I have been busy and not that active on this board for a long, long time. Grin. What I see now is only a few guys coming up with topics and actively participating in @Bitcoin Smith, @pawanjain. What happened to the other @amishmanish, @Benson Samuel, @Heisenberg_Hunter, @dishwara. If they are not active, why does this board still have their post pinned? I do not understand the fact that posts of these guys are still pinned when the whole Indian government has come up with hidden laws, which we will never hear directly from them, and are not pinned. I am not a big ranking member here, but there are a few who could take this responsbility and contact the moderators.

Do you, high-ranking members of this board, need some permission from the community, or do you think that your DM will be overlooked? I am not so active here, and I am still a beginner here. Whereas some of you have been here for quite a few years. Think about it and then reply.

@Benson Samuel Last Active:   November 18, 2020, 09:21:08 AM
@Heisenberg_Hunter Last Active:   November 11, 2025, 06:39:00 PM
@dishwara Last Active:   January 02, 2025, 01:26:46 AM

Not active doesn't mean their posts/threads lost their relevance here, some of them needs reworking.

I do not understand the fact that posts of these guys are still pinned when the whole Indian government has come up with hidden laws, which we will never hear directly from them, and are not pinned. I am not a big ranking member here, but there are a few who could take this responsbility and contact the moderators.

As I said we need some new pinned threads and if I am not wrong, this came up into the discussion in one of my threads and users said we need to compile the sources and post it as thread and then contact the Global mod or admin for pinning it, then the idea faded away. If you are interested you can create the thread that contains the information and also ask the admin for pinning it.

Why hold a grudge towards the inactive forum users ? If you feel you can create a thread that is worth pinning then why not create it first.
If it will be really pin worthy we can all try to get it pinned by asking the moderator to pin it.
As far as the old threads are still relevant they can remain pinned. I do agree that few threads are outdated and can be unpinned now though.

I do not know who they are or where they come from, so I find it hard to hold any grudge. There are a few things that I feel need to be revamped and updated, which is why I created this post. I’ve been quite busy with my day job, which is why I haven't made a new post to update the current pinned threads. If you think the moderators will consider my post, which I will update, I will work on it over the coming weekend.

I still believe that the threads pinned here need to be updated. As Bitcoin Smith pointed out, the original creators are no longer active. These threads should be deleted, and a new one should be pinned. This would give a fresh look and a new perspective to the local thread for newcomers to this forum from India.

If you have suggestions please do post the same, we have been trying to revamp this section for long and we are getting traction here in terms of new members coming in and old members coming back.

Of course very old names are probably not coming back - but this is a forum and we cannot force someone to come back, it is their choice, and we have to go with what we have at hand.

If you think the moderators will consider my post, which I will update, I will work on it over the coming weekend.

Rank doesn't matter, as long as you can compile the resources that is good enough to be pinned then you can contact global mod or admin to pin that thread and also explain to them why it needs to be pinned via PM or in the following thread itself.

I still believe that the threads pinned here need to be updated. As Bitcoin Smith pointed out, the original creators are no longer active. These threads should be deleted, and a new one should be pinned. This would give a fresh look and a new perspective to the local thread for newcomers to this forum from India.
Old thread and no longer active isn't enough reason to get them removed but if it is worth updating then you can do it. And yeah new thread will always attract new perspective into the discussion.

I just reported one of the pinned threads which was very old and consisted of a dead link and got it removed.
This shows that our mod is active on our reports and so we can get a new post pinned too
You can come up with your own version of an existing thread and we can get it pinned while unpinning the old one.
Go for it.

There is no dedicated mod yet for our local board but this shows that global mods are still moderating when we report and I reported many of the posts from our board and get deleted almost instantly so that proves again the mod can understand the stuff and do it if necessary. I thought about creating one to pin but lost somewhere with idea of what are the things to add but in future I might take sometime to create one too.

In last few years too many people came in and gone, nothing matters because this is all about cycle. They were doing their stuff and having good time here and now probably got busy in their life. Currently we are we are here, maybe after few months to years not sure what we do or at least myself, but new members will join here for sure, and they will keep things running like us.

