Fans behavior when there teams suffer serious lost in games

Fans are too much when they do that, they do personal attacks because they didn't see what they like to see from the team they are supporting.

That is also not all about passion for the sports that they are watching because you don't have to do that.

We understand frustrations and that manifests into their personal attacks but, as much as they can control they should have done it.

Actually, I am very active in sports betting, so I am also very active in various sports prediction discussions on this forum. From what I have understood, in sports prediction discussions, very humiliating terms are often used against the entire team and criticized, even if they are citizens of that country. In fact, people don't say such things directly against their own country's team on these global platforms out of frustration. Otherwise, no one would want to speak out and insult their own country.

Still, we should all always present logical criticisms. It would be better if there were no humiliating issues here.

I think fans are only telling that when they're so disgusted with the ongoing games and for them to have something for their team, they're throwing bad words and uncalled ones to the opposing team.

That's unprofessional but we know how professional most athletes or players are. And when they hear such words, most of them don't even react at all.

Or if they are reactive to it, it's just like that they nod or trying to argue a bit and then heads back to the game. But doing and saying so much, fans should know limits.

For example, if Manchester united or Chelsea loses any game, fans always cover there shame with useless excuses gotten from teams history instead of stating the obvious or the analyzed reasons for there teams failure. Fans finds it difficult to accept their losses since they never believe they could lost the game, they had full confident with their team and so they move away from the real cause of their losses and start putting the blame on irrelevant issues.

Yeah, it happened but now fans have evolved they only fight each other via social media in the name of hate comments.

At least there is no property to trash now since things are happening digitally but spreading hatred still happens, that is an attempt to convince others to hate them as well.

And it's not just in loss even after win there can be serious issue like the one happened in IPL 2025. RCB won the title and went back to their home stadium for people to celebrate because this is their first championship since the beginning of IPL but it costed 12 or 18 lives due to the stampede that happened at the gathering.

Yeah, now they are getting banned, limited, and issued strikes to violating community guidelines and other rules. I can see there are meme wars between the fans of Asian countries. Afghanistan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, and Bangladeshi fans are mostly doing this. Also, Sri Lankan fans do not leave anyone. They do the same thing. There are a lot of troll pages as well that just post sports memes, mostly about cricket.

Some people might criticize them, but some others find this funny. Those pages troll the players and the teams when they perform poorly. So, I think this is both criticism and entertainment. I think you have heard about Lords pages.

Oh yea haha serious die hard fans ALWAYS find something to pin the loss on. I call that their loss anchor and yes its a pretty common thing amongst sports fans. Its dissapointing and subconsiously it helps people cope with the loss and move on with their lives. In a sense it helps to close the loop otherwise they would be up all night trying to analyze and figure out what exactly went wrong and how they could have put themselves in a better position etc etc. I feel like that will always be a coping mechanism for sports bettors.

Unnecessary arguments is what birth to all of these happenings, when you're in a match, you don't need to engage on any form of arguments with others, because we don't know who may likely react negatively towards what has been talked about, people seem to like violence by nature when they see that they are not comfortable with what is happening, instead of using a suitable approach or let go, then resulted in fights and damage things.

That's true and it's mostly trolling that leads to the argument, I visited a match viewing center in my locality to see the Manchester City vs Arsenal Carabao Cup final cause I couldn't watch it alone at home. The match was very interesting but later turn violent when City fans began to troll an Arsenal fan, saying they'll never win a trophy even in the next decade, it was too much for a particular Arsenal fan to bear so he stood up an thew first punch at a City fan and both fans began to exchange words and punches. Too much trolling is what mostly lead to violence like these.

It seems a primitive instinct of belonging to a tribe and acting as one. An offense to one of the tribesman is an offense against the whole tribe, so they act immediately to protect themselves against an external threat (a rival tribe). Soccer plays with the pride of the clubs involved and their fans. To win is a must in order to make their pride prevail towards everyone else. It feels special and superior to win an important championship or title.

And when the club loses, the fans are hit on the core of their selves. As a primitive mechanism of defense, they appeal to physical aggression. It's a survival instinct for people who are still unable to identify that is not a serious threat or something important at all...

Defeat is always disappointing for fans who have supported their favorite team. But nowadays, I think many fan bases are better when the team they support experiences a loss. Taunting from opposing team fans is common, after all, it is a match that will determine winning or losing.
When we are part of the fans, we may have to realize that the team we support may not always win. But the role of fans is especially important at times like this. Continue to support the team's recovery and the process to become better.

They were right I also think that these are other common things in sports even if a player is on form he can be bullied by the opponent team supporters even that was also unprofessional but if that player make react on those comments from the ground then I think that will be also unprofessional behaviour from a player.

Even then, we still see players in both cricket and football reacting to their fans or those who criticize them, and there have been many cases where they have even gone so far as to beat up fans. I would agree with you that this kind of behavior is an example of unprofessionalism.

This is however not related to fans of sports teams, it is a wider issue that stems from how many people are. You will find this behavior in other contexts and places, but perhaps here it is a bit more pronounced as emotions tend to run high by those who are invested in the games that are being played. Some people will for example even start cursing at you for making a small driving error. Obviously there is no justification for this, errors are normal and happen to everybody and as long as they are small and corrected on time there is no issue at all. Yet some people abrupt in fire over this. Similarly, people who are extremely invested in the sports game may display their various coping styles when things do not go as expected. One of the coping styles is exactly that, you turn against the person or people that you have actually supported. In general we need human re-education, only a tiny percentage have any control over their emotions or know how to act reasonably in most situations. With that, second order situations where this happens are going to disappear such as the case with fans here.

Well yes that some fans does this but not every fan, As a footballer and football enthusiast I don't watch games based on emotions or particularly because of my love for the club that I support but I watch football games base on what I see play out on the pitch during the match, and If my team did not do well in a particular match I usually point it out, wether due to the fault is from the coach, players or the keeper.

That is a way to distract like the chants that are being heard from the opposing fans. But the athletes are used to this.

Choosing to be a good fan is never something bad as long as you know the limit to how you do it. Even if your team is losing, you can always give them your support, but never fight other fans in respect to that because they disagree with you or go with their idea of betting for your team to win even when it's very much obvious that they will lose.

Choosing to be a good fan is never something bad as long as you know the limit to how you do it. Even if your team is losing, you can always give them your support, but never fight other fans in respect to that because they disagree with you or go with their idea of betting for your team to win even when it's very much obvious that they will lose.

I think it's actually different than how you are describing it, because fans who actually get angry on their own favourite team are the ones who love the game so much that they are too emotionally attached to it, and it's not about bets or money but it's about their emotions getting hurt, so they lash out on their own team and the players for not performing up to their expectations. Also, I have observed that people mostly don't make bets on their favourite teams, and even if they do, they don't get angry for losing money but it's more about them losing the game.

Those who get angry for money and their bets are not actual fans of football or the teams, they only care about making money, and when they lose, they get angry, sometimes to the extent that they start breaking things and even using bad language about the team and the players, and this is not only in football, this happens in every sport. I have also seen cricket fans do the same thing, and it has never been about money, but it's about their emotions getting hurt because of the team they love and support all the time. And what's funny is that they support the same team still after all that.

There are people who finds it hard to control their emotions especially if they are angry, due how tough the match might be, that is why anything that involves competition, one should be careful on how they approach or treat it and should also be aware that its all for fun and anything can happen, so having this mindset can help to build up your minds and keep you informed about your emotions or your feelings. And accepting the fact that games is not what one should fight or worried about, because it can be their turn to win in the future.
