I have met a lot of football fans like this and I will say that they defend their favorite team even in defeat because they are loyal to the club, when they start coming up with excuses even when they are wrong there's no point in keeping the conversation going because you already know they are trying to defend their favourite club. I'm also a football fan and I have a favorite team,  I don't spot out dumb reasons why they lost or use previous Victories as a cover up, I always make sure I'm not being biased. People must accept the fact their club can lose at anytime even if they consider the team to be formidable. But in the end fans would always be fans regardless of what anyone says

Some of those fans that are ignorant are the major problems with local football leagues, most times here in my country we have club's in the local League call Kano pailars, from Kano State Nigeria, this club have historical patterns of violence attacks on opposite team players and some time, their home fans attack the players when they lose a match.

Fans will rather lie and save their self from shame than admit the mistake of their clubs. I see that you don't know what it takes to be football fans. These are groups of communities who enjoys the games by protecting the interests of their teams at all course and even when you have to be grieved with the team for not playing accordingly that is expected to bring you wins, the anxieties of the bad felling will only last a while.

This is very natural; there is a desire to defend what one likes, I used to feel this way too. But as I grew up and had a family, I realized this is just a sport, nothing more. I have become realistic. I will admit if the team I support plays poorly. So now I feel there is no point once the match is over and we can see the score. Because that is the final result that cannot be changed. Doing silly things will only make us tired. It will also harm us and the club if we cause riots or even damage club facilities and endanger the team.

This is normal because I think this is a form of our love for the club we support so that no matter how bad the performance in the match is or when a lot of defeats are suffered then as much as possible we will defend our favorite club.

I always feel this way when many of my colleagues in the real world make unpleasant statements for their favorite club. If you think about it, things like this seem to be ridiculous but indeed conditions like this are always created because we idolize the club too much.
