Impressive that Lebron James held on to a streak that started since 2007. At surface level, this kind of headline may make people believe that he has reached beyond his prime and is no longer a skilled player and time has passed. But to me this shows that he has become a more complete player and a mature one. How will people be betting now? Will people still be betting on James’ double digit points after today?

James' run of 1,297 consecutive double-digit regular-season scoring efforts ended Thursday night, when the NBA's career points leader was held to eight points in the Los Angeles Lakers' 123-120 win over the Toronto Raptors. He had the game-winning assist, setting up Rui Hachimura's 3-pointer as time expired.

I think after nearly 1300 games of double digit scoring in games people will still continue to bet that he will score a decent amount each games. He is still averaging over 15 points per game this season.

For what I've see before that he has a back injury but already been able to play, it's his 2nd consecutive match where he didn't score more than 10 so we can cross out that theory. I'm not sure if he's just giving chance or letting his teammate do the work or probably just a bad games since both of his last matches are more than 30 mins of total game time. We'll see in some of the upcoming matches regarding his performance, but without a doubt you he can still clearly do it. But regarding the streak he has 1,297 consecutive matches where he scores more than 10 than comes to an end which started from 2007, just imagine it, 18 years that you don't have less than 10 points and it ends now, that's really something you can beat easily.

Personally I don't place bet on player stats, but for those who do, I think they lose a certain amount considering that it's common for Lebron to score 2 digits per game.

He also got older. It's not like a top pro NBA star would retain their standing and same output. LeBron proven already his excellence in Basketball for a very long time. I don't see this to be an issue at all. Maybe some just literally expecting of him cause his famous but that's how age affect performance in a game.

Plus there will come a time that many young players will surpass him for sure.

There really must be something going on with him, because when he came back he wasn’t scoring much. It looked like he was just letting Luka and Reaves handle the scoring load but in that Raptors game, even though they won, his shooting was terrible. He was trying, but going 4–17 is rough.

The good thing is he’s contributing in other ways. In that same game he had 11 assists, which is huge, especially since he made the winning assist on Rui Hachimura’s game-winning shot.

Before facing the Toronto Raptors, LeBron James' performance was very poor when the LA Lakers played against the Phoenix Suns. LeBron James only scored 10 points against the Phoenix Suns. And again against Toronto, LeBron James' performance was even worse as he only scored single digits, which was 8 points. Maybe next season LeBron James should already have plans to retire. Actually, LeBron James continues to play just to mentor and accompany his son so that he can also become a great player in the NBA.

I came across some news online saying LeBron is already a grandfather, but honestly I’m not even sure if that’s reliable. If it turns out true, maybe that’s part of the reason he doesn’t look as explosive as before? Hard to say. He can still play, no doubt, but seeing him struggle to even hit 20 points lately is kinda surprising.

I think he knows that one day that his record is going to end. But the good thing here is that he is the one who made that assist to Rui and he sank that corner three. Unless it shows how he doesn't care about that record as he could have taken the last shot and it if hits then his record continues.

So they win this game and maybe the next game he will thinks of starting a new record. But who knows how many games he had in the NBA as father time is undefeated and sooner or later he will have to retire for good.

Now that the scoring streak is over the next thing to watch for LeBron is becoming 2nd all time on the assists list. He’s currently projected to do that on Christmas Day.

John Cruyff once said "you have to leave the football before the football leaves you" this statement at this point is my best wishes for LeBron James, personally I think he has done so much well and is not should be considered a legend and not to force himself on the face of the people, from now the big bets on he will drastically reduce it may not be effective for now but soon it will definitely be obvious that it's time for him to make plans to leave the court before he ruins all the big digit he has done. I think LeBron James is more interested in the endorsements, ambassadorship and a couple other business deals he's been able to create for the past years based off his success. That doesn't mean he ain't that good anymore definitely we have a couple new stars but I'll say the LeBron James set ain't out of the spotlight still.

He's still gonna be a star buh it's just normal that you can't stay in the spotlight totally forever.

It's seemingly unlikely that he'll play since he was freshly diagnosed of left foot joint arthritis and there's a shift of concern on his health. Also Lakers doesn't really depend on him now for success and are nurturing the next generation team.

Maybe he leads from the bench or would be totally ruled out on health grounds.

We should have seen that one coming. I mean, he was really struggling to score when he came back, and it only became worse as we progressed this season. I don't know how this person is feeling throughout the game, in the last second, and after the game.

This guy must've been a consistent bettor on LeBron's streaks. Despite his poor performance against the Suns, this guy remains confident.
Well, if you convert that confidence into numbers, that's $15k wins $576.92 if LeBron kept the streak alive.

He’s 40 years old, nobody can defy the ageing process. He’s one of the greatest to ever play the game but at some point he was always going to decline from his super human best.

They have Luka and Reaves who take care of the scoring load. That's why Lebron has the luxury to rest right now although at the start of this season, he wasn't able to play like he used to because of his injuries.

But still though at this age, he can still run and dunk the ball like he is still in his prime. Obviously, the Lakers concern is his health and not the record and the win. However, there are still several records to chase as mentioned like in the assists category that he can set once he is back healthy again in this season.

Well, all good things or in this case, run of form must come to an end. No matter how much we wish/don't want it to end. Rather than see this as a drop in quality, I actually see this as a good thing. On the bright side, King James holding that record for that number of games goes to show how beastly he has been over the years in the NBA.

That said, I expect this performances to continue producing diminishing returns until he eventually hangs the boot.

Being a grandfather doesn’t automatically decline anyone physical abilities, he has three kids two boys and a girl they are all very young especially the girl who is the last so if it’s true it’s either of the boys but I think if it’s true it will make the headlines.
LeBron is aging he is an athlete that is a big example to others but the physical form can’t be at the best levels every time, the Streak may have ended but it will not be forgotten.
