Yes most religions prohibit gambling and this is not relevant if you are praying against a behavior that your god hates, how will he make it happen for us, this sounds very funny, just like a child asking a parent for money to buy a toy but the parent has said before that the toy is prohibited for the child, the parent must have ignored it.

I feel that the assumption that prayer is nothing but the expression of hope is correct, and it does not need well developed and repetitive methods. We must understand that the best approaches to gambling are those in which odds and limit of losses are analysed.

We should acknowledge the fact that, when trying to bring positive consequences out of the acts denied by spiritual beliefs it is illogical. Prayer is not to provide means of attaining this or that, but should be perceived as a method to find strength to escape such kind of behaviour.

Yes this may be right when praying it is just an Expression of Hope,
although it is not directly related to God because every religion forbids risky gambling.

There is nothing to forbid a person to hope with their own beliefs and say that their hope is to be able to win
and get a miracle, It was their business with their god.

The thing about gambling and believe is that it will always contradict each other because imagine a penalty shoot out as you saying and then the both side starts to pray for their team to win so tell how well will that work seeing that each of them would most definitely want the win and same goes for someone prediction in a game, everyone wants to even the players that are playing the match for pray since they all have a believe system but the thing is that human wants will always contradict each other so there is high possibility that prayers will definitely not work.

Wow, I just learned about a gambler who prays before gambling. Personally, I don't pray before gambling. I think it would be dangerous if I lost, which would mean I'd blame my prayer, and maybe others would too, right? So, I wouldn't pray before gambling. Maybe, what your friend meant was that he's been able to gamble calmly all this time, because he prayed. I know prayer is a good way to have a positive effect on our mental health, and sometimes I do it after gambling, especially after losing, and it really helps.

In my religion, gambling is something that is forbidden to do and I know that if I still like to do it, it is a sin, and with prayer, it is usually directed at things that are not sinful, so if I pray before gambling, it seems silly, but maybe for other people who have a religion that does not oppose gambling, it is not a problem, but for me, honestly, it is ridiculous.

If someone blames God for losing a gamble, or for other things like becoming poor or jobless, and considers God failed, I think that persons/gambler is starting to lose their mind. God guarantees provision in many forms, not just money, so losing a bet is not God fault. God likely not give a permission for people to gamble, but someone still gambled this is own fault.

If prayers are their ritual to concentrate, calm down and focus on what they are going to do next, then let them do it if they want to. People do different things as a ritual, as habit, even though it makes no sense. Let them do it, to get inner peace, to calm their nerves. Without hesitation I can say that there is nothing that can help to increase luck chance and predict random. If a person believe that prayers help him to win, let him continue believing in that. If someone believe that a hand clap helps to win, let him do that.

It's true that many religions discourage gambling, or prohibit it. Even in Islam, gambling is considered a major sin. So it seems odd to use prayer to hope for winning at gambling. Gambling is about risk and chance, not miracles, so relying on prayer to change the outcome is clearly flawed.
