone.
That's why I stopped hoping. Ultimately, I had to believe in my own abilities, keep learning, and honing what I had.
I even created my own job opportunities because it wasn't that I wasn't ready, I just hadn't been given the chance.

We're here not because we gave up, but because we took a different path.

At a very young age I have learnt that no one is coming to safe me, not the government or anyone, even those who have the capacity still went ahead and took advantage of me working my ass off with the hope that I am working for those who promised to help and when the time was up they ignored me.

I stopped hoping for help to come, I stood my ground and got stronger but it changed me, not for the bad but in the face of many I have changed they kept saying, and so I started noticing some distancing between me and people I would once called my own people, it felt like I can see through everybody.

No one dares lie to my face and expected me to blindly follow, people are scared of men who stand on their own and make name for themselves without the help from others, you become an indestructible person. I understand what you are saying, there is nothing wrong with asking for help but an open door is not for everyone.

And I realized something that changed the way I thought about everything. The system is not broken. It is operating just as designed. But it just was never made for people like us.

Expecting the government to help you(or save you) is total nonsense, if you ask me. Bureaucratic systems(the government is the most well-known bureaucratic system) care only about self-preservation. This is their true nature. The rest is just propaganda.
You are not alone in this world. You have a social circle(family and friends). They can help you, when times are difficult. That doesn't mean that you depend on them. You just have the mutual benefit of helping each other. Relying on someone else for your life seems like the worst thing ever, but we live in a society, where everyone is codependent on other people.
