Do you think everyone here starts as a legendary or hero member? Everyone here starts as a newbie, just like you and the others. But the reason each person has a different growth rate is because the quality of each account varies. Some contribute more by creating helpful topics, while others post more casually. Those who contribute more deserve more merit because they are quality members.

So, if you want to be like that, make your account more qualified by posting quality posts or threads that are truly helpful. Don't use the excuse that those with titles like Legendary or Hero members can earn more merit; that only proves your incompetence.

The problem of newbies is that they always interested to earn merit but not interested to make educative posts

Sometimes newbies don't preview their article before posting and that has been the basic factor that denys so many of merit from good merit source

Some of the newbies doesn't read to understand before responding to a thread, and some don't make research to know if the topic they wants to discuss has already been discussed...they only post anything they few and that's why nobody is meriting them

Also improving a writing skill can be an easy tools to earn merit..and also following the rules and regulations and methods of how other people that earn merit is writing can be a tools to earn merit wisely.

It has never been easy for newbies in any forum or organisation. As a newbie you have the duty to understand the rules and regulations of the place you are and also learn the how to grow. It's not new, almost every newbie eager to grow starts with blaming the system. But when they grow in the system they'll understand that nothing is really wrong with the system.

Just do your things and learn to follow the system and not blame it. This system has produced so many legendaries from scratch.

I'm surprised to see an user who make 48 posts and earn 6 merits complain if getting merit is hard? how about many newbies who create 200 posts and only earn 1 merit? how many merits you supposed to earn after making 48 posts?

In my experience and my observation, it's harder to earn merit when your rank are getting higher, because they expect you to have higher knowledge or contribution.

So, if you can earn merit for making specific post when you were newbie, it might not work when you're a Hero Member.

What you are saying is not a secret, it is a phenomenon which is pretty much true and obvious and people here have learned how to live with it.
Heros and legendaries are more likely to get merit than newbies because other heros and legendaries do not want to feed accounts which are made to fulfill ill-intentions, like farming in order to sell accounts later, or feed alternative accounts for people who already have several accounts, etc.

The higher the rank in this forum, it becomes easier for one to accumulate merits. That is the way it is and it does not mean this place is toxic at all, it is just a collective way people have adopted here to keep this community from becoming a spam-fest. If you give useful information, you will eventually reach legendary rank.

You are not seeing the forum as being toxic, that's not the right word to use from want you have expressed. You feel exhausted and don't know what to do.

You are barely a new account, registered less than 2 months and you are already complaining, I checked your post history and you have received merit in some good post you have made, don't expect every post you make is equal to a merit, this is not some like thing and even it's like that way, not everyone will see your post interesting.

I saw some of your post in fillippone thread, you have to wait till your turn before your posts can be review but make sure you stop posting on Wall observer.

Date registered October 2025 and you have earned 6 merit's within that period of your being active in the forum, I must say that you are among the privilege members regardless of the rank, what you posted that earn you merits some Hero members will post more helpful topic and yet not get merited, a I don't mean to counter your thoughts, but you may be wrong in that assumption that title brings more merit's, just post helpful comments and you get your luck and merit's flows.

So this has been good advice for 7+ years and it is still largely ignored. I made the quote bigger so it might really stand out to newbies trying to get merits.

The problem is certain merit sources are so easy to con merits out of that all the account farmers would rather kiss their ring than formulate an original thought.

Your clear statement shows that you are interested in gaining merit. There are many old members here who do not expect to gain merit in all their posts, why are you doing this?

The reason for deleting your previous post was that you copied it directly from your old thread and there was nothing different there. I immediately pointed it out. Any forum members with good posts, threads deserve to receive merit, and you can receive merit too if you make consistent good contributions for forum community by your posts and threads.

Merit is for good posts, if you don't have them, you can not receive merit.

When you start out, you are a Newbie, and you will run into various annoying limits. These limits will be reduced to the point where you shouldn't usually notice them after you have participated in the forum for a few weeks. If you are on the forum to talk, then that's all you really need to know about rank. Don't worry about it too much, and you will eventually rank up.

If you want to maximize your rank, then you need to increase two statistics which are listed on your profile:

• Activity, which is maximized by posting once per day on average. Posting more than that is useless in raising your activity.
• Merit, which is gained by making good posts.

If you make ten thousand posts in a week, your activity will be capped and you will still be a Newbie. If you make ten thousand useless posts over any period of time, you will gain zero merit and you will still be a Newbie. You can rank up only by making good posts consistently. It's quality over quantity.

When trying to write quality posts, a lot of people act as though they're writing a book report for school: putting facts that we already know into their own words. Nobody wants to read that, and you will not get merit for it. Moreover, the length of your post and the quality of your English are only minor factors. In trying to write a quality post worthy of merit, you should offer new ideas, personal experiences, or perspectives that other forum users will actually find new and interesting.

First of all, I suggest you to change your thinking because the forum isn't toxic for newbies and anyone who's a good contributor gets merits and respect that he/she deserves. The members who're ranked as Legendary, Hero, have been on the forum for years and they've contributed a lot and that's the reason they get more merits, but that doesn't mean the newbies won't get any merits.

There have been many newbies who got many merits but those are the ones who contributed good stuff on the forum. I suggest you to write good stuff and share your honest opinion and if you can manage to create good and useful threads then do that as well. You'll see that overtime you'll start getting merits.
