Exchanges can't provide descriptions for any P2P trade we carry out, once the descriptions is used by most vendors it will pull the attention to scrutinize why so many transactions are getting the same description.

I'll be very suprised if this present administration that's bent on taxation from the onset would implement a law and not enforce it, my take is that they'll take it more seriously since most of them selfish politicians are looking for more means to loot public funds that they'll use to fund their election come 2027. There are many things money is being used for on a daily, so sticking to one description when making every transfer should be avoided. If today you went to the market to buy groceries, they don’t expect you to keep putting in your description “grocery purchase” everyday. I just feel this is not something to think much about, when the time comes, there will be a lot of options to choose from and use for descriptions. Almost everyone involved in cryptocurrencies are smart and as such will find a way through to add the best description when sending out money. As for the enforcement of the tax reform, it’ll be done and I don’t have a second thought about it.

It is true that the transaction having a tag would help reduce suspicion from the bank and by right that is what is supposed to be down but we all know the country we are and how the banks and government can go to any extent to make sure they get what they want so it is better you think of a tag that would remove their eyes from your transaction and not taxing the transaction for any reasons. Because from one of the news I saw few weeks ago where the minister was talking, he said " that they might tax transactions without any clear tag" so if you know what is good for you, tag your transaction as appropriate not to attract attention to it.

My major concern about this is that those criminals in key offices in our financial sectors will use it as an avenue to debit those ignorant citizens that are not informed on how to navigate their way around this, in other not to be double tax, because they will easily do it to enrich themselves.
Though as a Nigerian I am a bit confident that we are going to look for or discover a loopholes to exploit when the time comes, but my big concern is our age parents that are not that conversant with digital banking and how to apply tag to each transaction made.

I don't think tax will be charged based on your description of transaction, that doesn't make any sense at all, the space to describe your transaction is always optional not compulsory, so why forcing users to describe at least a little to avoid been taxed.

That is a sketchy movement by the government if that is what they want, they are criminals for observing a user's payment description.

The tax is not gonna come as the year starts with every transaction as they do with charges. As we can see now once you’re sending out money more from #10,000 and above you’ll be the one to pay an additional #50 stamp duty charge. The tax the government proposed is gonna come at the end of the year, after they’ve calculated how much money came in as income then you’ll be charged a particular percentage depending on the range where you fall into. Adding descriptive tags that will show the money coming in is not a form of income is the only thing we can do for now and also not use the same description too much.
Our politicians are greedy and wicked and they’ll see their evil plans through.
