Making baseless accusations make it personal. That's where spending time/energy makes it worthwhile.

One of these fellas fabricated stories about the other one like he was a p*do. This is an attack on someone's reputation. When you get attacked like that, it becomes impossible to ignore.

OP, if anyone here is trolling or stalking you/your posts; I think it's best to put them under ignore. Just click the ignore button on them and move on; except they're putting your data out here and jeopardizing your privacy. In a situation like that, report such a user to moderators at once.

In the forum we will definitely find things like that, but I think we don't need to take it too seriously, just let that mfs say whatever, he can't do shit to you, so just ignore it, or you can report the user to the moderator or put him on your ignore list. Problem solved.

No need to make a big deal out of it, just thicken your ears and move on. The internet is full of noise, and there are always mfs who want to find trouble because he doesn't get enough attention from his mom. No need to respond to that, just don't waste your energy on people who don't deserve it.

I would. But I know the community too well that I did not bother to reply anymore.
If you choose not to believe someone, it doesn't matter if they tell you the truth or lie; you will say I don't believe you and refuse to believe anything. I had too many things to share, but I decided not to. It's because I know the community, and nothing can change it. I am kinda liable for what has happened, and I cannot deny some things. I don't want to tell people something that they will refuse to believe. There is a reason why I actually did not write to much.

The forum has given us all the necessary tools to be fine here but we seem to ignore using them.
- Ignore the bully
- ignore unwanted boards
- Wrong feedback, distrust the person
- You can report spam
- You also have the opportunity to leave a feedback if they aren't trade worthy.
We have all we should ask for.

You have given a very good lecture, what you said if followed will really help a lot of people especially those who get too concerned about what the other person is doing or saying,  there are very simple things you as a person can actually do to make a foolish person look more foolish without you coming out to argue with him or her, and again just like you said "If you wrestle a pig; you get dirty and the pig likes it" silent sometimes is the best answer you give to a fool.

Well, this is for some maybe the hard part to ignore misbehaving subjects consequently. If in best case nobody engages with those subjects, they don't get their malice satisfaction they try to achieve. The subjects will look a bit silly if they "scream around alone" and hopefully nobody cares.

Don't feed the trolls. No feast banquet for them when they are consequently ignored (and reported). Trolls likely will starve and move on.

There are bullies in real life, and the way to defeat them or atleast tame them is to go physical with them twice or more, even if you were not able to defeat them. When they see that you are suddenly confrontational, they will avoid you.

But the best way to combat a bully hiding behind the keyboard is to ignore. If you don't welcome the option of ignoring, how do you want the forum to handle it? To ban all bullies? And who or what will determine a bully

I've had a longstanding habit of calling bullshit when I see it, and I'm glad bitcointalk has moderators who generally tolerate that sort of thing, because frankly this forum is and has been for years a complete fucking mess.  And guess what?  Even before the merit system and the advent of merit begging, the abysmal signal-to-noise ratio has been primarily because of low-ranked members.  It baffles me that many of them even made it past the Newbie rank.

By the way, I'm getting a strong whiff of AI taint in this thread.  Ask yourself when the last time you saw anyone who'd just joined the forum who could write proper English.  The number isn't zero, but the incidence in the population is so rare that right now when I see it, it just raises suspicion.

I fifth the above opinions to grow a thicker skin/backbone, because if you're seriously whining about words written by people you don't know on the internet, I really have to wonder how high your level of functioning is in real life.  Do we need a 'safe space' section here?  I think not.  Life is the greatest of teachers, boys and girls.  You get the test first, then you get the lesson--and what I'm saying is that there are assholes and idiots surrounding us on all sides daily.  No way in hell you're going to change them by whining to any authority.  If you think my view is wrong, good luck to you.

Are you kidding me right now??? You of all people? Heck No! It's far from you. You are even one of the few members I like and respect in the forum. Your way is liberal, and your correction is unique. And even if you are strict sometimes, there's difference between being strict/factual and being uncultured and mean. The latter partly represent the character of the person I was referring to, and I used "partly" because, psychologically, he is worse in my assessment.

Let me give you a hint: Someone had written a near-perfect thread, but probably, he mistaken a point (maybe due to his knowledge or judgment), or maybe, just one sentence was not rightly constructed. He might just come heavily on the person, calling him names like "idiot" or worse. That was why I used "unprovoked" in my reply. For me, he could have just pointed the error out and politely correct him. After all, we learn daily. People shouldn't be unnecessarily mean.

The problem is in your definition of "helping" one person. To me, it sounds like you want to censor someone. I think I'm usually quite friendly here, but that doesn't mean I don't value the freedom to be unfriendly when someone wants to.

The reasons for posts being deleted could be a lot. If I were you, I would first check if any of my deleted posts violated forum rules, see Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ and digest AND understand them with an open mind.

I've had a few of my posts in the past deleted, too. It's not uncommon to be a bit upset first, but when the dust settled, in most of my deletions I understood what I did wrong and likely why those posts were yanked. It's rare if at all to receive an explanation of the deletion. Moderators don't have time for that and I totally understand this.

It's futile to ask for a reason. A post commonly got reportet by one or more users because you did something against forum rules. A moderator evaluates the report and deletes the post when the report was justified. That's the most common procedure, I assume.

Forum doesn't support bad things, when you come across of something unusual to you in forum, Report or you Ignore, it will save you the stress.
