Some of us right now will be thinking that this whole year as been a failure simply because he/she couldn't achieve what plans they set for there selves the not realizing it is one of the process that we talk about or hear everyday
We just look at others life and be like we failed again forgetting the fact that a smooth road to success was not promise at all not in this life time
Take a look at the life of athletes and tell me how you go the whole year without winning any trophy but those that makes them failures no right just as you thought
If you play for 10yrs and win just four years those that means the rest of the years were all failure?
So where ever you found yourself right now just know that you are doing great and discipline those not need the whole world approval before it manifest when it as reached it limit.

The fact that you're still alive and kicking is already an achievement, that being said "comparison is the thief of joy" is a common saying for a reason and it's heavily amplified in this era of social media. We're being fed constantly the wins of other people that we forget that they stumbled as well. Failure is growth, without failing you'd never learn anything new or even strive to be better.
Celebrate the little things that you set out to do and succeeded in doing and watch how you pile up your wins

Comparing yourself with others is not the right thing to do because you might not know how long or how many years, the struggles and setbacks that person had to put through with to finally succeed. The path to success is not really a smooth one , sometimes it is how you're able to pull through your time of failure that will determine your success, you don't have to be in competition with anyone. Have a goal, set plans towards achieving your goal,stay focused, consistent and be determined to work towards achieving your goals. There might setbacks, be ready to take risks and you might fail as well, don't give up be ready to accept your mistakes and learn from it. Stop comparing your journey to others, Success is never a smooth road, Look at athletes go a whole year without winning a trophy does that make them failures? No. Play eleven years and only win five does that mean the other six years were wasted? Absolutely not.

easy to say stay determined but it is hard when you hit a wall multiple times, to be honest some people just have better luck or better starts in life, but i guess giving up is the only way to actually guarantee failure

What I am saying is, all we can do is put the necessary effort needed to achieve the goal and even if we fail in that, still we can say that we did our job and next year we need to do better. But the person doesn't put any effort in it still want to become rich or whatever the goal is about then only miracle can save him.

The thing is that most people judge themselves by their results this is a kind of outcome bias. Society is also at fault here, our society never gives importance to how much you have worked or what you have learned, at the end of the day your social status will be measured by how much you have earned. You are right the road to success is never smooth. If you read the biographies of great people in history you can understand that those who have really done something great in life almost all of them have gained the courage to achieve so much by stumbling in the initial stage. I would say that these stumbling blocks are actually a process of learning and growing, do not think that you are unworthy just because you stumble

when we see an athlete we only want to see his trophy, if he can win the trophy then  we keep praising his previous losses as hard work. But as long as he cannot win the trophy we are busy only criticizing, our society does not evaluate his efforts

Don't give false hope to people who already knows their stance. You aren't in their shoe to really understand what they're going through because some many be going through predicaments that can't just be eased, they may have invested for better reformations time after time but things aren't working out for them.
Some may be going through affliction that ridicules all their plans and expectations. They knows best of what they're going through which you won't understand nomatter how they tend to explain to you.
It's also a fault of many like that because, they might probably keep doing the same thing and be expecting different results which may not be the key to achieve that which is their goal time after time.
So some actually spends their times achieving nothing from the list of their new year resolution.

Exactly..., This is literally what I was looking for from the write up.
The truth is, anyone who genuinely knows within themselves that they're not putting in much effort and discipline, ought to be guilty and see themselves as failures. A lot of people these days overlook the importance of efforts and hardwork... That discipline to keep going day after day. If those things are not in play, then it's obviously a total failure and no reward should be expected.

Mind you, those little set backs during build up, are all part of the process to achieving something great. I won't really call them a failure if the person in question is still putting in more effort.

Not reaching a plan doesn’t mean you’re stuck it just means the timeline changed, that’s part of the process whether we like it or not.
