By the way, there are currently a lot of international friendly matches being played ahead of the World Cup. Do you think these matches should be taken seriously for betting purposes, or are they essentially pointless and even risky to bet on?

For example, France losing to Ivory Coast, Spain drawing with Iraq despite being a clear favorite, or the Netherlands playing against Algeria, and so on. In many of these games, the stronger team clearly had the advantage on paper but still failed to deliver the expected result.

In my opinion, it is better to avoid betting on these matches and wait for the World Cup to begin. Friendly matches are exactly the kind of bets I would consider low quality and unreliable.

If you find them interesting and you watch the matches and have an interest in them, then you can take them seriously and stack up some bets with them, but if you're like me, who rarely bet on games like this or even watch them, then I don't think going through with it as a pick in gambling is a good choice.

There are lots of games that you could take and make a pretty decent prediction on, if this happens to be one of them for you, I don't see any reason why not to bet on it, but for me it's a no go zone.

Money you can save is being wasted on junk bets. Why are you placing bets if you know the success rate is frankly low. If you know they are junk bets you can do other things in the day. You waste your time placing junk bets with a low success rate without making analysis. Why throw your money at losing. If all bets are junk bets.

Success rate doesn't matter. You can make 8 / 10 winning bets and still be in loss if they really are safe bets. And even if those odds wouldn't be as small, it's unlikely in the long run that your occasional losses wouldn't wipe out your gains, because that's how the system is planned. It's statistically favoring the casino. Only way to make money is to beat the odds and be lucky, which is statistically unlikely.

So maybe don't judge how other gamble their money. You just sound like you are making psychological projection and being frustrated of your own bets.

Indeed and also addictive if you failed to control your emotions, there are so many instances that you might fall to that perception that you can win huge but most of the time, it will turned south and lead you to lose a lot, though luck always influence the outcome of you do have decent numbers of attempts and manage to wisely use your luck you may be able cash out decently after some good winning streaks.

Most people do feel that chasing for another win is more better than the one they have at hand, because they feel after winning in streak, they can keep winning if they continue trying and this makes them to lose their guard and become addicted, as their emotions decides for them and to prevent damage from happening, they had to shut out every thought that won't be helpful to them and defending negative impact is the best way of beating gambling from being in control of you.

That's better if you are just using your spare or you bonus, as you'll not going to take things seriously knowing that the chance can turned to south, it's easier to accept and move forward once the outcome is not on your side as luck influence it a lot, but by chance you win it's a good way to cashout your profits.

If there was a sure way to have guaranteed success in betting, trust me, nothing would stop me from engaging it since that is what we are all looking for, but it's rather unfortunate that there is absolutely no known sure way to guarantee success, everyone is simply trying one thing and if it works, fine, they try it again but if it doesn't, they try another, this is basically what I am doing and I've learnt to make this the norm so long as its betting we are talking about..

Personally though. I don't gamble for money so on the norm, achieving success in my betting should be something I should care about, but then like I always say, there is no fun in losing money most especially when there was a way it would have been done to bring success, this is why regardless of the fact that most of my bets are casual, I still try to look for ways to win not minding that the win is not that important.

But a controlled bets will yield good results since we will only be betting on the games that will have more conviction of a win. At the moment, there are not many games. The thing is, most games we bet on reluctantly or just to waste money we end up winning such bets but this doesn't really happen everytime. On the other hand junk bets can lead to lots of losses as well especially when you gamble with a lot of emotions, this will make you do things that you are going to regret later on.

When a bookie might give me a small free bet, I tend to waste it on such bets.

I seel what's live and place a huge multi bet with the multiplier reaching very high numbers. Of course certain events are very unreliable to bet on. Some match for instance on eSports might give a player 1.2 odds because he won his last matches but he loses so spectacularly that the odds suddenly make no sense.

If you even combine certain matches like this then it's very hard to win. But it's nevertheless fun to build large tickets with live matches

But i usually bet on the per quarter, sets or rounds not the final winning result because just like you said it's like junk bets since analyzing is not even possible for that time period. I personally try to avoid those bets which you call junk bets, because I effectively believe I am just wasting my time and money when I engage in those.
I always try to have enough time to give my bets and minimum of technical analysis, so I increase my edge against other bettors.
It would not make any sense to bet blindly on teams, it would be rather similar to gambling and betting and there would be not even a trace of consistency with those bets.

It is better not to do those junk bets and not to go for parlays which do no any sense at all, unless we find those junk bets to be exceptionally entertaining and dopamine inducing.

What ever name you call it, it's a normal experience for every gambler sometimes I do this by betting on live games after which I have previously placed bet of the games before they start. Irrespective of whether you're making junk bet or not, every penny spent to gamble must come from your gambling allocation anything outside your allocation is irresponsible gambling which can ruin your finances without you knowing because it seemed harmless in the beginning.

Yeah, Picking fewer games is more preferable than junk bets, as one can really be in control of it and easy to analyze. Also, there are no many games for one to be able to bet good games, that is why some pro like you will start to bet when the World Cup tournament to begin, as there will be enough game for them to picks. But for now, its better to lay low because chasing junk bets without discipline can easily make one's bankroll to disappear.

Absolutely. The more focused and determined you are, the better your chances of making good profits. I usually avoid placing these types of junk bets. If money is involved, you should be completely focused and do proper research on the game or bet before placing it.

Sometimes I do place junk bets, but my definition of a junk bet is different. For example, when I want to play a dice game, I place $0 bets 1–10 times in a row. First time I heard about that term, "junk bet", in any case it's that definition. Because you are betting on games that you didn't analyse and just based on your gut instinct I guess. But there could be time that you might be right and didn't expect to win but lo and behold, you hit that huge windfall.

Of course the best strategy is to really do some in-depth analysis prior to the game. But I don't bet in games that are too far, like month in advance. At least a week or 3 days before the game, I make sure that I have put my bet and there are no looking back.

Specially if you have like doing parlay, although there was one thread about someone winning big with just a small capital but you need extreme luck to really win that kind of bet. As compare to just betting one game at a time, your chances are higher to win.

And maybe you can just roll over your wins and pick another match that you think might likely give you a better chance to win. We gambles sometimes need a strategy specially in games like in World Cup that is going to be short but I still think the tournament will give us a bigger chance to win big money.
