Why do people never learn from rug pull scams?

Hi newbie here, and this question has been bugging me since then honestly, I wanna hear your thoughts or something that will make sense to my smol brain   haha.

There are multiple incident that KOL's, Influencer's, and other people promotes these tokens/projects but it will rug pull at the end (they probably know, they probably didn't - let's give them the benefit of the doubt).

I mean, there's Bitcoin that you can invest, but then why do peeps invest in those kind of things? don't put eggs in one basket? is it because of fast money? looking for a new btc that will go 1000x in the future? or what?

Yes. Trade at your own risk and invest what only you can lose, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

Can you also please drop some links, article, social media site's, etc. where some KOL'S, Influencer's, or other people has done this? promote a project then rug pulls at the end. I kinda wanna dive deep on this one. Thank you in advance!

You know that saying, "There is a sucker born every minute?"  Its a pretty harsh way of saying people can be really gullible and easy to trick.  It basically means someone is always out there ready to fall for a scam.

Rug pulls are nothing New; they have likely been happening since money was invented.  New tech just made it quicker and easier to pull them off.

From the sources I've read, the number of rugpools may start to decline based on data and not by 2024, meaning the number of rugpools, but what happens next is that the nominal losses in rugpools skyrocket. This means that there are more newcomers going all-in with high amounts, and that means they have a lot of money (who knows where that money comes from).

And the reasons why this happens are still the same as before:

• psychological biases
• unrealistic returns lure
• FOMO, plus overconfidence
• Aggressive marketing supported by influencers.

And those above are just some of the reasons, still some others too, and the most annoying thing is that the potential victims are often greedy people and even very difficult to understand the facts because what is in their minds is that money is very sweet and luring, and they are dreaming of it multiplying easily with their greed.

The answer is simple and it’s because those are people who are greedy and as you have rightly said they are not in the crypto space to help manage their money but rather they are here to make that 100x plus and they simply believe it is from this shitcoins that it will come.

This question is just similar to asking a gambler why they are gambling when they know that the chances of losing is simply higher, I think the answer is there already, not that they aren’t aware of the loses that it will incur but they are blindly trying to justify that they could actually get this 1000x from that next shitcoin.

There is no need to share link about KOLs because basically almost all of them what they promote are simply just like paid adverts and there is no way you can warn people who already have the wrong narrative of getting reach fast through this not to follow their advices

Because their followers want to support the influencer that's why they're showing it through buying the token or project that they're promoting and of course, profit as well.

Aside from that, people really just love to gamble, and at the end of the day, it's their money so let them spend their money into anything that they want to. If they want to invest into new projects, let them. If they want to invest into established coins, let them. This is the reason why meme coins are being created and rug pulls are still rampant until now. There are many investors that are willing to gamble in hopes to make quick buckos.

I've seen some influencers in the past that promoted new projects, but I will not share it here. My advice though is that, don't trust these influencers that much especially when it comes to new projects. Some influencers share knowledge to their followers and that's fine, but don't invest on projects they're promoting and instead, do your own research.

This is just the reason, they want x50, x100, x1000 or more. It may not be everybody but this was what I wanted. After they are disappointed with losses like I did in the past after investing in 2 projects that I lost money, they will learn and know how cryptocurrencies can be scam.

As long as there are newbies who allow it, this rug pull scams will stay endless. They won't give it a damn stopping it, because they are certainly making a good amount.

Yes, this is not something new, but its like the people behind this scam is also innovating, trying to be more attracted on the eyes of their targets.

1. Greed. Always wanting more and more
2. Fear of missing out. So when they see an influencer promoting a shitcoin, they just jump in
3. The dream of wanting to get rich quick overnight
4. Stubbornness. Some even know that some of the projects are rug pulls, but they still continue to pursue them.

I would share some example of influencers trying to promote rug pull that end up fucking the masses in the end, but the fact is that most of them delete some of the promoting posts afterward. Maybe try searching up Andrew Tate and some of the shitcoins he tried to promote.

Education can help but there is no way to get rid of it, some people will be educated but they will not listen, some people will not have the privilege to know about it before they are scammed. As for those that know about it, some people will just be greedy.

Even when the lessons are obvious, people still tend to forget. They forget the lessons, so they keep falling for these scams.

And also because of the desire of everyone to want to get rich, it is always easy for you to give excuses for rug pull scams that come packaged so that it is not obvious, and at the end you end up falling victim again.

If people will remember more and keep in control more the desire to want to get rich, they will not be rug pull scam victims.

Those who have experienced losses have already learned a big lesson but newbies keep coming in the market and expect getting rich instantly, the reason why these crypto scammers are also motivated to keep going and make instant money out from newbies' greed and ignorance.

People actually learn, but as they have learned from that, crypto scammers also take time to elevate and update their ways of tricking and deceiving, and still end up a lot fall on their traps from time to time. The easiest job ever.

At the end of the day, scammers don't have to come up with the most elaborate scam scheme. It can just be something simple and/or has been repeated gazillion times lol. Scammers just have to find the right people, and unfortunately there appears to be an unlimited supply of folks who are more likely to fall for scams.

But at the same time, it's extremely risky because the chances of losing all your funds are very high. They want it instantly, and this is what they call trading, saying we can get rich overnight. That's the promoter's job; they're definitely not presenting the real situation. What's unfortunate is that even those tempted by it, who are used to watching short films like that, aren't even remotely interested, and instead advise their friends to stay away from it. The withdrawals aren't daily, but every moment and every second, on various exchanges, usually middle-class. Larger ones are a bit more stringent in their record-keeping.

There are a lot of them in X. Most of them are there, shilling, scamming!

I'm curious why these people are being called "influencers". Just disgusting! These kinds of people will not disappear, they just keep evolving, changing their schemes every tim,e especially if there ia s new trend in the market.

People must start learning from these, they don't need to lost money first before having such lessons.

100% its because the fast money, everybody want fast money and would be willing to take risk for that.
Recent rugpull that got promoted by some CT or KOL is hypervault in hyperliquid with stolen money amounting to $3 million. Unfortunately most of CT deleted their tweet so only some people have proof.

Never ever trust CT or KOL, they'd promote scam and come out saying they don't know a thing and then delete the proof afterward.

Many people rug pull when investing at shit coin not only first time but also several time and not make them tired by leaving that token for investing and focus invest at bitcoin or top altcoin only. In my opinion why they not tired and never learn more after several scam getting at shit coin because high return promising when investing at meme coins possibility raise 10x to 100x exactly at shit coin at solana network.
First time I got many people rug pull when investing at shit coins using Binance Chain network after scammer earn much money moving to Solana network created rug pull coins.

I’ve been rug-pulled twice during those ICO hype. The projects looked incredibly promising, the teams knew exactly how to talk to investors and their confidence made everything sound believable. For the same reason people still participate in pyramid schemes. Promise of easy money will always attract people no matter what happens. No matter how smart the rest of the population gets, there is always another sucker born every minute and these suckers have to learn the same lesson. It is not just ponzi schemes gonna disappear just because some people learned their lesson and stopped participating in them. There is always a new supply of fools growing in the background and rugpullers know this very well. They know they can continue their operations forever as long as they don’t do something against the law.

There are some touristic areas in some countries where all the merchants are scamming their customers but for some reason you never see their stores empty. The same logic is happening in those places. People get scammed, they get angry, they swear they won’t be coming back, merchants don’t care, tomorrow fresh blood arrives.