I do not understand the fact that posts of these guys are still pinned when the whole Indian government has come up with hidden laws, which we will never hear directly from them, and are not pinned.
I am not fully aware of how to get a topic pinned still when informative topics occurs, I guess global or local mods can do that. Or we may place a request in Meta or by sending DM to Mods. Getting a topic pinned is not a big deal in my opinion but the high quality topics and contents.

I saw lot of Indian names and they also mentioned about INR in the gambling section but they are not active here for whatever reason. We can't force them to stay active here but if there is enough quality discussion is happening then I am sure it will make them to be active here.

We also need to start discussing bitcoin as technology not just price here in my opinion, that is the whole point right?

The people who were into the tech are not active here, H_H was working with the core devs but he does not like to come here anymore.

For now we can keep sharing Indian Economics, business and bitcoin like we are doing. Have to do this grind for a few years maybe before we see some traction.

Yeah had no idea I had been inactive for so long. The years from 2022 had been a major change in my life. I started on the forum in around 2017, really interested in crypto, bitcoin etc. Back then, discussions were still tractable without things getting lost in a sea of replies. I was the type who was into "believing" in projects and not really selling off the top. I never bought significant bitcoin because investing even around a Lakh back then seemed like a big deal.

I was mostly on the forum to learn about bitcoin, found Satoshi's history very entertaining and made a few good friends. It was just that I used to have a lot of time on hand to post and talk about things and I eventually reached legendary and became a merit source etc. I guess the OGs of the forum had noticed. It maybe hard to believe but I never really made a lot of money from the signature campaigns. Not 1 BTC as @pawanjain said in another post. Plus most of what I used to earn from sig campaigns, i put into Alt-coins. In a believer sort of way. and we all know how that turned out.

Just logged in today after a very long time and had even forgotten and had to reset the password. That leads to certain issues too I guess. But i anyways don't intend to be regular. The forum hasn't changed much since 2024. Just the same cycle of sig campaigns, gambling posts, random discussions initiated just for the sake of it.

I have a bit of sendable merit and would be happy to share it to any good posts here in the Indian forum.

Good to hear back from you after so long. It's your personal choice whether to stay regular on the forum or do occasional posting.
I would like to say that we should not stop accumulating bitcoin and keep our motivation high to meet our primary goal of accumulating 1 bitcoin.
If you have found some other ways to invest more money into bitcoin then I am happy for you but for me personally, signature campaigns are still a viable option.

Last year I made some terrible trading decisions which ended up eating 50% of my portfolio.
I regretted a lot but chose to continue my journey to 1 BTC with slow and steady progress instead of using shortcuts.
At some point of time, I believe that I will achieve that goal and wish the same for you.
It would be nice to see you regularly posting on the forum though.  Smiley

Hello everyone!
I’m new to the forum, and it’s nice to see that you have a strong and friendly community here.

If it’s not a secret, what trading decisions did you make that you call terrible? I’d be interested in reading a post about your experience.

Give it a read. May be you can learn from my mistake and make your conviction about holding bitcoin stronger.

I read your post — thanks for sharing!
Honestly, this story feels familiar to almost every Bitcoin holder; I think at least once in Bitcoin’s history everyone has made a similar mistake. Timing the market correctly for buying or selling is extremely difficult Wink Cheesy

This is deep, and it looks like you are from that age group who were among the earliest to know about Bitcoin and the forum.

I never intended to be regular here, as I am having a good day job with my own setup, but one fine day, I thought of checking the forum and found that the local board was dried up. Only a handful were interacting. I felt replying, and whenever I could, I would come back regardless of my rank to help those who are trying to make this board active.

I had the same mindset until 2023 until I decided to post the comparison of where we are in localboards and at one point we were at the bottom of the list that is what pushed me to make others active too. I tried to keep them engaged by creating more threads instead of just relying on replying to others queries, which helped to push a bit further. But the number of active users never took a spike like it happened with other boards even though lot of Indians are active on bitcointalk.

You are right. The Indian board has very low number of active members which makes the engagement low on this board.
That said, we all have been trying to keep this board alive by contributing with whatever methods we have.
So far the board is active and we also saw a few new members posting in this board and hoping to see that number increase in future.
It would be great to have you active on this board. If not, at least you can post whenever you feel like.
