I just want to share one experienced I had with our local casinos here, it's a legit site and operated under license by our gaming commission.

So I already passed KYC here years ago and with no problem, so everything went smooth with my deposits as it's frictionless and seamless. But a few days ago, there was a pop up message saying that I should go and do KYC. So I was surprised but I just click on later. So again, deposit was seamless.

But when I was about to withdraw my winnings but it won't let me as I have to go that KYC. I was just frustrated though that they allowed me to keep on depositing money that I lost. But when I won they won't allow me withdraw without going to do KYC.

In my country, local gambling sites are fiat gambling sites, they do not request anything like KYC from you, all they need is the account you used to deposit, that is immediately used to know about you.

I have registered on 4 local gambling sites before, none of them demanded for KYC from me till today but I know they have the necessary information from my bank account.

About your complaint, you should not be surprised because you are not new on this forum. This is common on crypto many gambling sites.

That is very annoying, yet usual, issue that happens because actions of casino are guided by strict Anti Money Laundering rules, even though it seems unfair that it is easy to put money in, but hard to take it out. Deposits to casino became smooth process since money being deposited is not risky in their hands, however once you are trying to take out large amount, they will start AML check since they are forced by law to check who you are and start of your funds to prevent crime, and that is why your old KYC should have been made new. To fix this quickly, you need to call customer support to find out what new papers ID, address, or source of funds they need because only way to get your winnings is to finish the KYC.

I have had a similar experience. Fortunately, I only deposited a small amount. So when I won, the issue arose, but it wasn't a significant amount. The only possible thing I could think of is that your first kyc wasn’t accepted so you had to do it again. I don’t think you should have to keep doing it, it would get annoying then

It’s a common but frustrating casino setup where deposits stay smooth and unrestricted for as long as you're losing, yet the moment you try to withdraw your winnings they suddenly enforce strict KYC rules, making it feel like verification only matters when it benefits the house and putting players at an unfair disadvantage.

If I'm not mistaken, and this is true to crypto exchange, or any services that deals with crypto, that you need to update your KYC or personal data to the services themselves. And so this could be the case here, it just so happen that maybe after a year or two, this casino require them by law to asked their customers to have a updated personal data.

And we all know that KYC is already mandated, so we shouldn't question why crypto or even fiat base are asking for it. This is what we sign for, I know we don't like to send across our data, but you can't play with casino without passing one or updating a previous old data of yours.

This is a normal scenario. Just because you submitted KYC years ago doesn’t mean you’re not required to submit again. Regulations change, and casinos have to comply with whatever the regulators require.

For me, I haven’t been asked for KYC on gambling sites yet, but I can compare it to our local exchanges where almost every year we’re required to update our KYC. Well, at Stake, I've been doing KYC for a long time and it's been pretty smooth from the start. And everything has been going well. I prefer sites that ask users to do KYC sooner rather than later, meaning before they can make a deposit.

However, it's also quite common that initially, we don't need KYC, but when we want to make a withdrawal of a certain amount, we have to complete KYC first. However, in most cases, once KYC is completed, the withdrawal issue is resolved immediately. Except under certain conditions. But sometimes it can be a bit inconvenient. Regulators keep making new laws that mandate casinos to ask for more information from bettors. So these casinos might need more information from you to update the ones they have. The casino was nice enough to inform you of the need to do KYC. Some of them will not tell you and just block you from withdrawing. Almost all casinos would allow you to deposit and play games without restriction, they will only ask for information when you want to withdraw, it's normal. Smooth deposit and rough withdrawal are real.

Its very simple mate, feom your explanation it seems the KYC you did some years ago did not work, or probably their system has upgrades and needs their customers to do another KYC. Now if there was a message pop up asking you to do kyc and you clicked later, and now it didn't allow you to withdraw, it means that you need to go back and complete your KYC to withdraw your fund. Apart from that there is no way you can withdraw your fund except you don want your fund then you can allow it to slide away. Just go and do your KYC and withdraw. But if you did it and it didn't allow you withdraw then only then will you contact the customer service.

Before you deposit and play games, what exactly is your KYC status on your profile? Do they think your account is out of date or what? It's hard to make a judgment on how "scummy" they were if we don't know how they actually operate. I have a similar experience on my local exchange. They suddenly show me a notice that I should update my KYC if it's out of date, but my profile shows it's still okay, so I continue using them just fine. I won't be surprised if they suddenly freeze my account because I keep postponing the update, even though nothing really changes on my end.

I think you should post the name of the casino here and evidence to back the claim. Because there are so many fiat based less known casinos running like this, it needs to come to common knowledge of their malpractice.

Although it might not help recover your money without doing kyc and you have to do kyc anyway, others will become aware of it.

Now coming back to the preventive measure, avoid local fiat casinos and regional casinos.

That’s a normal procedure, and it varies from country to country depending on where the casino operates. There could also be major changes since the last time you did KYC a few years ago. Now it’s usually not the casino handling the KYC anymore. They use a third-party partner to verify it for them. But don’t worry, those companies are registered too.

So when you’re asked to do a new KYC, you’ll be redirected to the verifier’s website and you just complete the compliance there. It might not be the same process as before, but it’s still legit and necessary if you want to keep playing in the casino.

Pretty bad tbh, I was also experiencing right now with a casino that has pretty bad with withdrawal and it's for 2x now that they've refunded it considering it's always says unconfirmed and most of the time transaction goes for a day. It's bad to let users experience like this because it really hurts their integrity as a crypto casino. I'm not depositing in them again tbh.
