There are lots of ways to improve your decision making akills and gambling is definitely not one of them...although I get your point but I think it is necessary to use gambling as a way to improve or tackle the problem of poor decision making..you can simply work.on yourself and focus on becoming more disciplined instead of trying to put all that attention into gambling to curb their ability of making poor decisions

I think some people might agree with this and some are not, I'm not really sure where I would go with this one, it's true that gambling can teach you regarding decision making but I doubt that it will be effective in low value, most of us here learned the hard way and some people actually lose everything or almost everything with this one. I think there are better ways you can learn discipline and resilience and personally there's a safer and better way than using money or in gambling. I know that if you really manage to control your emotion and decision, you can gamble without thinking about being addicted to it, it's better to learn it outside the gambling rather than learning it in gambling because the chance that you'll ended up addicted or fail to learn is higher.

I believe if someone is irresponsible in real life, they will also being irresponsible in gambling. So, if you ask them to gambling, that's not really the best solution.

There's a better solution and easy to do which is toss a coin. Make sure to only have two choices, then put the option A on tails and option B on heads, after that toss the coin and call it in the air. When the coin is in the air, some people will make decision rather than pick tails or heads because they will value both advantages and disadvantages in short time. Hence, the decision would be made when the coin is still in the air rather than when the coin fall to the ground.

Unfortunately, because it may have worked for you or it is working for you doesn't mean it will work for others. I love your idea but but it may just be only unique to only you and have no application to anybody else.
In my estimation, making life decisions is different from making decisions. There are so many crucial skills that you can learn to make good decisions and gambling doesn't cut it for me. It is a fun activity that should be enjoyed just like a hobby and after that you focus on your life.

IMO, gambling does not correlate with other aspects of our lives. I may have financial discipline when gambling, but wont discipline myself when I go out to drink, smoke, or club. I also noticed that each player experiences gambling differently because it excites the mind, unleashing deep feelings and emotions. For some, this can even lead to narcissism, with the certainty that they, and not the other players, will win, even though there may be no real basis for this. Sometimes, I even observed responsible people at work acting like children in games, with their naivety, faith in the best, and hope, despite having absolutely no strategy. I couldn't wrap my head around this until I realized that you can't compare a person's real-life performance to what they can do in a game.

In order to be able to gamble responsibly you already have to be a responsible decision maker not the other way around, you can't seriously expect someone who is already struggling with the decision making to go into gambling in order to get that part of their lives in track regardless of whether the love the idea of gambling or not, if this method works for you then I'm glad you got through it without becoming the biggest gambling addict there is, that said there is actually no way for me to know for sure so there is that but I wouldn't be advising anyone to take this advice of yours because I am fairly sure it will most likely backfire.

honestly I feel like it is a bit risky especially for someone who’s already struggling with decision making, for me it doesn’t naturally teach structure. Most people get emotional because of it the wins make you overconfident, the losses stress you out. There are safer activities that offer the same benefits w/o the addictive element like strategy games, trading simulations, decision making workshops or even sports, those still give feedback, pressure & require discipline but w/o the financial & psychological risks.

So what’s your point? I understand from your post that you are pretty much telling people to smarten up. Only if it was that easy. If I everyone were clever, then nobody would take the losing side of any bet and that would kill the whole gambling industry because nobody would accept losing.

Well said, I fully agree with you, in Poker experience plays a very important role and the ones who're skilled in it can do much better. A beginner who isn't well aware of the game will not stand a chance against someone who's strong and a skilled opponent. I know in other games one can do better even as a beginner but in Poker that simply doesn't happen.

That's the case, gambling cannot teach yu how to make good decisions but it teaches you the opposite and the reason why I said so is when you gamble alot it makes your brain to start to love quick money and having feelings for quick things and as a result you hate waiting for something and it makes you lose patience to wait.

That kind of thinking is like a poison for real life because real life requires you to be patient, hard working and not always expecting to get things quickly. In life you should also learn how to say always say no to something until when it is necessary and right for you to say yes but gambling trains you to say yes to everything every time, so instead of gambling to help you fix bad decisions, it actually makes it even worse.
